Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1354: Bloodline Mystery (Part 2)

After an hour of drawing and writing, Zhang Lingyu finally stopped. She took out the glass bottle sealing the Blood Worm, removed the talisman, and quickly poured Charlotte's blood into it.

As soon as the Blood Worms came into contact with the blood, they started to tumble. In the blink of an eye, the entire bottle turned blood red, and the Blood Worms seemingly all transformed into blood, indistinguishable from the real thing.

"These Blood Worms are truly fascinating; no wonder I couldn't find them," Lin Tian marveled.

Charlotte felt uncomfortable watching. The thought of Blood Worms hiding in her blood for so many years made her scalp tingle.

Zhang Lingyu poured all the blood from the glass bottle onto the ground. Once the blood flowed onto the ground, it slowly started to move, as if it were alive, though it was actually just Blood Worms.

The blood formed by the Blood Worms seemed to sense something, flowing towards Charlotte. Zhang Lingyu warned, "You all step outside the Formation, Lin Tian stays."

Charlotte and Ai Wei had no choice but to comply, and given the Blood Worms were designed to target the Blood Clan, they were glad to keep their distance.

After Charlotte and the other Blood Clan members exited the Formation, the Blood Worms lost their target. They probed towards Lin Tian but quickly retreated, as if sensing something terrifying.

"These little things are afraid of me," Lin Tian said, astonished.

"You taught them a lesson; they instinctively know who to provoke and who not to," Zhang Lingyu explained casually.

Then she took out a yellow talisman paper and began to chant, "Search souls in eight directions, leave no place to hide..."

As soon as she finished chanting, the talisman paper erupted in flames, responding to the Formation in the hall, causing it to flicker. The blood on the ground seemed to blaze, slowly drying out, eventually turning into black smoke that disappeared into the air.

"All set; now we wait for the person who performed the secret technique to sense the change in the Blood Worms and come to investigate. That's when you'll need to apprehend him, Lin Tian," Zhang Lingyu said with ease.

"This Blood Clan member is strange; Brother Tian, you should be careful," Rossi warned.

"I'm interested in this Blood Clan member, curious about what he's plotting," Lin Tian said, intrigued.

Beside him, Ai Wei hesitated and, with a grave expression, said, "Lin Tian, that Blood Clan member turned Lord into a Blood Clan member, and he has absolute control over Lord. Could it be..."

Lin Tian was well aware of this. Not only the Blood Clan but also zombies were like this. For example, he himself couldn't possibly defeat the female zombie Nu Ba, as she was the one who turned him into a zombie; with a single thought from Nu Ba, he'd be powerless.

So even if Lin Tian advanced to the red-eye level, he couldn't beat Nu Ba, unless a miracle occurred, a great transformation freed him from the shackles of bloodline, allowing him to surpass Nu Ba.

That said, under current circumstances, Lin Tian didn't need to worry about the female zombie controlling him; her disposition wasn't like that of zombies who enjoy controlling others.

However, regarding Charlotte's situation, it's slightly different. Lin Tian reassured, "No need to worry; your Lord is under my constraint, not that Blood Clan member's."

Upon hearing this, Ai Wei and Rossi both sighed in relief, feeling Lin Tian was more reliable. Charlotte's expression, however, remained unchanged, her thoughts unknown.

Several hours passed after Zhang Lingyu performed the spell; the castle remained quiet, with no signs of intrusion. Until the sun set, the night descended, and the castle lights turned on, causing Rossi to grow uneasy, as it involved his sister and family.

"Brother Tian..." Rossi stood up, wanting to say something, but Lin Tian interrupted him by raising his hand.

Looking up towards the window above, Lin Tian calmly said, "It's here."

Just as he finished speaking, a dark shadow descended onto the window ledge—it was a black bat. Fluttering its wings, the bat flew into the hall.

After a puff of black smoke, a person appeared in the hall, of medium build, draped in a black cloak, with hands and body hidden within, his face obscured within the shadows of his hood, and a black mask concealed his features.

Though Charlotte and her companions couldn't see, Lin Tian could, immediately activating his super vision to see through the newcomer's features.

It was a man, with silver-white hair, appearing somewhat aged, but his face was handsome, typical of vampire appearance—whether male or female, they were all attractive.

Upon his arrival, instead of looking at Charlotte, his gaze fell on Zhang Lingyu, as she was the only human present. As a vampire, he immediately sensed the presence of a living being.

Of course, Zhang Lingyu was deliberately not hiding her presence; had she wanted to, not even a Blood Prince could detect her.

"Charlotte, why is there a human here?" the masked man rasped, his eyes behind the mask glowing eerily.

"My Lord, there are things unsuitable for a Blood Clan member to handle; humans are needed for the task. She's my subordinate," Charlotte respectfully replied, as the masked man was the one who made her a Blood Clan, he was her superior.

Although the appearance of Lin Tian changed the dynamics, Charlotte feigned her obedience.

"Since my Lord left last time, he hasn't appeared again. Is there something important requiring my assistance this time?" Charlotte continued.

The masked man didn't answer her directly but circled Charlotte. Upon returning to his original position, he suddenly extended his hand, emitting a burst of dark light from his palm.

"Does my Lord still think he can control me?" Charlotte said coldly.

Startled, the masked man exclaimed, "You... how can this be?"

"How come I'm not under your control?" Charlotte sneered, "Because I'm no longer the Blood Clan member you created."

"Who did this?" Danger flashed in the masked man's eyes as he spoke dully.

"Naturally, it was me. Oh, and I was the one who broke your secret technique," Lin Tian stepped forward a few paces, speaking lightly.

After scrutinizing Lin Tian, the masked man frowned, "You appear to be an ordinary Blood Clan member; what ability do you have to break my Bloodline Power and my clan's secret technique?"

"I almost forgot that a Demon Exorcist once placed a talisman on me to conceal my aura, so normally you can't see through my true nature. What I reveal to you, you naturally only recognize that," Lin Tian said purposefully, as if he had forgotten something vital.

"So you deliberately led me here?" the masked man said icily.
