Martial Redemption Dojo, late in the night.
"He lost…?"
Aoi said in surprise while sitting on the mattress, combing her long silky black hair as she was getting ready to sleep for the night.
"Yes. The way he lost was quite bad. I am not sure if he ever again wants to go in a ring to fight."
Kiernan said.
He was standing by the window, looking out to the empty streets, and drank some protein shake.
"From what I've heard, he did pretty well, though. You do have a talent for training, and you only had one week with him.
"Imagine if you had two or three weeks!"
Aoi said excitedly.
While she tried to cheer him on, she also meant it. It wasn't easy to train someone from scratch to this kind of level in just a week.
"It is just a matter of getting students now. I don't know if Jock wants to keep on training."
Kiernan said and lay down on the mattress with Aoi shutting down the light, letting the darkness fall over the room.
"I am sure everything will go well. Just give it some time."
"…There is a tournament in a couple of weeks that I have kept my eye on. It would be a prime chance to show my dojo out to the world.
"It's primarily for kids under sixteen."
Kiernan said.
"I would want my students to participate in that, but I would only have a few weeks to train, and that's really not much time."
…
The following morning, the sun peeked over the horizon, bathing the land of Montrael in its golden glow.
With the school bell ringing, the students poured into the class, and with a backpack slung over his shoulder, Lumian entered the class.
"Congratulations for winning the tag-team competition, Lumian!"
"It ended as expected, but good job to you and Della!"
Several of his classmates immediately congratulated him for his victory over in the tag-team competition.
Lumian replied to the congratulations with just a nod and smile, not caring much about that victory.
After their victory over Cleo and Jock, they met Minnie and Markus in the finals of the entire competition.
It was a good match, but in the end, Lumian and Della emerged victorious. It was only really close because Lumian's head really wasn't in the match.
He was too occupied with everything that was going on with him.
"Whew…"
Lumian sat down on his seat, put the backpack hanging from the back of his seat, and looked across the class.
At the front row, Jock and Cleo were talking to each other like two good friends. They had gotten much closer after yesterday.
It made Lumian feel like there was a massive crevice in their friendship now that he would never be able to bridge.
His actions yesterday were not good at all.
'Uncontrollable Demon…'
Lumian scratched the back of his head, gritting his teeth, as he had been thinking about that all day yesterday.
He barely caught any sleep thinking about that.
"Hey!"
In that moment, Della greeted him with a bright smile and sat next to him, but after not receiving "hey" in return, she turned to look at him in curiosity.
He wasn't paying any attention to her, as if she were a ghost, and instead was engrossed in his own thoughts.
The class started. It lasted forty-five minutes.
When the class was over, the bell rang, and the students started stuffing their books back into their bags and started heading out.
"I am thinking about visiting that dojo of yours today."
Cleo said with a smile as she walked with Jock out of the class. Lumian was walking closely behind them, and so he heard it.
'She is going there…?'
Lumian thought in surprise.
"You are…?"
Jock said in surprise.
"Mmh, I assume you will also be there?"
Cleo asked in surprise.
"Ah…"
Jock let out a surprised "ah," and he thought that he wouldn't go back there ever again, but last night, he didn't sleep at all.
He couldn't help but keep thinking about the competition and everything that he did wrong. He actually wanted to keep practicing.
He wanted to keep going to the Martial Redemption dojo and become stronger with the help of the Iron Style.
Then one day have his revenge match against Lumian!
"Yes, I will be there."
Jock said with a smile and nudged his glasses.
"…"
Lumian walked out of the class and looked at the direction where Cleo and Jock went. He went in another direction and walked to the stairs.
Ahead of him, there were a couple of male students walking up the stairs, talking to each other.
"I can't believe that Cleo is wasting time with that ugly nerd.
"Yeah… She is definitely giving him some wrong signals. That nerd must think that she likes him or something."
"Yeah, he should know his place!"
In that moment, Lumian walked through them, pushing them aside with a forceful shove, and the two of them almost stumbled down the stairs.
"Hey, watch it!"
"W-Wait, dude, that is Lumian Ok… He is not someone you should fuck around with."
"Why the fuck should I care? Bastard pushed me!"
The male student shouted angrily.
At that moment, Lumian turned around and punched the male student in the face. It sent him stumbling down the stairs.
"Eek!"
His friend screamed, and at that moment, Lumian buried his fist deep into his abdomen, making him cough out his breakfast.
"Nobody likes talking-behind-the-back bitches."
Lumian said, grabbed the male student from the back of his head, and tossed him down the stairs.
There were screams in the hallway—some students and teachers came to see what was going on.
They looked over at the top of the stairs but didn't see Lumian anywhere, and it honestly just looked like the two students got into an altercation and both fell down the stairs.
"What are the two of you doing? Don't fight with your friends!"
The teacher said angrily.
"…Argh."
The copper-skinned male student opened his mouth, thought about telling the truth, but he was scared that Lumian would seek revenge.
"I-I am sorry… It won't happen again…"
