Isekai Dungeon Architect

Chapter 80: Against the Naga mother

"Huuuuu…" Finally done with all the planning and talking with the team captains.

It was an exhausting day for us once again.

Sadly… There was not much time to rest for us.

-Shrrrrrr…

With the planning wrapped up, we were immediately sent out for the final preparations.

The association's people in charge checked the resources on each team, confirming they had at least the minimum amount of resources needed for the operation for each of the teams.

I personally went through the final listings and made a proper spreadsheet composed of charts and easy-to-understand pictographs.

For the first time since coming to this world, I felt like I was doing the whole corporate drama once again. But, unlike in the past, this felt more like a duty than work.

It also wasn't simply because I was the one responsible for this mess. If anything, I still don't think I did anything wrong.

'My architect bias is one thing, but I just still can't wrap my head around people actually walking up to a giant snake on their own.'

I mean, after seeing that thing myself, I don't see myself walking up to it willingly.

It may have killed all those people, but a creature by nature is a being meant to kill.

'But then again, not all those who died were responsible.'

Anyway, the fact remains that planning and execution are two different things.

I may have prepared a few documents for them, but none of them would matter if the execution itself goes wrong.

And for the plan to work in any capacity, all of them would have to work together till the end… and I don't really see that happening.

'The fear that all of them will either end up dead or end up killing each other after the raid remains with me.'

But with the association keeping an eye on them, that fear might just be meaningless.

{ "All parties are to gather before the main dungeon entrance! Before the main dungeon entrance!" }

There were no problems just yet.

Everything was going well with the parties maintaining order. Following the lead was much easier for them than electing a representative from among themselves.

The workload on the association employees was much higher these last few days as well.

Even as all the raid parties had gathered before the main plaza, now empty unlike how it usually is, the association employees working for the raid were swamped with work.

'Preparing reports, arranging the extra items that were needed for the raid, analyzing everything going on inside the dungeon, there was a separate team dedicated to monitoring the floor.'

The city guards were deployed throughout the city to monitor any unusual activity that might happen during the ongoing raid.

The estimated time for this raid is set to be around 10 to 15 hours. But if anything unexpected happens, they have made sure the city is safe and secured for at least 24 hours.

'From the past instances where the dungeon had produced such an anomaly, the reports of a (Partial Dungeon break) have been found as well.'

In this scenario, the dungeon temporarily spits out the monsters inside of it, putting the place where the dungeon is at great risk.

'Though it has never happened before in the history of Westford, it's still a possibility.'

We cannot rule out the possibility of an internal conflict happening either. There's just too much that could go wrong.

But then again…

"Qwy!"

"Yes…"

As someone with the task of reaching the Safe zone area before anyone else, I'll have to make sure the safe zone is taken down before the fight actually begins.

And to do that, the association branch manager gave me a very good team that's being led by the same cool instructor I saw after the 3rd evaluation stage.

'He's cool and pretty… now only if we weren't in the middle of a war, I'd have had a better flirting shot at him.'

We had been working together for the last two days, and it's been all about work, work, and work.

We neither had any good time together, nor did I get the chance to tease him in any way.

But I must say he was great at what he was doing, unlike certain people who only existed to steal others' credit.

{ "The dungeon gates will open in 15 seconds! 15 seconds!" }

The announcements were being broadcast throughout Westford along with live public updates.

While people were being heavily restricted because of the state of emergency we were in, they could see a few highlights of what was going on.

The media outlets of the city and from outside of Westford had camped inside the city for this raid.

While dungeons weren't accessible to any unauthorized people, the city was filled with everyone who wanted to record and broadcast this event.

The representatives from the noble households had arrived in Westford as well, making the city guards' work harder.

'Reddy, however, was a part of the raid team, so she didn't have to deal with all those people.'

Also, since she was the lead alchemist, she was already inside the dungeon with the advanced units of the association.

They had made camps throughout the dungeon, checkpoints keeping the mobs under control.

The final raid was the biggest obstacle, and wasting energy on mobs would not be beneficial for us this time.

So…

{ "The dungeon doors are opening! Please be prepared! Party leaders, prepare to take the lead!" }

The gates were opening now, and we were at the forefront of the parties.

"Maintain the formation and stay on your toes." The silver-haired captain announced to his unit as they all stuck closer to me, surrounding me like a bunch of knights.

The smart snake would have sensed that something was going on with the floor.

With her highly developed senses, knowing everything going on the first floor would be a piece of cake for her.

She had special powers, and as a unique boss, she could control the beasts on the entire floor as well.

If need arises, she would use everything in her arsenal to deal with us just to protect the children.

'The battle would begin the moment we all enter the dungeon.'

What goes on during the battle remains unknown to us. But one thing is clear…

"It's going to be one hell of a rollercoaster."

The opponent is a mother who'd kill any number of mortals to save her children.

The lengths she would go to are beyond the high heavens, and with three unborn lives on the line, there's no telling how grand this carnage would turn out to be.
