Water Mage in the Flame Realm

Chapter 210: What Is Tier Four

Except for Ivan, no one knew that Andrew had quietly broken through to the fourth tier.

Even Andrew himself felt a bit unreal.

Recalling the past, from coming to the Flame Realm to obtain the "Tear of the Water God", using the Fire Extinguishing Upgrade Method, step by step from Apprentice Level, to Tier One Water Mage, Tier Two Water Magic Lord, then to Tier Three, and now reaching Tier Four, a level almost impossible for the younger generation to reach.

Andrew himself found it quite incredible.

The biggest sign of reaching Tier Three is the awakening of soul power.

In a Tier Three battle against those below it, generally, as long as one uses soul power, they can directly crush the opponent.

This is precisely why Rose, who majored in the "Desolate Language Series", could mobilize such a powerful force in the Inner Sea Desert when she reached the pinnacle of Tier Three in the domain of Soul Magic.

After Andrew reached Tier Three himself, he did not overly develop this aspect of Soul Magic.

Instead, he developed a set of farming abilities to produce magic products centered on the "Enchanting Finger", while also initially forming his own combat style.

But this does not mean Andrew had no improvement in terms of soul.

Water Magic is inherently different from Fire Magic, as Water Magic does not have top-tier all-rounded soul magic like the "Heart Fire Series" or "Desolate Language Series".

In terms of soul, the Water Element leans more towards defense rather than offense.

For example, when facing that female assassin, if Andrew hadn't been Tier Three facing her, if he hadn't established his own soul defense system upon reaching Tier Three, he might have had his will collapse instantly under the initial terrifying suppression from her.

The entire progression to Tier Three and before is essentially a "foundation laying" stage.

From Tier Four, the cultivation of each profession enters a brand-new, different stage—

"That is, upon reaching Tier Four, the concept of 'combat power' will become the focus of cultivation."

Andrew thought to himself, "I had heard about this theory before, and consulted with Barbara, Ivan, Leia, including Grandpa Falk. Only now, after truly breaking through to Tier Four, do I understand what it really means. I now have a personal experience."

If a professional's cultivation process is a self-shaping, forming oneself into a "tool".

Then from ordinary people to apprentices to Tier One professionals, it's collectively referred to as the "awakening" stage.

From Tier One to Tier Three, it's about laying the foundation, allowing the "tool" to roughly take shape. It's essential to have the necessary magic power, learn the basic skills of magic casting, and master the fundamental soul offensive and defensive capabilities. This stage doesn't emphasize real combat but focuses on solidifying the foundation.

Starting from Tier Four, things are different.

From Tier Four, Five, to Six, in this stage, each advancement will increase the capacity of the "tool" to store more magic power and use higher-tier magic.

More importantly, from Tier Four onwards, in this stage, every profession will experience a qualitative change in the "amount of energy that can be output in unit time" compared to the previous stage!

In layman's terms, it's about whether, after entering real combat, one can fully exert their power in intense, brief battles that often determine victory in a matter of seconds.

For example, two people at the same Tier Four, with the same magic power reserve and the same Fireball Technique or Water Ball Technique, if one can instantly mobilize one-tenth of their magic power into the magic, and the other can inject almost all their magic power at once, then without a doubt, the latter has a much bigger winning chance!

This is "combat power".

Tiers merely represent energy levels.

Truly converting the energy level into practical combat power is the core focus from Tier Four onwards.

Andrew carefully felt all aspects of himself after breaking through to Tier Four.

Of course, magic power had increased further, which pertains to changes in capacity.

But what truly matters is—

"Now, the magic power I can output in an instant is at least ten times more than when I was Tier Three!" Andrew, besides being surprised, felt that this increase was somewhat absurd.

From Tier Three to Tier Four, the total magic power increased by less than three times.

But the efficiency of magic power output increased tenfold.

"Which means even if my total magic power didn't change at all and remained the same as when I was Tier Three, just relying on the increase in my current magic power output efficiency, I could beat my pre-breakthrough self to a pulp!"

Andrew gradually understood what this concept meant, "This is just like how Tier Three professionals can crush those below Tier Three using soul tactics. After reaching Tier Four, one can also cause a massive surge in combat power through the qualitative change in power output efficiency, crushing those below Tier Four!"

Thinking of this, Andrew decided to conduct an actual test.

Raising his hand, an invisible "Demon Patterned Water Tiger" appeared silently in the room.

Demon Patterned Water Tiger is a Tier Three Water Magic, belonging to the "Water Element Series".

This entire series is about summoning various elemental life forms, and Demon Patterned Water Tiger is no exception.

While casting, Andrew felt carefully, quickly determining, "If I exhaust all my magic power now, I should be able to summon about a hundred Demon Patterned Water Tigers. Converted to pre-breakthrough Tier Three, that would be around thirty."

Note that the thirty here is summoned one by one, in succession, not summoning thirty water tigers in an instant.

This is because at Tier Three, the output efficiency of magic power is limited; if summoned simultaneously, two is the limit, and forcibly increasing would damage the magic power conduits in the body, possibly resulting in casting failures or even suffering magic power backlash.

So, now that I've broken through to Tier Four, how many water tigers can I summon simultaneously?

Andrew promptly conducted a test.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh, whoosh whoosh whoosh—

In the blink of an eye, nearly twenty water tigers appeared around Andrew!

"Damn..." Andrew was thoroughly convinced, and equally shocked, "The combat power increase from Tier Three to Tier Four is this significant!"

Summoning one by one, the total number of water tigers summoned increased from thirty to a hundred.

In an instant, the simultaneous total number increased from two to twenty!

It's like having a savings of a million and one person can only throw ten at a time, while another can throw a thousand at a time; is this not a world of difference!?

Andrew just felt his heart pounding.

Unable to hide his excitement!

Subconsciously making a swallowing motion, Andrew's thoughts shifted, immediately going to check on the "Water God Mark" for the massive amount of Tier Four Water Magic that had just been unlocked to him.

Sure enough, he found that almost every Tier Four Water Magic was much more challenging than the most difficult Tier Three magic he had mastered before.

No other reason, simply because compared to Tier Three, the magic power output efficiency of Tier Four is entirely different.

Even if a Tier Three mage already had a Tier Four mage's magic power reserve "total", without the output "efficiency" of a Tier Four mage, it is impossible to successfully cast any Tier Four magic!

"Efficiency... Efficiency, huh..."

Andrew murmured, appearing thoughtful.

Gradually, Andrew's eyes brightened as if he had thought of something.

The "Water God Mark" between his eyebrows was flashing quickly; Andrew was delving a strand of consciousness into it, searching for something.

Finally, Andrew found within the "Water Element Series" a Tier Four Water Magic with a seemingly unremarkable name.

The magic was called: Elemental Solidification.
