"Damn it! The Corpse Ghost followed us!" The young Martial Saint was engulfed in purple light, his scalp tingling.
He instinctively clenched his fist, launching a purple light dragon, the glow striking the dark shadow.
"Ah!!" The Spirit Buddha let out a miserable cry, wounds appearing on his body.
The damage had transferred!
"Don't be hasty to attack!" The Nine Heavens Mystic Goddess stopped everyone, "First use the formation to seal it, then use the Sonic Wave Magic to send it off! Little Monk, I see you study Buddhism, guard your own reason!"
As soon as she finished speaking, four Fairies flashed out, standing at the four sides of the Spirit Buddha.
"Four Directions Locking Sky Formation!"
With a delicate shout, behind each of the four Fairies appeared the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Xuanwu.
The four Divine Beasts roared, opening their mouths in the void to bite out a chain, and the four chains firmly bound the Spirit Buddha and the dark shadow.
... The dark shadow wasn't bound, as if it didn't exist, the chains only locked the Spirit Buddha.
"Devotion to the Holy Pure Dharma Body: Infinite Light beyond description;"
"Devotion to the Holy Perfect Reincarnation: Lotus Department and Lord of Joy and Anger;"
The Spirit Buddha tightly closed his eyes, chanting the "Scripture of the Dead," layers of Buddha light draping over him like a Kasaya.
This scripture could allow evil spirits and wrongful souls to attain a top-grade rebirth, avoiding the three evil paths of hungry ghosts, animals, and hell.
Two more Fairies chanted liturgies, and Witch Yueji took out bells and danced a sacred dance.
The corpse stood behind the Spirit Buddha, undisturbed by the chanting of the Buddha scriptures, the Daoist liturgies, or the dance of the Witch.
"Ksitigarbha..." The Spirit Buddha suddenly fell silent.
He seemed to be choked by something, with an expression of suffocation as if unable to breathe underwater.
"Useless?" The Nine Heavens Mystic Goddess's expression grew solemn.
Before them, Earth's righteous methods for dealing with souls had almost all been employed, yet they couldn't do anything about this Corpse Ghost!
Li Changzhou stood still, a black hand appeared, exploring forward, tearing apart the Four Directions Locking Sky Formation, and grabbed the Corpse Ghost.
"Roar..."
Everyone heard the beast's angry roar from the void.
The black hand forcefully pulled.
"Ah——" The Spirit Buddha convulsed violently, if not for his extraordinary will, he would have certainly died from the pain.
His bones, along with the Corpse Ghost, were half pulled out of his body by the black hand!
Only a skeleton, a blood-drenched skeleton, was half extracted from his body!
"Your Majesty..." The Spirit Buddha sweat like rain, "Please proceed, continue... pull!"
His lips trembled, his complexion ashen as paper.
The spine had already been half-extracted, unable to straighten his back, hunched there, he clasped his hands, softly chanting:
"All suffering is cultivation, cultivating in prosperity, can never attain Buddhahood, Lama Khin, Lama Khin."
Shh!
"Hmm!!" The Spirit Buddha let out a muffled groan.
The black hand grabbed the dark shadow corpse, behind the corpse was a slightly golden human skeleton.
The Flowers Fairy opened her hand, gently blowing on her palm, flowers blossomed furiously, supporting the Spirit Buddha who had lost the Buddha bone, the fragrance permeating, gradually calming the Spirit Buddha's convulsed body.
Flower dew soaked the Buddha body, helping him heal his wounds, regrow bones, yet this was again an ordeal of immense pain.
[This little monk has a good heart.] Everyone glanced sideways, even Guanyin praised.
"Don't rush to recover your bones, I have a law here, see if you are willing to practice it." Li Changzhou raised his hand and pointed, passing the "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Origin Scripture" transmitted by Guanyin to the Spirit Buddha.
The Spirit Buddha was silent for a moment: "Thank you, Your Majesty, this humble monk is willing."
"Have you thought it through, once cultivated, if you do not completely transcend the Corpse Ghost and refine it into a Buddha bone, you cannot achieve Buddhahood for a day."
"No regrets, no remorse."
The Spirit Buddha chanted the "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Origin Scripture," the black hand holding the corpse bones suddenly flipped, pressing the corpse bones into the Spirit Buddha's body as bones.
The Spirit Buddha's body twitched like a prawn dropped into an oil pot, passing out from the shock.
This had already surpassed the limit of the Immortal's endurance.
"Wake up!" Li Changzhou stepped forward.
With a loud shout, the Spirit Buddha's body bounced like struck by lightning, and he began to chant the scriptures intermittently again.
The Turquoise Pool seeing that Li Changzhou subdued the Corpse Ghost, said: "Everyone disperse, be mindful of your surroundings, leave this to him."
The planet continued its course, and everyone spread out.
[Although the Ksitigarbha King did not achieve Buddhahood, he possesses the Buddha's mana, the only difference being he cannot wield the Heavenly Will. The little monk is certainly not as good as the Ksitigarbha King, but the Ksitigarbha King took an extreme path, as long as the Mortal World doesn't perish, how can hell be empty? Refining a Heavenly Will Corpse Ghost is incredibly difficult, but it's a path that can be taken.] Guanyin sighed.
[Bodhisattva, your path is not easy either.]
[Originally thought there was plenty of time, but who knew the Value game would start, leading the world towards ultimate lawlessness.]
Having experienced many events, Li Changzhou had a question: [I see other civilizations, except for the Saints, were not purged, why is it only the Earth's cultivators who suffered the catastrophe?]
Guanyin shook her head; even the Buddha didn't know the answer, how could she?
[Heavenly Will is hard to fathom.] She could only sigh like this.
Li Changzhou protected the Spirit Buddha, ensuring he smoothly integrated the Corpse Ghost into his body, forging it into bone.
Yet turning the Corpse Ghost into a Buddha bone would require an extended period, extraordinary insight, and the perseverance to endure pain and counterattack at every moment.
Despite having the Heavenly Road across the stars, such arduous cultivation is laborious and thankless, where the slightest carelessness might lead to being killed without Heavenly Will's protection.
The only thing worthy of admiration is the spirit.
Is spirit important?
Different people have different answers, and there isn't a definite answer.
The only certainty is, not to ridicule those with spirit.
If one's vision extends further, unsatisfied with the Heavenly Position, but wishing to become a Saint, daring to challenge oneself, enduring suffering, isn't that spirit more important?
Yang Qinglan in the past, Spirit Buddha now, everyone began to contemplate their own paths earnestly.
