The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 1957: Peril

Luo Ziling could never have imagined that while touring the Xiaoxiang Pavilion with Yang Qingyin, assassins would suddenly appear.

Luckily, he grew up in the mountains, constantly confronting wild beasts and harsh environments, making him more sensitive to danger than the average person and more attuned to environmental changes. Coupled with the special circumstances recently, he never let his guard down.

When he saw two people bringing a sense of danger appear in his view, he instinctively took precautions.

As soon as he saw them reach into their clothes, he reacted immediately.

Conveniently, there was an artificial rock formation nearby, and without hesitation, he broke off a piece of it and hurled it at the two people.

After throwing a large piece of rock, he didn't wait to see if it hit the target; he quickly shielded Yang Qingyin and took cover behind the rock formation.

While guarding Yang Qingyin closely, he grabbed several more stones and threw them in that direction.

In the chaos, he couldn't even remember where he got the stones from.

Luo Ziling had great arm strength, able to lift a person weighing 160-170 pounds into the air with his bare hands, a strength far beyond that of an average person.

The first stone he threw, accompanied by the sound of wind, flew towards the two assassins who had just drawn their guns. Faced with the unexpected attack, they couldn't help but respond. Although they were experienced, they clearly didn't expect their target to react so swiftly in a crisis.

With a reflexive dodge, they lost the upper hand, and when they pulled the trigger, they were already a few seconds slower than they had anticipated.

Those few critical seconds were decisive in a life-and-death situation.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

After two muffled gunshots, the bullets didn't hit Luo Ziling or Yang Qingyin.

As the bullets whizzed by, Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin had already dodged behind the artificial rock.

Missing their shots, the two assassins didn't retreat but immediately pursued.

They knew it was harder than ascending to the heavens for the target, shielding a woman with no resistance, to escape successfully.

But to their surprise, as they quickly moved in to shoot again, more objects flew towards them.

The female assassin reacted a bit slower, and a stone hit her left shoulder, causing her to let out a muffled groan of pain.

Luckily, it wasn't the hand holding the gun, otherwise, the silenced pistol would have been knocked out of her hand.

The male assassin was quicker, dodged the stone Luo Ziling threw, and immediately lunged forward again.

As expected, more stones flew at them, forcing the two assassins to quickly dodge, firing towards the direction the stones came from.

"Bang!"

"Bang".....

Several crisp gunshots rang out from behind.

The female assassin felt her body sway, followed by intense pain.

"Got shot," was her immediate thought, and she quickly reacted, diving forward, doing an exceptionally quick forward somersault, and hiding behind a column at the corridor edge.

The male assassin, positioned slightly ahead and reacting swiftly, didn't get hit.

But as the sound of gunfire erupted once more, bullets whistled from behind.

The male assassin knew the target's bodyguards had rushed to rescue them, and the best opportunity to shoot had been lost.

He still did not retreat, resolving to risk it all, aiming to shoot the target regardless of the cost.

But to his surprise, as he dove behind the artificial rock, the target had already disappeared.

Thinking quickly, he glimpsed the woman accompanying the target from behind.

Without hesitation, he aimed at her back and pulled the trigger.

Just as he pulled the trigger, a sharp pain shot through his hand, causing the gun in his grip to fall out.

Then a gray shadow rapidly lunged at him, startling the male assassin, who hurriedly dodged.

However, his speed was no match for his attacker, and as pain shot through his shoulder, he was sent flying. Before he landed, more pain struck, and his body was flung once more, in a different direction.

The counterattack was from Luo Ziling, who, as two bodyguards and Ye Xiaoli rushed with guns blazing, instructed Yang Qingyin to escape towards the bamboo grove while he launched his counterattack.

Easily sending the not-so-competent male assassin flying, he loudly ordered the reinforcements, "Capture that woman, don't let her escape."

He had deduced there were only two of them, with no other reinforcements.

With allies arriving, the enemy could no longer succeed, so Luo Ziling needed to immobilize the two assassins, preventing their escape.

Whether killed or captured, it didn't matter, the key was not to let them escape.

This was also a form of deterrence.

Zhu Yijun and Shi Yidan chased after the fleeing female assassin, while Ye Xiaoli dashed off to protect Yang Qingyin.

For Ye Xiaoli, her primary mission was to ensure Yang Qingyin's safety.

Today she had also failed, not spotting the abnormality at the first moment, and she was too far from Yang Qingyin.

Of course, she never dreamed that during a meeting, when Yanjing's security was tightened to the highest level, assassins would attack Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin in public.

The people trying to kill Luo Ziling were audacious, daring to strike at such a time, utterly mad.

As Ye Xiaoli raced towards Yang Qingyin, she didn't forget to fire a bullet at the male assassin.

Her shot severely disrupted the male assassin's attack, making it easier for Luo Ziling to gain the upper hand.

Luo Ziling struck again with a front kick at the struggling-to-rise male assassin.

Though the male assassin was also strong, in combat, he was no match for Luo Ziling.

Luo Ziling, facing extreme circumstances, was using his full potential, attacking without the slightest hesitation.

After receiving a heavy kick to the head, the male assassin screamed as he flew again to another side.

As he flew, he spat out a mouthful of blood.

A bamboo grove lay to the side, where the male assassin collided with the bamboo, bounced off, and landed right next to the pursuing Luo Ziling.

Luo Ziling delivered a timely airborne downward kick, pinning the male assassin to the ground.

The kick, executed with full force, landed with an overwhelmingly large power, resulting in an exceptionally heavy thud as the male assassin crashed to the ground.

Not waiting for the opponent to react, Luo Ziling delivered a forceful knee strike to the opponent's waist.

The male assassin's head and legs had barely flinched before his whole body went limp, collapsing on the ground unable to move.

Luo Ziling didn't spare the male assassin then, but kicked heavily again at his waist points and dislocated the opponent's hand joint before standing up.
