Return of the Mythic Bloodline

Chapter 197: Vivi is gone?

"Yo, forever loner… you look… like an old man…" I whispered, struggling to speak with my weakened body.

"Li-little shit, I'm already… sniff-sniff… married," Aryan murmured, tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Hehe… you look hilarious… while crying…"

He slowly moved toward me and scoffed, wiping his tears.

"I'm not… sob-sob… crying! I just got some dirt… sob-sob… in my eyes."

"Uncle Raj, you woke up!" the little girl sitting beside me exclaimed.

"Inayat, introduce yourself to Uncle Raj," Aryan said, pulling himself together.

The little girl joined her hands in respect and announced in a cute, stuttering voice,

"Namaste, Uncle Raj. Inayat is Inayat, and she is four years old!"

"Is this little angel… really my niece?" I murmured with an uncontrollable smile. "She has inherited her cuteness from her uncle."

Aryan picked Inayat up in his arms and muttered with moistened eyes,

"What took you so long to wake up, brat!?"

"I didn't get enough sleep due to college exams, so I accidentally slept a little longer," I replied sarcastically.

"Even now you're cracking these lame jokes!" Aryan sighed.

He extended his hand toward me in a fist and said,

"Welcome back, little shit!"

With some effort, I raised my hand, curled my fingers, and bumped my fist against his.

"It's nice to meet you again, geezer!"

"Little shit… geezer…" Inayat murmured, copying us.

"I will tell Mumma that Uncle Raj and Papa are using bad words!"

She pulled away from Aryan's arms and ran outside the room.

My brother's appearance had completely changed from what it was five years ago. Previously, he was skinny and slightly underweight, but now he seemed lean and muscular. He had changed his brown hair from a buzz cut to a man bun and had grown a beard with an imposing curly moustache.

"What's with your look?" I asked, pushing myself into a sitting position. "Have you started modelling as well?"

"Keep lying. You shouldn't move—"

Clang!

Before he could finish his sentence, the sound of a plate falling echoed from the room's entrance.

"Th-the patient has woken up from a coma?" a green-haired lady with large round spectacles gasped, dropping the plate of glucose and injection drips in shock.

"Guild Master!" the lady snapped. "How could you be so irresponsible!? Don't you know you must call the doctor first when a coma patient suddenly regains consciousness!?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, Vedika. I was so excited that I forgot," Aryan replied, scratching his temple and averting his eyes.

His negligent reply only fueled the fury of the green-haired lady further.

Several veins appeared on her forehead as she threw Aryan out like trash, closed the room's door, and turned her focus toward me.

"Hello, Mr. Raj. I'm Vedika, the doctor personally assigned to take care of you. How are you feeling?" she asked in a gentle voice, her fiery expression doing a complete 180.

"Whoa! I've never seen my brother being treated like that since his business bloomed. This woman is like a lioness," I gulped inwardly before replying, "H-hello, Dr. Vedika. Thank you for taking care of me. Except for sore muscles and bones, I don't feel anything unusual."

"Hmm… hmm… sore muscles and bones…" she murmured, writing in a diary she pulled out of nowhere.

Her eyes gleamed with excitement as she asked,

"May I do a quick check-up on you?"

"Y-yeah, sure."

She tied her hair back into a ponytail, rolled up her sleeves, and moved closer, a wide smile tugging at her face.

"Hehehe~ I will become the first doctor in the world to check up on a person who has awakened from Mana Overload!"

---

"What's with this woman!? It's my first time seeing a woman on Earth with green hair like hers. At first, I thought she dyed it, but even her eyebrows and eyelashes are green. She seems more like an awakened woman from Vyoman.

But that can come later.

First, someone tell me if what she's doing is really considered a test!?"

She joined both my hands with hers, our fingers interlacing, and sat still with her eyes closed.

"Umm… excuse me? What kind of check-up—"

Suddenly, a green translucent energy radiated from her hands and began wrapping around my body, leaving me utterly stunned.

"She is an Awakener!!!???" I exclaimed inwardly.

"Did she also get teleported here from Vyoman? But why is she showing her powers to me so openly? Don't tell me she's going to use some kind of memory-erasing spell to make me forget everything!"

While I was having all kinds of wild theories, she slowly opened her eyes, parted her hands, and said,

"There is nothing wrong with your body. The stiffness you're feeling is because your body hasn't moved for the past five years."

"Umm… excuse me, Dr. Vedika, what was that green light just now?"

"It's my mana, duh!"

"Mana?"

"Oh right, you were unconscious before the Day of Awakening, so you mustn't be aware of it."

She leaned back in her chair, crossed her arms, and took the posture of someone about to tell a very long story.

"It might seem like a childish story to you, but what I'm about to tell you is completely true."

---

"This is all. You may call me if you need anything," she said with a wink and exited the room, her hands in the pockets of her white coat.

The wild story she told left me completely flabbergasted. If what she said was true, Earth had also turned into a magical world like Vyoman, and many people had become Awakeners.

The strange part was that the Day of Awakening happened on the same day I was teleported to Vyoman.

"Could this phenomenon be related to me somehow?" I thought inwardly. "I should confirm this fantasy story Vedika told me with Aryan before coming to any conclusion."

"Vivi, show me the status screen!"

"…"

"Vivi?"

"…"

A bead of sweat rolled down my temple, and my lips trembled in desperation as I called for Vivi again and again. I eventually stopped when there was no response even after calling dozens of times.

"D-does that mean Vivi doesn't have access to this body? But won't I just become a regular person without Vivi? How will I—"

While I was having these thoughts, the door slid open and a soft, cracking voice called out,

"R-Raj?"
