"That's not possible! There are fifty more monsters of the same type coming this way," Alex revealed, his voice underwhelming.

"Hah! Fifty trolls!?" Dhruva scoffed. "There's no way a C-Rank gate can have that many trolls. Generally, there is only one troll in a C-Rank gate, and that too is a boss monster."

Dhruva was completely unaware of the fact that it was Alex who had sensed the previous troll from over a kilometre away.

Alex flinched upon hearing Dhruva's rude remarks, and just as he was about to turn around, I asked, "How far are they?"

Alex halted in his steps and, after a brief pause, replied, "Five kilometres."

"Huh!? Why are you even entertaining that kid's jokes?" Dhruva asked me, confused.

"Fifty of these monsters will be troublesome even for me," I murmured, not even batting an eye at whatever Dhruva was saying.

"Instructor Payal, I cannot fight these monsters while protecting all of you," I announced after taking a few seconds to think. "Alex and I will move ahead and kill the monsters. You and Instructor Ashish protect everyone here."

"But Mr. Raj, it's too dangerous for the two of you to go alone," Payal protested.

Not just her—everyone, including Dhruva, turned pale upon hearing my decision. They must have thought that I was abandoning them to survive on my own.

Well, it was true that I wanted to be separated from them. This dungeon had only one route, so as long as these people stayed here, they wouldn't be in any danger. I was going to kill all the monsters on the path using my own methods.

"Instructor Payal, it will be even more dangerous if we all stay here and get surrounded by monsters at a dead end," I countered.

Payal wanted me to stay but couldn't come up with the words to convince me. I turned to Alex and asked, "Wanna come with me?"

He gave a slight nod and moved toward me.

Just as we were about to leave, a flustered female voice came from behind.

"Mr. Raj, can't we come with you?" Nisha asked, her lips shivering in fear.

"Trust me, Nisha. You'll be safer here than at the place I'm going."

When none of them raised any further objections, Alex and I left the group, taking the dark path once again.

"Ughh! I should have been more careful while cutting those goblins," I muttered as the gross odor from the goblins' chopped bodies and organs filled the tunnel.

"Alex, can you tell me more about your abilities?" I asked as we ventured deeper, trying not to step on the corpses of goblins.

After taking a few seconds to respond, Alex slowly parted his lips and said, "When I focus my mana into my eyes, I can see any creature or object that contains mana within a range of fifty kilometres. These eyes also show me the power of all creatures within that range."

"Woah! Your eyes are awesome!" I exclaimed, genuinely amazed. "However, why didn't you inform us about the goblins on the ceiling? You must have seen them with your eyes."

"The Clover Eyes consume a large amount of mana to activate," Alex revealed. "I only activated them when the portal suddenly disappeared."

"Oh, is that so?" I murmured before continuing my questions out of curiosity. "You can also see the strength of an individual with these eyes, right? Tell me—who was the strongest in our group?"

"It was obviously you," he replied, his voice carrying a hint of annoyance. He might have thought I was a narcissist who just wanted to hear those words, or perhaps he was simply getting irritated by my constant questions.

"That's strange. Both Payal and Ashish are CCC-Rank, while I'm currently at C-Rank."

"The eyes don't show me the rank of an individual. They inform me about the overall prowess of a person," Alex replied, strangely uninterested in my rank.

"Hmm, that makes sense then," I thought inwardly.

"Also, there are two monsters here who are only slightly weaker than you—and one monster who is much stronger than you," Alex revealed.

"So, except for the Troll King, there are other monsters who can challenge me as well," I thought inwardly before asking, "How far are the fifty trolls you sensed earlier?"

Alex's clover-shaped pupils began glowing bright white as he gazed into the abyss ahead.

"They've only moved a few metres from their original position, but they're heading toward this path."

"This path? You mean there are other paths in this tunnel as well?"

He nodded as he explained, "About five hundred metres ahead from where we previously turned back, the tunnel splits into three paths. Each path leads to a different wall of a large central hall, where a hundred monsters of the same level as the previous troll are present—along with two monsters slightly weaker than you and one monster far stronger than you."

"That must be the boss room."

After a few seconds of silence as my mind planned the next course of action, I turned to Alex and blurted out, "Hey! I got an idea on how to get rid of those fifty trolls."

"H-how?" Alex asked, slightly surprised by my sudden declaration.

"We will use the tactic of divide and conquer."

Before Alex could ask me about the details of the tactic, I pulled him up by the back of his collar, his feet leaving the ground.

"Wh-what are you doing—"

"We need to hurry. Brace yourself, Alex!" I ordered, cutting him mid-sentence.

In the same instant, I moved the hand grabbing Alex back and jolted him forward like a javelin.

"Aaaaghhhhhhh…" Alex's terrified scream echoed through the tunnel as his body shot through the air.

After flying for more than hundred metres, just before gravity was about to claim his body, I used Void Step, catching him by the collar again.

"What are you doing, fucker!? I thought I was a goner, you fucking idiot!? You—beep—piece of—beep-beep….."

"Wo-wo-wo," I gasped, shocked by this completely unexpected reaction. This was the greatest number of curses I had heard in my whole life.

"Hahaha! You have talent at cursing, Alex," I laughed before tightening my grip on his collar again.

"H-hey fu-fucker… don't tell me—"

"One more time!!"

I jolted my hand forward, sending him for another awesome ride as he left behind a trail of screams and curses aimed at me.
