The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 1986: Extraordinary in Every Move

The officials were a bit puzzled, but they immediately noticed the young man supporting Ling Jinhua.

These officials had done their homework, and since Luo Ziling was a trending figure, they recognized him right away.

They were quite surprised at how casually Luo Ziling spoke in front of Ling Jinhua.

Luo Ziling's status in front of Ling Jinhua was unusual, which was the conclusion they quickly reached.

If it wasn't so, would Luo Ziling dare to speak so carelessly?

Even more importantly, Ling Jinhua didn't scold Luo Ziling, just glared at him and said nothing more, nor did he blame them.

After complaining slightly, Ling Jinhua didn't say much more, shook hands with the welcoming officials, and then let them go about their business, not to worry about him being idle.

Luo Xusheng was the lowest-ranking person among those who came to welcome them.

Despite having a senior colonel rank on his shoulders, he was still the most noticeable one.

After the other officials finished shaking hands with Ling Jinhua, Luo Xusheng stepped forward and saluted him.

Ling Jinhua waved him off and said gruffly, "Your father and son are behind; you should talk to them. They've been complaining all the way."

The officials in Jiangbei Province were unaware of Luo Xusheng's relationship with Luo Liansheng and Luo Ziling.

Luo Xusheng was an officer in the special forces, and the local government rarely had contact with the military district, let alone the secretive special forces.

The appearance of such an officer among the welcoming officials made them think he was in charge of security, not expecting him to have such a connection with Ling Jinhua.

Luo Ziling was known to be the son of Ling Jinhua's granddaughter, which the leading authorities in Jiangbei Province were aware of, but they didn't expect the senior colonel standing with them to be Ling Jinhua's grandson-in-law, which took them by surprise.

Luo Xusheng hadn't expected Ling Jinhua to mention him so publicly, making him a bit uneasy.

But in the end, he just smiled at Luo Ziling and Luo Liansheng, called Luo Liansheng "Dad," and had no other reaction.

"You all don't need to be busy; let him handle the arrangements behind," said Ling Jinhua, pointing at Luo Xusheng, telling the other officials, "I came to Jinling just to walk around and see. You're all busy, don't waste time on an old man like me."

Ling Jinhua's words made the officials present feel uneasy and in awe, and they all expressed that they had already arranged the day's schedule, prepared accommodations and meals for Ling Jinhua, and also needed to report their work situation to him.

Huang Chen walked to Ling Jinhua's side, bent down, and whispered a few words in his ear.

Standing nearby, Luo Ziling heard Huang Chen's words clearly.

Huang Chen meant that since the local officials had come to welcome him and needed to report their work to Ling Jinhua, it would be better to arrange a time to receive them.

Ling Jinhua thought about it and eventually agreed.

So, accompanied by a group of officials, Ling Jinhua quickly left the station.

The security specifications for Ling Jinhua's travel were of the highest level, with the Security Bureau already making arrangements.

As a result, their route had been planned in advance, and to some extent, traffic control had been implemented.

When the cars left the station, uniforms were seen everywhere, with people standing straight at attention by the roadside or intersections.

As the convoy passed by, they all raised their hands to salute.

Seeing this sight, Luo Ziling felt a vague sense of wonder.

After his visit to South Korea, on his return, he had experienced police escorts, civilians welcoming on both sides, and police saluting.

The feeling of such treatment was so excellent. Experiencing it again today, even though it wasn't for him, he still felt a bit excited. "Vanity can be deadly!" he finally remarked with amazement.

Ling Jinhua, however, was a bit averse to these, and he turned to say to Huang Chen beside him: "It was supposed to be just a private tour, why such a big fuss?"

The responsible person from the Security Bureau quickly explained that these were rules that no one could break.

He also said that the current security measures were very civilian-friendly, with no comprehensive traffic control or street clearing, trying not to disturb the public.

This made the security work much more challenging, but the daily travel of the people would not be affected.

Ling Jinhua then had no further comment.

Lunch had been arranged, and Ling Jinhua did not decline, dining with the welcoming officials.

Knowing Ling Jinhua's temperament, the reception scale was not high, just a regular eight dishes and one soup. Jinling duck was available, however, without his teeth, Ling Jinhua couldn't chew it. The wine brought by Luo Xusheng was Yue State Yellow Wine, while the hosting party provided the famous Maotai wine.

Ling Jinhua paid no attention to the Maotai offered by the officials and instead drank the Yue State Yellow Wine that Luo Xusheng brought.

During lunch, Ling Jinhua asked Luo Liansheng and Luo Ziling to sit on either side of him, and Luo Xusheng to sit beside Luo Liansheng.

The accompanying officials, seeing this arrangement, understood the situation instantly.

The Luo Grandfather and Grandson across three generations held an extraordinary place in Ling Jinhua's heart.

As a result, they immediately viewed Luo Liansheng, Luo Xusheng, and Luo Ziling in a different light.

Some even quickly retrieved Luo Xusheng's file.

After lunch, a few key officials also reported to Ling Jinhua the achievements Jiangbei Province had made over the years, as well as new developments, to which Ling Jinhua listened until Huang Chen sent them away.

Huang Chen informed the officials that Ling Jinhua needed rest after lunch, and that the afternoon's schedule would be decided after his nap.

The officials took the hint and left.

Luo Xusheng did not leave, continuing to stay with Ling Jinhua.

Back at the hotel, Ling Jinhua had Luo Liansheng, Luo Xusheng, and Luo Ziling accompany him for some tea before heading for his nap.

Before the nap, he instructed Huang Chen to take him to visit the Massacre Memorial Hall once he woke up.

Huang Chen originally intended for Ling Jinhua to rest well for the afternoon and plan the schedule for the next day. Seeing Ling Jinhua in good spirits and personally instructing a trip to the Massacre Memorial Hall, he readily agreed and immediately went to make arrangements.

After two accompanying nurses helped Ling Jinhua settle down for his nap, Luo Ziling, Luo Liansheng, and Luo Xusheng all left his suite.

Luo Ziling and Luo Liansheng's rooms were also in the same hotel, on the same floor as Ling Jinhua's suite.

So the three grandfather and grandsons went to their hotel to chat.

"Old Ling is still compensating," Luo Liansheng laughed heartily as he said to Luo Xusheng and Luo Ziling after sitting down, "He intentionally highlighted the three of us in front of other officials, so that everyone knows, in his heart, our family across three generations holds a special place."

Luo Xusheng and Luo Ziling were both taken aback, realizing that with an old fox like the old man, there was always more to every action. Luo Ziling was also very curious about what further benefits Ling Jinhua would grant them next.
