Damien's eyes widened as the splattered flesh and blood of the monstrous pope underwent a reversal. They manifested into a new body, injured and bloodied. But alive.
The monstrous pope fell to its knees, eyes blurred and body exhausted. It felt the Venom of Eightfold Death binding to its cells and ravaging them.
However... Its regeneration fought back, enduring against the rapid deterioration of its body.
It chuckled while glaring at the black-suited young man lying on the black surface of the gargantuan palm. "I am blessed by the Abominable."
"I wouldn't die so easily, you traitorous Aberrant!"
"You're like a pest-" Damien spat out blood as his lips curved into a subtle smile. "But you're already weakened by the venom."
"It's only a matter of time until your body explodes once again." He glanced at the smoke-tainted skies and felt his body recovering from the grievous injuries.
The monstrous pope hit hard.
Getting uppercutted didn't feel good at all.
"I'll kill you before then." The monstrous pope stood up, its legs quivering from the venom destroying its muscles. "The Abominable will be satisfied with my sacrifice."
The humanoid abomination glared at the lying black-suited young man. It walked forward, each step felt like an eternity of pain for the fallen Paragon.
But its hatred ran deep.
It wanted to kill and devour the traitorous Aberrant in front of it, presenting their corpse to its master, the Abominable.
"You think I'm helpless, huh? Have you forgotten how I fight?" Damien's subtle smile transformed into a smirk as Gryphos made its landing between him and the humanoid abomination.
The Griffin screeched as a bloodied crimson-haired vampire hopped from its back, walking towards the lying black-suited young man.
"You don't look good, Damien," Hecate remarked and crouched beside her partner. Damien chuckled, shaking his head in exasperation. "It was a worthy gamble."
"I just need a minute or two to recover."
She sighed to herself and smiled. "I sometimes wonder who's the vampire between the two of us. At any rate, let me end this farce."
Her face became cold as her velvet eyes narrowed towards the monstrous pope. But before she could stand up, she felt a hand grab her shoulders. "Be careful, Hecate."
It was none other than Damien.
"That cockroach might be severely weakened by my venom, but Brands don't follow logic. It can manipulate gravity to a certain degree."
"I don't know by how much, since whoever this bastard is. It isn't the fallen Paragon that betrayed the SIGIL."
"Alright, gravity manipulation..." Hecate nodded and glanced at the grinning bastard in the distance. "You don't look good."
"Well...well... Isn't it the traitorous vampire of the Clan? How does it feel to be so far away from home, little fang?" The monstrous pope tilted its head.
Little fang. She remembered her father and mother calling her with that nickname. It has been years since then, and she had almost forgotten them.
Hecate furrowed her eyebrows and glared at the monstrous pope. "I don't want that name leaving your hideous mouth."
She vanished and reappeared beside the humanoid abomination, striking it with a roundhouse. The monstrous pope was hurled to the mangled heart of Colossus, already rotting.
Besides the injuries inflicted by the Venom of Eightfold Death, the bastard remained unaffected, which made Hecate raise her eyebrows.
"So physical attacks are useless against this thing."
The monstrous pope looked at the rotting heart and felt the covenant of the Abominable. Its disintegrating face made a manic smile as it kneeled before the giant decaying heart.
"I shall be your sacrifice! Use my body and punish the sinners of this world!" Without any hesitation or delay, the humanoid abomination beheaded itself.
Hecate and Damien gazed upon the headless body of the monstrous pope who kept kneeling. It twitched, its arms moving to dismember its limbs.
The mutilated body of the humanoid abomination collapsed into the rotting heart of Colossus. An eerie silence pervaded the shaded surface.
"It killed itself," she remarked, staring at the dismembered corpse of the supposed cockroach.
"I don't think it's that easy," he said while standing up.
Damien watched the corpse with a scrutinizing gaze and felt something amiss. There was a growing sense of oppression that permeated throughout the palms of Eclipse.
It wasn't from the monstrous pope or the decaying heart of the Colossus.
The oppression was different.
As though an indescribable being had turned its gaze upon them.
The mutilated corpse of the monstrous pope twitched, quivering into an unknown frequency as the rotting heart of the Colossus was absorbed into it.
"Damn!" Damien squinted his eyes and took hold of his partner in front of him. "Hecate... The time is now! Whatever is emerging from those corpses is bound to be troublesome."
"We need to be ready."
Before the crimson-haired vampire could even react, Damien bit his finger and plunged the dripping blood into her supple lips.
"Drink it, Hecate... You must become stronger. From now on, either we complete the operation or die."
Hecate felt her partner's blood trickling into her tongue. Her cheeks turned crimson as she felt her heart pounding like a war drum.
Her first blood.
It was the most delicious delicacy she had ever tasted in her life, the sweetest and most appetizing.
She instinctively held his finger tightly and savored it with her tongue. Her mind was clouded with an intrinsic pleasure, which made her body quiver.
No wonder vampires became addicted to blood.
Hecate could barely control herself as she pulled out Damien's fingers from her mouth, sliding her tongue across her lips, tasting her partner's blood one last time.
With rosy cheeks and a cozy expression, she warned. "That was dangerous, Damien. You didn't give me a warning."
"I didn't want to waste time." He smiled and patted her head. "My blood must have been effective. Most of your injuries are gone, and you're gaining some color."
"I'm glad."
"It's beyond effective. It's dangerous." Hecate smirked and stood between Damien and the reviving abomination. "You should be careful during your sleep, Damien."
"You know how vampires can act when they get hungry."
"I'll keep your warning in mind." He felt amused before glancing at the status display gleaming in a bluish hue. For the second time, he was rich.

Over eight thousand Terror Points.
The amount he had reaped from this operation was the highest since his awakening in the New World. Understandable since it was no different from a war.
However... There was something within the status that made him frown. It was his command seals which was barely over sixty.
Against an enemy that might be stronger than the monstrous pope. It wasn't enough, which posed a problem for Damien.
He might have to rely on Hecate for his battle.
Fortunately, after being nourished by his blood. The crimson-haired vampire seemed exhilarated for the confrontation that was about to come.
Gryphos screeched, standing beside them and ready to tackle the transforming abomination.
The amalgamation grew larger than ever before, reaching heights that shook the gargantuan black hands of Eclipse.
Damien grabbed Hecate and leapt into the Griffin's feathered mane. He explained along the way. "Eclipse wouldn't be able to handle it."
"I'll call her back. We will have to confront whatever this abomination is in the Valley of Forsaken."
Hecate nodded in understanding as Gryphos flapped its wings and soared into the darkening skies. The amalgamation continued to grow while Damien watched and snapped his fingers.
In that moment, Eclipse descended into the fractured ravines and disappeared from existence. The amalgamation was left behind, and it kept growing further.
"The Venom of Eightful Death is losing its potency. This aberration keeps growing." Damien narrowed his sable-tinted gaze and commanded Gryphos to land amidst the sundered encampment.
"It seems that we shall make our stand here." He smiled as the earth shook. Behemoth and Orochi roared, standing behind their master, ready for the battle.
The amalgamation grew, surpassing a hundred meters. Its transformation ended after reaching 150 meters. It towered over them, looming like a ravenous mountain.
It was the Avatar.
