Due to the height and heavy weight difference between this body and the one I had in Vyoman, I couldn't move the way I wanted to. But as I continuously fought these zombies, I grew more and more accustomed to this body. My movements became cleaner, and my strikes grew sharper.
"Congratulations! The Host has successfully broken through! The Host's realm has increased.
Mid-Stage Formation Realm → Late-Stage Formation Realm
All stats +10"
"The maximum capacity of Yin-Yang energy has increased!
Yin energy: 250/600
Yang energy: 250/600"
"There are still twenty of them left," I murmured and deliberately punched the bark of a tree to draw the attention of the remaining zombies.
When they got closer, I broke a thick branch from the tree and let the Yang energy from my fist wrap around it. Several small leaves bloomed around the branch, pulsating with life as heat surged through the wood, turning it tough and unyielding.
"Alert! High amount of Yang energy is being consumed! Rate of consumption: 1 Yang energy per 2 seconds!"
"There's no need to worry since I have an almost unlimited supply of Soul Stones. By the way, it's been so long since I last used a mace. Let's see if my skills have grown rusty."
Tightening my grip around the blazing mace, I began smashing the heads of the incoming zombies like a baseball bat hitting home runs one after another, slowly moving closer to the centre.
"Yin energy +5"
"Yin energy +5"
.
.
.
"Yin energy +5"
"Guess these were the last of them."
As I moved closer to the center, I found more and more veins of Soul Stone crystals appearing underfoot, half-buried in the earth and tangled with the roots of the trees. Just by looking at them, I could tell they were all Low-Tier crystals of the worst grade, so I didn't even bother mining them.
"RROARGHH!!"
An ear-piercing, howling voice echoed from beyond the large bushes ahead, shaking the leaves of the trees.
A wide smirk appeared on my face upon hearing the scowl. With a swing of my mace, I burned down the bushes, revealing the source of the sound.
A grey-skinned zombie wearing full-body heavy iron armor, with long hair reaching all the way to his hips, stood in front of me. One of his eyeballs hung outside, connected only by a thin nerve, while the other eye socket was completely hollow.
"WARNING! High-Threat Entity Detected"
"Designation: Undead Knight
Classification: Undead
Threat Assessment: EEE-Rank
Status: Hostile
Reward on defeating the monster: 350 Yin energy"
"Ughh! It's creepy as hell!" I muttered, feeling revolted. "However, the reward for defeating it looks quite tempting."
The cornea of its suspended eyeball suddenly moved and stared at me. Letting out another screeching growl, it drew its rusty greatsword and bolted toward me with a twisted movement.
I immediately raised my mace to block its heavy attack. The moment our weapons clashed, a dull thud echoed, and several cracks appeared on the branch I was using as a mace.
Not giving me even a moment to retreat, the monster unleashed a relentless barrage of attacks. Though I managed to block each blow, every strike sent bone-crushing shockwaves rippling through my arms and legs.
After the tenth strike, the wooden mace broke apart, unable to withstand the impact of the heavy metallic sword. Yet the monster didn't stop and swung its blade again, this time coming straight down at my body.
I immediately threw away the broken mace, clenched my blazing fist, and struck the deadly blade with an uppercut.
A booming sound echoed from the impact, hurling both me and the monster's sword backward.
"Yang energy -150"
"Tsk… when was the last time I struggled in a one-on-one battle?" I muttered, staring at my bloodied hand, which had been sliced between the ring and middle fingers.
I was thrown several feet backward, while only the monster's sword was pushed away.
"I need to avoid direct clashes with its sword."
Its cornea vibrated once more in a disturbing manner before locking onto me.
"GRAORRRR!!"
"Shut your mouth, bastard!"
As it bolted at me, I grabbed a stone from the ground, wrapped it in Yang energy, and hurled it forward. The stone struck the thin nerve holding its eyeball and severed the connection, making the eyeball fall to the ground.
"GRAAGH!!!"
The creature screamed, either from the pain or the sudden loss of its vision.
Taking advantage of the moment, I instantly climbed a nearby tree and reached the branch directly above the monster.
Using the same familiar method I had used to create Lightning Bolt, I materialized a suppressed sphere of bright Yang energy in my fist.
"Eat this, monster!" I muttered as I descended from the branch.
The suppressed ball of Yang energy slammed directly into the monster's head, creating numerous cracks across its skull. The energy surged inward through the fractures, radiating outward from its facial orifices before blasting its head into pieces.
The monster's headless body collapsed with a heavy thud, and I dropped beside it, my chest heaving as ragged breaths tore from my lungs.
"Yang energy -50"
Ding…
"Congratulations! You have learned a new skill: Pure Yang Orb.
Description: Materialize a condensed sphere of destructive Yang energy that detonates upon striking the target.
Highly effective against opponents with strong Yin energy.
Cost: 50 Yang energy"
Ding…
"Congratulations! You have defeated the Boss Monster: Undead Knight."
"Alert! The Yin energy from the Undead Knight is about to dissipate! The Host does not have enough Yang energy to absorb the corresponding Yin energy."
Sigh… "You won't let me—huff… huff…—rest for a moment."
I drew a Soul Stone from my inventory, and as I absorbed its Soulforce, a black fog emerged from the monster's body and began flowing into mine.
"Is it because it has high Yin energy that I can actually see it?" I thought inwardly, pushing myself to sitting postion.
Ding…
"You have absorbed enough Yin-Yang energy for a breakthrough."
"Beginning the breakthrough to the next realm…"
A sudden surge of energy erupted within me, repeatedly crashing against an invisible wall.
I closed my eyes and entered my Sea of Soulforce to observe the changes occurring within me. However, what I found, was completely unexpected.
