Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1342: Ancestor (Part 2)

Since becoming a zombie, Lin Tian's zombie body has been almost as invulnerable as King Kong—bullets could do nothing to him. The only things that could harm him were those divine weapons and Tang Ziqing's lineage of Sword Qi.

The most severe injury he suffered was when Charlotte pierced his heart with the Soul-devouring Blade, but that was because Charlotte used the advantage of the weapon. Bare fists couldn't harm Lin Tian at all.

However, Houqing managed to make Lin Tian's zombie body spit blood with bare fists alone. What tremendous power this was.

"Lin Tian, are... are you okay?" The Sword Spirit was very worried and hesitantly said, "You... you should leave. You need not risk your life for me."

Lin Tian stood up straight, wiped the blood from his mouth, and said impatiently, "No more nonsense. If I, Lin Tian, say I'll save you, then I'll save you."

"Young man, come on." Houqing beckoned with a slight smile, looking relaxed, in stark contrast to Lin Tian's sorry state.

With a "bang," Lin Tian launched himself off the ground like an arrow from a bow, charging at Houqing again. Every time he stepped on the ground, the entire underwater space shook violently; if not for the barrier's protection, the underwater space might have collapsed.

"Interesting, interesting. Your strength can actually break through limits and grow stronger when facing a tough opponent. I wonder what inspires such a fighting spirit in you." Houqing spoke with mild surprise.

Yes, Lin Tian had already given it his all just now, but now his strength was even more formidable. He had been completely inspired by Houqing, the second invincible foe he had encountered, counting Xu Feibai.

Others would have been discouraged long ago in the face of such an invincible opponent, but Lin Tian was instead brimming with boundless fighting spirit.

"Sword Energy Cross!"

Lin Tian used his palm as a sword, and purple flames as Sword Qi, unleashing Tang Ziqing's ultimate move. The sky was filled with a weave of purple blazing palm shadows, enveloping Houqing entirely.

The Sword Spirit shivered in fear because it was also enveloped within. If these palm shadows struck it, the Sword Spirit might be directly dispelled.

"How amusing that you utilize Nu Ba's purple flames in this way." Facing the engulfing attack, Houqing remained unfazed. As the palm shadows and purple flames closed in, he calmly pushed out a palm in front of him.

With a "boom," the palm shadows and purple flames vanished instantly. Lin Tian was hit in the chest by what seemed like a soft palm but was knocked back, falling like a meteor. He hadn't even landed before spitting out a mouthful of blood.

This time, it seemed that Houqing was unwilling to let Lin Tian go. He moved, stepping forward directly in front of Lin Tian, and then a palm descended, targeting Lin Tian's chest. This was the third move, and the final one; Houqing was proactively attacking as if to kill Lin Tian.

Even before his palm landed, Lin Tian felt an overwhelming pressure. Could it be that today, Lin Tian would die under the palm of the Zombie Ancestor? The thought of death suddenly crossed his mind.

The last time he encountered Xu Feibai, though Xu Feibai also gave off an invincible aura, it did not make one feel the presence of death as clearly as Houqing did. This was the Zombie Ancestor—not only invincible but also capable of easily destroying everything.

No, I, Lin Tian, will not die, cannot die. Even the Zombie Ancestor cannot take my life! Lin Tian's heart roared.

Roar...

The thought took but a moment, and Lin Tian let out a tremendous roar, as if his entire being was ignited by his fighting spirit. At the critical moment, his lower abdomen's Dantian stirred; an icy, chilling airflow surged throughout his body instantly.

His originally yellow eyes turned pitch black, like two vortex black holes, seemingly capable of devouring everything.

Lin Tian was no longer stiff or cold as the first time this happened; rather, his entire body was filled with explosive power, as if his body were about to burst apart.

Everything changed so quickly, in a mere instant, and Lin Tian clenched his fist, channeling all the power surging through him and launched it towards the incoming palm of Houqing.

"Rumble..."

The clash of two massive forces created waves of impact that spread violently, first crashing into the rock wall, the barrier scintillating constantly as if it would shatter the next second. The waterfall connecting up and down in the pool was momentarily severed by the aftermath and resumed flow only a few seconds later.

In the next moment of the power collision, Houqing actually took a step back—not by choice but forced by Lin Tian's power to retreat a step, yet just one step, Houqing stabilized immediately.

As Houqing retreated, Lin Tian was slammed to the ground, his arm made a snapping sound and bent at an odd angle, breaking. His back hit the ground with a jolt, a mouthful of blood sprayed out, his eyes closed, and he passed out. It wasn't clear how many bones in his body were broken. Before passing out, he seemed to hear the anxious voice of the Sword Spirit.

When Lin Tian opened his eyes again, he found himself surrounded by darkness. He hurriedly stood up; strangely, he did not feel any pain in his body.

What is happening? Could it be that I'm dead? If I am dead, then where is this place? Hell? Zombies aren't part of the Five Elements and Six Paths of Reincarnation, so even in death, they don't enter Hell's cycle. Could it be that the zombie world after death is here? A slew of questions arose in Lin Tian's mind, but no one could answer.

"Hey... is anyone there!" Lin Tian cupped his hands around his mouth and called out loudly.

There was no response, nor any echo. This place seemed to be an endless space. Lin Tian tried stomping a few times, and the ground made a loud and solid sound.

"Hey... is there any ghost here!" Lin Tian shouted again, his voice vanished in the darkness, still with no living response.

"Damn, alive or dead, there's no one here. I have power but nowhere to use it," Lin Tian muttered to himself.

"Power of Fire!" Lin Tian focused his mind, intending to summon the purple flames, but to his shock, the power of fire did not respond. He seemed to have lost control over it.

He tried several more times, but the power of fire still could not be summoned.

"Could I really be dead?" Lin Tian's heart sank.

During that last clash with Houqing, Lin Tian felt an aberration in the Taiyin Xuan Qi. It was precisely because of Taiyin Xuan Qi that his power multiplied, but he passed out after just one strike.

Logically, with Taiyin Xuan Qi's protection, dying shouldn't be that easy, but given the current situation, Lin Tian couldn't make sense of it.

"Could it be that Houqing sealed me within some barrier?" Lin Tian suddenly considered this possibility.

It wasn't impossible. Houqing liked using barriers, and the underground space was full of barriers set by him. Plus, this place had no sky or ground, endless in extent, clearly not reality.

As long as it's a barrier, there must be a way to break it. Lin Tian steadied his mind, looking around, but all was dark. Even with his night vision, visibility was just over a hundred meters.

He lifted a foot to explore further, when suddenly, a chaotic-colored current began to envelop the darkness.
