Ren Feng took out the bottle of wine and smiled as he looked at Martin and Andy, among others.
"Rapha, 91, packaging intact."
Ren Feng quickly glanced at the label on the wine bottle, and the surrounding white people were a bit surprised. Could this Huaxia monkey actually understand French?
Rapha wine has markings on the outside of the bottle, indicating the estate, year of production, similar to a person's ID card, but it's all in French. Can this person understand it?
"But that's just the first step, the next part is key," Michelle said disdainfully on her face.
Yet Ren Feng kept smiling, and after examining the appearance, gently pulled out the cork without shaking the bottle. He poured a small amount of red wine into a bright and transparent glass, only filling it about 5 centimeters from the base of the glass before stopping.
Ren Feng held the base of the glass, tilted it at a 45-degree angle, and smiled at Michelle standing nearby, "Could you step aside a bit? You're blocking my view of the wine tasting."
"You!"
Michelle was angry but had to step back.
The surrounding whites still showed disdain in their eyes; although Ren Feng's actions were correct, he was just a Huaxia monkey. Why so arrogant?
However, Alice's eyes were full of admiration; she knew Ren Feng was definitely not simple.
Ren Feng continued tasting the wine, looked at the red wine, and finally spoke, "The color is rich and red, not clear, with some impurities; it has a fairly bright sheen, barely meeting the requirements for clarity."
Afterward, Ren Feng tilted the wine glass at a 45-degree angle to observe. At this moment, there was a watery substance at the junction of the wine and the glass wall, showing a faint amber color, which indicated that the wine was at least 10 years old.
"Feng, did you notice anything?" Alice asked nervously from the side.
Ren Feng smiled slightly, looked up at the others, and spoke calmly, "Under normal circumstances, dry red wine with a bright red color represents young wine, usually aged 1 to 4 years; purple indicates the wine is middle-aged, about 4 to 8 years; amber means the wine is mature or old, usually 9 or 10 years old or older. The vintage of this wine is actually not bad."
Upon hearing Ren Feng's words, the white people were already slightly surprised; this is professional wine tasting terminology, which an amateur couldn't possibly know.
Many whites slightly changed their gazes.
But Andy and Martin still had cold looks in their eyes.
"Time for the next step."
Ren Feng smiled as he gently shook the wine glass again, saying, "Shaking allows oxygen to fully integrate with the red wine, releasing the unique aroma of the red wine to the fullest extent. From the aroma, this bottle of Rapha is quite good, though based on the speed at which the wine flows down the glass wall, the quality isn't too high."
"Dear Feng, why is that?" Alice asked from the side.
"Because the thicker the wine, the slower the flow, indicating better quality. Clearly, this bottle isn't," Ren Feng responded with a smile.
The surrounding whites were somewhat surprised; how, how is this possible, how could this Huaxia person know so much?
"So, the next step should be to smell the aroma."
Ren Feng tilted the glass 45 degrees, letting the tip of his nose into the glass, immediately inundated by a delicate, pleasing, and elegant rich fragrance.
"The taste, as mentioned earlier, is indeed nice, with a sense of freshness and sweetness, albeit with a slightly heavy sweet taste."
Martin's expression changed a bit as well. Ren Feng's technique was like that of a veteran wine taster, all steps carried out flawlessly, without the slightest error.
He was definitely proficient in wine tasting; otherwise, he couldn't be so adept.
The surrounding whites no longer had discriminatory looks, instead, eager to see what Ren Feng's commentary on the wine would be.
Afterward, under the crowd's gaze, Ren Feng lightly tasted the wine. After drinking, he didn't swallow immediately but let the wine fill the surroundings of the mouth, the sides of the tongue, the tongue's back, tip, and extend to the bottom of the throat.
"This wine really can't be considered good wine; its aroma is medium in intensity but not rich nor complex; the taste is simply fragrant and sweetly thick, although there is an aftertaste, it isn't long-lasting, and the most important point, the oak taste isn't enough, completely ruining that special feel. Mr. Martin, am I right?"
Ren Feng looked at Martin and smiled slightly. Martin also poured a glass to start tasting, but as Ren Feng said, this 91 Rapha couldn't be considered authentic.
"If it's Rapha, the taste of the 82 Rapha is the best; it was the year of the best wine-making conditions of the century, with rain and temperature highly fit for vine growing, yielding the finest tasting wine. But nowadays, there seems not to be much Rapha from 82."
Ren Feng smiled and said, the surrounding whites long ago lost any sense of disdain; this Huaxia man was definitely a genuine wine connoisseur.
And after Ren Feng finished this, he didn't stop; he started tasting other wines on the table.
"Brandy, elegant aroma, mellow palate, this must be 40 degrees brandy, but I prefer apple-based..."
"Whiskey, hmm, with peat flavor, it should be from the Islay in Scotland, where only whiskey with malt smoked by peat can have such a taste, mostly produced on Islay..."
"Rum, whew, refreshing, from neat spirits to 'water cut,' this potent rum, still better when it's black rum..."
Everyone was dumbfounded; the white people watching were all shocked staring at Ren Feng, because this Huaxia man started tasting directly from the first boat on the table, without even looking, and could accurately name the wine, its origins, and features.
What kind of tongue is this?
Martin was also stunned. He hadn't thought this Huaxia man so formidable; how many wines should one taste to be capable of this?
The faces of Andy and Michelle were exceptionally ugly, turning blue and white; Ren Feng's action was undoubtedly a slap in the face.
Who says I can't taste wine?
Who says I don't know wine tasting?
On this table, there were no less than over forty types of wine, and Ren Feng could taste them all; isn't he the wine master then?
The surprised white people suddenly reacted and started clapping loudly.
"God, he really is a true wine master."
"Yes, even Martin can't compare to him; he is a wine master worthy of respect!"
"His tongue must be God's tongue, I've never seen any wine master with such deep prowess."
For a while, everyone looked at Ren Feng, who was still tasting wine, full of praise.
