Author's note: POV changed to Raj
Jambavan and Vyaghra came like a storm, grabbed Zarven and Vasrik, and vanished like lightning.
I had already beaten most of the weakened fighters, so it was just me against a thousand spirit warriors at full energy.
Previously, it was just a hunch, but now I was completely sure. Both the enemies and I were at the last level of the Low-Tier realm; however, I was illogically stronger than them. So at the same realm, there was none who could defeat me.
And if I were to use all the skills in my arsenal, defeating an awakened sage wouldn't be that difficult either.
However, fighting multiple awakened sages was still not possible, as I had already been almost beaten to death by just three of them.
"Does that mean an awakened sage is as strong as a thousand spirit warriors?" I wondered. "The gap between a Mid-Tier awakener and a Low-Tier awakener is certainly huge."
Tang!
Clash!
Clang!
Sounds of my sword clashing against numerous weapons coming from every direction echoed through the battlefield.
Each time I swung my sword, I felt myself growing more in sync with Vajra. My slashes sharpened, my thrusts grew stronger, and every angle became more precise.
A moment later, lightning began to leak from my hand, slowly wrapping itself around Vajra's blade.
The sword trembled in my grip, roaring with an ear-piercing shriek as it transformed into a golden light as bright as the sun, countless tiny electric bolts flickering along its entire length.
Ding...
"Your sword skills are significantly improved."
Ding...
"Your sword skills are leveled up.
Intermediate sword skills → Advance sword skills."
Ding...
"Congratulations! You have learned Sword Aura. More information is not shown as the Host is currently amidst a battle."
Ding...
"More information about the epic artifact: The Roaring Blade Vajra is unlocked. The details are automatically not shown to avoid disturbing the Host in battle."
"That's one hell of a notification," I gasped, but instantly turned my focus to the blade that was ready to cut through the heavens and earth alike.
"Is-is that Sword Aura?"
"N-no way, it's impossible! Only a True Sage can use sword aura!"
"T-take a look at how the sword in his hand is shrieking. It's definitely sword aura."
The awakeners, who were already terrified after seeing me fight so many of them alone, lost the strength in their legs; some even shat their pants the moment Vajra in my hand shone brighter than the brightest star in the sky.
"What is this sword aura thing that made these fighters tremble like ants?" I murmured and swung my sword vertically for a Lightning Slash, completely unaware of the destruction I was holding in my hand.
With a thunderous echo, a humongous arc of golden lightning as large as the city walls emerged from the tip of Vajra and soared forward, destroying everything in its path.
The arc didn't stop even after traveling miles and struck the camps of El Dorado, erupting every last one of them into huge flames.
"Alert! 50% Soulforce remaining!"
"Holy shit..." I gasped, immediately putting my sword into the inventory.
"If that attack was targeted at us, all of us would have died."
"Wh-who could even defeat this monster?"
"And that beast woman hasn't even made a move yet. She can use flying techniques, so she is at least a lesser spirit beast."
The army gasped, completely baffled by the accidental attack I had just made.
While the fighters were still in a dilemma about whether to attack me or not, a melodious feminine voice that I could recognize even in my sleep came from the sky.
"You are indeed a heaven-defying prodigy," Ume declared, standing on the large petal that floated in the air.
"There's no one on this battlefield that can pose a threat to your life."
Her finger moved toward Theon, who was still mounted on his horse at the back of the battlefield.
"I will return in half an hour. Defeat everyone here and kill that man before I return," she ordered.
With a wave of her hand, several plum blossoms coiled around her body and slowly vanished along with her presence.
Ding…
"You have received a sub-quest: The Goddess' Expectation.
The Goddess' Expectation: The Goddess of all beasts—Gumiho—has very high expectations from the Host. Defeat all the enemies and kill their commander within half an hour.
Status: Pending
Reward on completion:
1. All stats +10
2. Information on how to enter the Sea of Soulforce.
Penalty on failure: Disappointment from Ume."
While I was reading the screen, several vines tore through the earth beneath me and bound my limbs, keeping me in place.
"Hahaha, that lesser soul beast bitch is gone," an awakener barked. "There is no need to be afraid of this fucker any—"
"Blink."
Before he could complete his statement, I grabbed his mouth with my hand, my eyes glaring with wild fury.
"Lightning Bolt."
His head popped into a million pieces, erupting into a fountain of blood, bones, and flesh.
"If anyone dares disrespect my woman again, I will make hell look like heaven to you," my words resounded across the area, sending shivers down their spines.
The attackers were about to lose their will to fight, but then the fast steps of horses padding came from behind the thousands of attackers.
"How could you be scared of only one individual?" Theon shouted, entering the battlefield.
"Sure, this person is slightly stronger than a regular Spirit Warrior and can even use Sword Aura, but he is still only a Spirit Warrior. If he uses Sword Aura again, he will be drained of his Soulforce."
Drawing a large red scythe with fang-like blades from his ring, he declared, "Whoever brings me his head, I will give them ten thousand kilograms of Grade 1 Mid-Tier Soul Stones!"
"Grade 1!!!"
The attackers' synchronised gasps filled the area. Their horrified visages instantly twisted into faces drooling with greed for the stones.
"Oh, the miseries... everybody wants to be my enemy," I sighed, dragging a tired hand from my forehead down to my chin.
"Vivi, activate Jambavan's Blessing."
