For using an unorthodox method to increase their cultivation realms, the demons were punished by the Heavenly Will, stripped of the strongest ability a cultivator learns upon reaching a High-Tier Realm.
Soul Domain.
It is the manifestation of one's soul in its most powerful form. No two Soul Domains can ever be the same, as every being possesses a unique soul shaped by different experiences along their path of cultivation. Mastering a Soul Domain is extraordinarily difficult and can take decades to unleash its full potential, unless the wielder is a prodigy.
Aruma—the Battle God—mastered his Soul Domain in just five years, while Voltrex took eight.
---
"Soul Domain: The Deity of Sky Mountains."
The moment those words left Voltrex's mouth, the ground beneath them began to tremble. The air thickened, and something started to materialise in the night sky, painting it in a vast, oceanic blue light.
"Th-that's the Hundred Sky Mountains," Taranis murmured, his eyes wide as goosebumps ran down his body while he stared at the sky.
High above, countless glowing blue mountains materialised, obscuring the dual moons behind them. The sky above the mountains darkened as clouds gathered, crackling and roaring with blue thunder.
And then it happened—something Taranis had never expected. The very reason Stormir had concealed them all behind multiple layers of barriers.
From behind one of the mountains, a colossal hand emerged, its fingers gripping the zenith itself.
Soon after, a face appeared—vast as the zenith, its features resembling Voltrex's, yet composed entirely of blue spiritual light. Enormous… unimaginably enormous.
At the center of its forehead was a diamond-shaped slit, within which Voltrex himself stood.
Taranis's eyes snapped toward the ground where Voltrex had been standing just moments ago, only to find nothing but scorched earth.
When did he appear there? he wondered, but the thought faded quickly as it was insignificant compared to the absolute display of power unfolding before him.
Within seconds, the spirit titan climbed atop the mountain and stood proudly upon its peak. Draped in a long robe, it wielded a massive, razor-sharp sword crackling with thunder—so large it rivaled the mountain itself.
"Wh-what monstrosity is this!?" Azhryx murmured, unable to comprehend the spectacle above him.
The entire sky had been swallowed by mountains, as though another world had descended upon Vyoman.
The titan standing atop the mountain raised the hand that carried its blade. With even the slightest movement, thunderous storms formed, from which lightning crackled downward, striking the demons lying helpless on the ground.
In the very next moment, the blade descended.
Reality itself fractured along its path, lightning dancing around the sword amid deafening, thunderous roars.
The Archdemons standing behind Azhryx instantly shot into the sky, positioning themselves against the descending blade to protect their king.
Pouring every last fragment of Soulforce from their bodies, they struck at the blade, desperately trying to halt its advance. Yet their efforts were utterly futile.
The sword shattered their attacks without the slightest resistance before cleaving into the Archdemons themselves.
The moment the blade drew close to their bodies, the Archdemons—the strongest Mid-Tier demons, each possessing the power to single-handedly level an entire country—were annihilated, scorched out of existence by the terrifying lightning surrounding the sword.
The blade never even touched them. They could not endure even the sheer aura lacing it.
Witnessing this catastrophic might, chills of absolute horror ran down the spine of the Demon King.
Without wasting another second in shock as the blade continued its descent, Azhryx formed hand signs in rapid succession. With each movement of his hands, countless small waves of blood surged forth, drawn from the dead and unconscious warriors scattered across the battlefield.
The blood was absorbed into Azhryx's body, violently amplifying his power while terrifyingly increasing the size of his demonic form.
By the time the blade reached above his head, he had already grown to half the size of the Deity of Sky Mountains, and caught the sword between his two hands, clapping them together.
The ground beneath Azhryx tore apart, the sheer weight of the sword forcing him deeper as violent thunder roared from the point where he had caught the blade. Trails of lightning spread across his crimson arms, breaking through his hardened skin like a spiderweb.
Blood gushed from his mouth under the immense pressure the sword emitted.
The aftermath of Azhryx's futile attempt to halt the impending doom instantly shattered thirteen layers of the barriers shielding the humans behind him.
Although Taranis stood within the barriers, far from the raging lightning storm, flying debris, and earth-shattering Soulforce, he could still feel the overwhelming pressure unleashed by the clash of these two cultivators.
"So this is the might of the strongest cultivator of the Western Continent," Taranis murmured, his golden eyes never leaving the scene before him.
After pausing for only a moment's breath, the sword finally descended, severing one of Azhryx's arms.
"Aaghhhhhhhh!!!"
Azhryx's agonised scream echoed across the battlefield as rivers of blood poured from his shoulder.
Before he could even process the pain of losing his arm, the other hand of the Deity had already reached the ground, seizing Azhryx by the neck.
Azhryx's feet left the earth as the Deity lifted him upward, drawing his face closer to its own—toward the diamond-shaped slit where Voltrex stood.
"It was a mistake to mention my wife with your filthy mouth," Voltrex said, his voice low, tightly suppressing the fury raging within him.
Without waiting for Azhryx to respond, the Deity's other hand struck Azhryx in the gut with the sword's hilt, sending him flying into one of the sky mountains materialised by Voltrex's Soul Domain.
The mountain split in half upon Azhryx's impact, only to be completely torn apart moments later when the titanic Deity followed with a devastating kick to Azhryx's face.
Another ten layers of the barrier were instantly destroyed by the aftermath of Voltrex's assault.
Azhryx's body was hurled into yet another mountain, slamming into it with tremendous force. His face was already twisted and shattered beyond recognition from the kick, yet he managed to cling to life by shrouding himself in Soulforce at the last moment.
However, in doing so, he merely delayed the inevitable.
Before he could steady himself, the titan was upon him once more, unleashing a barrage of meteoric fists.
Each strike shattered reality itself, broke through the barriers below, and obliterated a mountain before sending Azhryx flying into another, where the same destruction followed.
Realising that the Demon King could no longer even retaliate, the Deity grabbed Azhryx by the hair with one hand while swinging the blade with terrifying precision in the other.
The sword slashed cleanly through Azhryx's neck, beheading him completely.
The lifeless, colossal body of Azhryx crashed onto the barrier, shattering the final two layers, while his severed head remained clutched in the hand of the Deity Voltrex had manifested.
"The Demon King is dead!!!!" Voltrex roared, raising Azhryx's severed head high into the air.
"The war is over!!!"
