Return of the Mythic Bloodline

Chapter 215: Shinku no Sabi

When I was checking the weapons in the vault, I was using Vivi's abilities to scan their class and type. Most of the weapons were of the Uncommon or Rare class.

The Burning Scythe was the only weapon of the Elite class, and I had also thought of selecting it. However, when I saw the class of that rusty sword, it showed Legendary. I didn't know how this class system worked, but one thing I was sure of was that Legendary was definitely a higher class.

So, to satisfy my curiosity, after reaching home and giving the toys I had promised to Inayat, I went straight to the large backyard of the mansion with the long wooden box in my hand.

Placing the box on the ground, I asked,

"Vivi, tell me more about the ranks and classes of weapons."

"Initializing Host's request…"

Class and Rank

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Artifacts are evaluated using two separate metrics: Class and Rank.

Class represents the qualitative tier of an artifact—its origin, material purity, craftsmanship, and inherent potential.

Rank, on the other hand, represents the artifact's relative standing within its own class.

A higher Class always takes priority over Rank.

ARTIFACT CLASSIFICATION:

The recognized weapon Classes, from lowest to highest, are:

Common → Uncommon → Rare → Elite → Legendary → Epic → Divine

RANK DESIGNATION:

Each Class is further divided into Ranks, ranging from:

E → D → C → B → A → S

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. An artifact's Rank does not allow it to surpass the boundary of its Class. In simple words, an S-Rank Elite-class weapon is still fundamentally inferior to an E-Rank Legendary-class weapon.

2. Artifacts of the Divine Class cannot be directly obtained. When a Divine artifact is abandoned, its Class is reduced to Elite, and it becomes a growth-type artifact. A similar phenomenon can be observed for Elite-class artifacts as well.

I spent the next few seconds carefully reading and digesting the information before asking,

"So that means Vajra was a Divine weapon since it's an Elite growth-type?"

"That is a possibility, but it could also be an S-Rank weapon of the Elite Class. Divine weapons that can be found in the entirety of Vyoman are only in double digits. When the Host's authority increases, the Host will be able to unlock information about Divine artifacts and how they are ranked on the Divine Artifact Leaderboard."

"I never knew the lore of these artifacts was that deep," I murmured before turning my focus toward the wooden box.

"Well, I'll think about those Divine artifacts later. First, show me the details of this baby," I said, grabbing the brown, rusty katana in my hand.

"Th-this katana is awesome!!!" I exclaimed after reading the window screen.

"Wait a minute! Why does Blood Debt say it requires intermediate sword skills when I already have advanced sword skills?"

"Oh right, my advanced sword skills were locked due to a lack of stats—but does that mean I have to start from the beginning, Vivi?"

"Once the Host's stats all reach 500, the Host's advanced sword skills will be automatically unlocked. To unlock intermediate sword skills, 200 stats are required."

"Well, that's not that far away then," I snickered and began sword practice with the katana.

Vajra was a longsword with a widened blade and required more strength to wield. However, for a katana with such a narrow blade, precision and slicing angle were far more important.

For the next five hours, I continued the dance with my newly found partner and only stopped after Mother called for dinner.

"Huh? It's already dark," I mumbled, wiping the sweat from my body with my T-shirt.

"You little shit, are you preparing for the upcoming Sexiest Man Alive title?" Aryan demanded, coming into the backyard. "How the fuck did you achieve a physique like that in just fifteen days? All those muscles, and you still look so lean. Give your elder brother some tips!"

"Five hundred push-ups, five hundred sit-ups, fifty Sun Salutations, and fifteen kilometers of running," I said, drinking water from the bottle.

"Tsk, don't tell me if you don't want to!" He scoffed before ordering, "And put on some clothes, your sister-in-law is waiting."

Sister Aisha was standing behind him, her back turned toward me.

"Geezer! You should've told me that sooner!" I shouted, quickly putting on my T-shirt.

"Brother Raj, I heard you selected that rusty katana from the weapon vault," Sister Aisha said, finally turning after I dressed properly. "If you did it because you felt burdened taking a higher-quality weapon from the vault, then I will be very angry and disappointed in you."

"It's nothing like that, Sister Aisha!" I insisted. "I like swords, and I felt something unique about this blade, that's why I took it."

"Really?" she asked, looking like the spitting image of Inayat.

I nodded to reassure her, so she continued, placing her bag on the ground. "You were just practicing, right? Show me what you've learned."

From the bag she had just placed on the ground, she took out a claymore sword half the size of her body.

"H-how did you put such a large sword in that handbag?" I asked, surprised.

"It's a kind of space bag where we can store large items like swords to carry them easily," Sister Aisha explained.

"How many items can you store in it?"

"Only one, of course," she laughed, moving forward.

"Wait—wait—wait, that's not important right now," I blurted. "I can't fight with you, Sister Aisha."

"Don't be scared, little shit," Aryan said, sitting on the ground with his back leaned against the mansion wall, a popcorn bag in his hand that he pulled out of nowhere.

"She won't be using her mana to spar with you, just pure physical skills."

"But what if I accidentally hurt her?" I asked, worried.

"Hahaha! You heard his words, darling?" Aryan laughed and continued with a wide, revolting smirk. "He thinks you're a weak woman."

His words—obviously meant to piss Sister Aisha off—did their job astonishingly well.

The kindness on Sister Aisha's face disappeared as she muttered in a low voice,

"Brother Raj, I'm currently at AA-Rank. Even if I don't use my mana, you mustn't underestimate my physical prowess. Give it your all so I can properly assess your skills and guide you."

"Oh sorry, Sister Aisha. I didn't mean to offend you," I apologized and grabbed Shinku no Sabi in my hands.

"She's right. Judging by the physical prowess of that EEE-Rank monster, an AA-Rank Awakener must be extremely strong physically. I need to give it my all," I thought inwardly, taking my stance against her.
