Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss

Chapter 096 | The Intelligence Headquarters of Block 5

Langley, Virginia.

The SIGIL Intelligence Headquarters of Block 5 was packed with operatives, all of whom had been summoned from around the New World. Their Paragon has been arrested alongside the strongest of humanity.

"Heard of why two Paragons got arrested?" An intelligence operative questioned as another replied. "I heard that our boss provided information."

"While the strongest of humanity, the White Devil, did the deed. The SIGIL Headquarters was destroyed; not a corner was left behind."

Hearing the news, the questioning intelligence operative was astounded. If it wasn't the director who got arrested, they would have considered it a rebellion.

"I doubt that the boss would have made a move without having a good reason." An operative shook their head as the others nodded in agreement.

The Jaegers of Block 5 trusted their Paragon with their lives. It doesn't matter if the Federation charged her with treason.

If they couldn't find solid evidence that supported the charges, none of them would believe it and side with the federal government.

"Rumors have it that members of Block 7 have now become fugitives. The Federation is trying to arrest them. Do you wonder if it has something to do with the charges?"

An operative remarked while a nearby one shook their head. "The Federation doesn't have our best interests in mind."

"I was tasked with spying on some of them, and you don't want to know how deep the well goes. If my experiences were correct, there is one reason why Block 7 got labelled as accomplices."

Hearing his words, several operatives raised their eyebrows and perked their ears. They wanted to glean what he wanted to say about the situation.

It was an instinct of an intelligence operative.

"The first reason is the fact that they are the newest division, and the second is their not-so-integrated members."

"If we'd had been any weaker, the Federation would have put the same label on us. The only reason they didn't is because we have dirt on them."

After his explanation, the operatives nodded in understanding as they gazed upon their troublesome circumstance through a new lens.

"Do the officers have a plan about the boss? We have to rescue her, right?" Block 5 couldn't merely abandon their Paragon.

They had to do everything in their power to drag her out of that tribunal. However, they didn't have the extreme firepower of a SIGIL Division.

After all, they were related to intelligence.

Most of their Brands were used to spy on others or gather more information about allies and adversaries. Block 5 was built upon their support capabilities of intelligence gathering.

Nothing more, nothing less.

"The officers are waiting for someone to lead the charge." An operative entered the conversation and continued. "I heard that it is a member of Block 7."

"The one who handled the operation in the northern fringes and annihilated a paramilitary army belonging to the Shadow Division."

"Thousands of armed personnel died in that battle alongside dozens of professionally trained Jaegers. The Monster of the White Devil."

When the group of operatives heard his words, an image flooded their mind. It was the third member of Block 7, an Aberrant who stood behind humanity.

"So, he's leading the charge, huh? Damien... Are they even sure that he's coming to our headquarters?" The operative sighed while another one shook their head.

"I wouldn't underestimate any intelligence officers. They know more than they let on. It would be better to stay quiet and let them handle the work."

"The only thing we need to do is provide all the information the vanguard needs." The unspoken truth was uttered, earning the satisfied grunts of the operatives.

None of them were frontline fighters who could fight against nobles and leave without a severe injury. If all of them were as capable as the other divisions in terms of power.

Then, there would be no reason for those divisions to exist at all.

The reason the SIGIL Seven Divisions existed was simple. It was because the New World required seven pillars to prevent the skies from falling and causing the extinction of humanity.

Some Divisions guarded the battlefronts, a few protected the Federation, while others shielded the SIGIL. One stood as the gatekeeper of humanity.

And that was none other than Block 7.

Two members were enough for that division, but now it had grown to six. Those with a brain or two would be horrified at the thought of the strongest division becoming even more powerful.

However, resistance was but a foolish endeavour for the ignorant. The strongest of humanity planned to establish a new generation for the New World.

Remnants of the Old World could only muster their power and prepare for what was about to come. It would be a change that would ravage the status quo.

For humanity must adapt and evolve to fight the tides of destiny.

Out of nowhere, a black-suited young man donned with a fedora stepped forward. He looked at the gathered intelligence operatives and smiled.

"Hello, may I ask if this is the SIGIL Intelligence Headquarters of Block 5?" The discussing operatives were interrupted as they turned their attention towards him.

Their eyebrows rose, confused as to who this seemingly normal Jaeger could be. What does he need from the Intelligence Division?

An intelligence operative stepped forward and nodded. "Yes, this is the Intelligence Headquarters of Block 5. How may we help you?"

"I'm here to meet with a comrade of yours. His name is Devon. I would like to meet him." Damien replied with the same subtle smile as before.

The operatives looked at one another as there was only one person that they were expecting. A powerful Jaeger belonging to the SIGIL Block 7.

"Are you Damien of Block 7?" Another operative questioned, to which Damien answered with a nod. Once again, the group glanced at one another.

They expected the infamous Jaeger to be much more oppressive, akin to an Aberrant in human form. He didn't seem to be that different from normal humans.

The thought brought chills into their minds as they weren't ignorant. The fact that infamous Jaeger was capable of doing such a thing made him much more dangerous than ever before.

"Alright, we will bring you to Sir Devon and the Intelligence Officers of Block 5." The group of operatives nodded, while Damien wondered what the officers needed to be included.

However, he didn't mind, as what he wanted was nothing more than information regarding the tribunal.

The arrival of Damien caused quite a stir within the yard of the Intelligence Headquarters as operatives gazed upon the infamous Jaeger of Block 7.

Inside their headquarters, the Intelligence Officers gathered in the meeting room after hearing the news of Damien's arrival. Devon also waited with them, staring at the door.

It soon opened as a black-suited young man in a fedora entered the meeting room. He glanced at every person inside, ending his gaze on Devon.

"It has been a short while, Devon." Damien nodded towards the intelligence operative, who nodded back.

"You have heard the news, correct?" Devon inquired as the black-suited young man gave him another nod. "I heard about the arrests of the fifth and seventh Paragons."

"I will be heading to where this tribunal is and end the farce," Damien uttered and added. "Miss Alastair is playing a game to make it appear that the Federation is in control."

"But they underestimate the lady they hold as the strongest of humanity. They should know better that she doesn't become obedient without a reason."

He shook his head in disappointment. Even after months of spending time with his boss, he acknowledged a tinge of her personality and views.

"We have the same thoughts. So, what do you require from Block 5, Sir Damien?" The elder, senior officer asked, gazing upon the black-suited young man.

"What I need is information. All intelligence you have regarding the tribunal." Damien responded as the officers glanced at one another.

An Intelligence Officer stepped forward and handed him a file. "This is all the intelligence we could procure regarding the tribunal."

Damien opened the file and read the information written inside. Whether it'd be the location, the forces, the Paragons, the identities of the judges, or the security network.

It was all written in the file.

He nodded in satisfaction and looked at the Intelligence Officers. "Block 7 is grateful for the assistance. I will ensure that Miss Alastair hears of your aid during our troubled times."

"No need... We merely want you to also break out our Paragon, the Intelligence Director of SIGIL." While a favor was intriguing, the Intelligence Officers had more pressing matters to handle.

"The fifth Paragon, huh? Alright, I'll see that she'll be freed from the federal tribunal." Damien smiled since he doubted that the seventh Paragon needed his help to begin with.

Miss Alastair was capable of breaking out on her own. He was confident of this conjecture. The same couldn't be said of the fifth Paragon, as he was ignorant of her capabilities.

If there was someone who needed his assistance, it would be the fifth.
