Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1349: Memories (Part 2)

Lin Tian spoke just a few sentences, and Zhang Lingyu stopped. She came to and glared at Lin Tian, "You… you help me open it."

"That's impossible. How could I let you go to your death?" Lin Tian said with a smile.

Looking at his smiling face, Zhang Lingyu ground her teeth in frustration. The female Heavenly Master snorted twice in anger and sat back on the sofa, deliberately turning her head away from Lin Tian.

Even a beautiful Heavenly Master can act a bit childish. Lin Tian actually found this better than her usual serious demeanor. He understood Zhang Lingyu's inner conflict and distress, so he didn't mind her anger.

"Lingyu, Celestial Master, your anger won't help. Even if I open the underwater barrier to let you in, you won't find Houqing." Lin Tian said.

"Why?" Zhang Lingyu, who originally didn't want to interact with Lin Tian, turned her head and asked curiously.

"The area beneath the Sea Eye is a peculiar place…" Lin Tian thought for a moment, and then recounted his experiences beneath the Sea Eye, although he concealed the existence of Taiyin Xuan Qi. Everyone listening was amazed.

The most surprised was Charlotte, since the island is her territory, yet she was unaware of the mysterious underwater space hidden beneath the Sea Eye. From Lin Tian's account, she could vaguely judge that the space had already delved below the seabed.

"I never thought…" Charlotte said with a slight sigh.

"Did you say Houqing used the Ancestor's blood to enhance your abilities?" Zhang Lingyu asked.

"Do I need to lie to you about this?" Lin Tian said matter-of-factly.

Zhang Lingyu asked earnestly, "I truly wonder, if you gather the four zombie bloodlines, what kind of existence will you become?"

Lin Tian responded with a nonchalant smile, "I've never thought about this issue. No matter how powerful I become, I'm still Lin Tian. This heart will not change."

"I can't bring myself to attack you; I'm unsure if it's right or wrong and whether it will result in an invincible zombie. Promise me, no matter how you change in the future, please don't harm innocent people." Zhang Lingyu sincerely looked at Lin Tian and spoke earnestly.

From her eyes, Lin Tian saw a pure heart, truly bearing the responsibility of a Demon Exorcist: vanquishing demons, upholding justice—not just a slogan, and certainly not like her arrogant senior brother.

Not every Demon Exorcist has professional ethics; her senior brother is at least arrogant and self-opinionated, whereas Zhang Lingyu truly deserves the title of Demon Exorcist, not tarnishing the Heavenly Master title.

"I still stand by my word: if people don't offend me, I won't offend them; if they do, I'll repay them tenfold. None of the souls under my command are innocent; they're even more wicked than the demons you speak of." Lin Tian also stated seriously.

Zhang Lingyu nodded; she wanted to believe in Lin Tian, even though she couldn't quite understand why she trusted a zombie.

After a while, she finally said, "Alright, let's not talk about Houqing. You said you had an announcement, what's the news?"

Lin Tian extended his hand and said, "This is the big news…"

Everyone looked over, and in Lin Tian's palm, at some unknown time, appeared a droplet of water. Crystal-clear, threads of blood flowed within it as if alive, which astounded Zhang Lingyu and the others.

During the previous discussion, Lin Tian deliberately left out the matter of the water droplet. This droplet, given by Houqing, was meant to break the Secret Spell on Charlotte.

"What is this thing?" Charlotte asked with a slight frown.

Lin Tian didn't answer but ordered, "Swallow it."

"Brother Tian…" Rossi called out, fearing the water droplet might harm his sister.

Lin Tian glanced at him, telling him to calm down. Charlotte gazed at the droplet for some time, her thoughts unclear, but eventually stepped forward, indicating her willingness to swallow it.

She knew Lin Tian's temperament very well; if Lin Tian decided on something, resistance was futile, for Lin Tian would not show mercy.

Lin Tian smiled mysteriously, flicked his finger, and the droplet shot toward Charlotte. She opened her mouth and swallowed it without hesitation. Ai Wei and Rossi were somewhat anxious, fearing something might happen to their sister or Lord.

A minute passed, and everyone grew a bit impatient. Ai Wei couldn't help but speak when suddenly, red light flickered on Charlotte, startling her.

"Lord…"

"Sister…"

Ai Wei and Rossi exclaimed simultaneously, about to rush forward, but Lin Tian stopped them with a gesture, "Don't go near her!"

"My body… my head… Lin Tian, what did you make me eat!" Charlotte suppressed the pain in her head and asked with a frown.

"I'm just helping you recover some lost memories." Lin Tian said calmly.

"I'm not suffering from amnesia and don't need to recover any memory…" Charlotte said stubbornly, but before she could finish, intense pain surged from the depths of her mind. Even as a Blood Clan Lord, she nearly fainted from the agony.

"Ah…"

Charlotte couldn't help but shout; amidst her flying hair, her true vampire form emerged, sharp teeth, silver pupils, flashing coldly.

As her vampire form appeared, the blood-red light intensified. With the strengthening blood light, black aura emanated from Charlotte's head.

The black aura was extraordinarily eerie; after emerging, it didn't dissipate but gathered at her head, slowly wriggling, seemingly alive, disturbing anyone watching. As vampires, Ai Wei and Rossi felt a chill in their hearts as they watched.

When the last trace of black aura emerged, the blood-colored light on Charlotte also vanished. She seemed completely exhausted as she closed her eyes and fell backward. At the moment her eyes closed, a tear flowed from the corner of her eye.

The black aura still floated in the air; as Charlotte fell, it suddenly shook, attempting to fly toward her, as if wanting to reattach.

Lin Tian snorted, appearing in front, grabbing the black aura in his hand. Though bound, the black aura wasn't passive, writhing violently, trying to drill into Lin Tian's palm.

Daring to covet my essence, Lin Tian sneered inwardly, his mind shifted, and threads of Purple Fire emerged from his palm, burning upon the black aura. The aura shrieked miserably like a living creature, emitting "squeak, squeak" sounds, then reluctantly behaved in Lin Tian's grasp.

"Lingyu, do you have a way to contain this? We should investigate what it is, and how it managed to evade my eyes." Lin Tian turned to Zhang Lingyu and asked.

Zhang Lingyu, watching intently, was startled and responded with a sound of recognition. She glanced around the living room, found a glass jar from the cabinet, and said, "Put it in here."

Without hesitation, Lin Tian placed the "black aura" into the glass jar. Zhang Lingyu quickly sealed the lid and took out a talisman, placing it atop the lid.

The black aura squirmed, hitting against the glass, trying to escape, but the talisman on the lid glowed with an earthy yellow light, preventing the aura's escape from the jar.
