With the yellow wheel of fire burning high in the sky, Kiernan stood before the Ok Family Dojo with an impressed look.
It was a big place, taking a large portion of the surrounding landscape, and the sound of thunderous training noises came from inside.
There was a constant stream of people going in and out of the place.
Ahead of him, a gentlemanly man opened a door for a young woman, who nodded as thanks, and with the same opening of the door, Kiernan entered the dojo right in front of the nose of the gentlemanly man.
There were four receptionist desks. There were young children, under the age of eight, sitting in their small martial arts uniforms.
It looked like they had come for their first lessons.
There were people of all ages going to Ok Family Dojo, and they even had classes for very young children.
'Will my dojo look like this one day? It would be pretty overwhelming. It takes decades to build up a dojo to this size.'
Kiernan thought, waited in a line patiently, and ten minutes later, reached the front of the line with a pretty lady sitting behind the desk.
"Hello, have you come to register for a class?"
The pretty receptionist asked with a smile.
Since Kiernan looked rather young, she thought that he came here for martial arts lessons, but several of the young children noticed him.
"Mom! Mom! That's Kiernan!"
"What are you talking about, Lucas? You must be mistaking him for someone else."
"N-No, I have his poster… It's him, mom!"
The children said excitedly, and their parents looked over, but they couldn't catch that good of a look at his face.
"Actually no. I came to meet with Master Sozen Ok."
Kiernan said to the receptionist.
"Do you have an appointment?"
The receptionist asked with a pen in hand, which she twirled around her middle finger, and tapped on the desk as she waited for Kiernan's response.
"No. I don't. I am Master Kiernan Hunter, and I'd like to have a quick talk with him if he is currently free."
Kiernan said.
"…Kiernan Hunter?"
The pretty receptionist's eyes widened in recognition, and when she looked deeper into his handsome face, she recognized it.
It made her giddy inside, but after all, she still had to do her work, and after clearing her throat, she said.
"Even the masters have to get appointments. It is professional courtesy. I can make an appointment for you, and you can come back another day, if that is possible."
She said.
"Unfortunately not possible. This matter is regarding his son, Lumian. Could you just talk with him and see if he has time for a short conversation with me?"
Kiernan asked with a handsome smile.
"Mmh…"
She looked troubled, but in the end, she nodded and picked up her phone to make the call.
Sozen seemed to answer the phone as her stature turned all stiff and rigid. There was much more professionalism in her tone now.
It was a short call, and after putting the phone away, she turned to him with a smile and said.
"Master Sozen Ok is willing to meet you. You can take the elevator over at the end of the left hallway and go straight to the eleventh floor. He'll be there currently enjoying his brunch!"
"Appreciate it."
Kiernan said, left the line, and went straight to the elevator. The sight of the elevator alone surprised him.
He couldn't even imagine one day having his own dojo with an elevator and multiple stories that were all as big as a mansion.
After pressing the eleventh floor button, the elevator took him straight there, and then the doors slid open.
The floor was a restaurant floor, but it was currently closed for anybody else, as Sozen Ok was currently eating at the end of the floor.
He was sitting at a low table, sitting on his knees, and enjoying a traditional meal, its steamy aromas wafting through the air around him.
"Master Hunter, what an unexpected surprise."
Sozen said.
He was eating a bowl of rice and vegetables while also having some steamed fish on his plate.
Sozen never talked when he had food inside his mouth. He always chewed and swallowed before speaking a word.
"I apologize for disturbing your day."
Kiernan sat on his knees before the table and glanced over at the kitchen. It was interconnected with the rest of the restaurant.
The cooks at the kitchen, sweating and busy with orders, looked to be paying no mind to him, but Kiernan was able to notice the few glances.
Even though they were responsible for cooking the meals, they were still powerful martial arts practitioners.
"You've come here to talk about my son. What about him? He is currently over at the school, and if you came here to talk about how he injured your student, I am not interested.
"Injuries happen all the time in martial arts. You should know that better than anyone. Your students will get injured. Deal with it.
"I can't even count how many students I have lost because they've suffered injuries that they never recovered from."
Sozen said.
"Of course not. I came to talk to you regarding the way your son fought."
Kiernan said.
"Oh, that? I saw a video of it, and it was just my son getting overly excited."
Sozen said, and took some fish in his mouth, and started chewing while Kiernan was about to continue talking.
"I believe your son has Uncontrollable Demons. It is a mental conditioning that makes him lose his control over actions and become overly aggressive.
"Are you aware of that condition?"
Kiernan asked.
"…I am not."
Sozen said with a frown.
'It was referred to as Uncontrollable Demons over on Earth, so maybe it has a different name over here.'
Kiernan thought to himself and then continued.
"I knew he immediately had Uncontrollable Demons when I saw how he fought. I also had to suffer through Uncontrollable Demons.
"If he does not get those impulses in control, he will with certainty become a mass murderer, so I am worried for him.
"He needs to get those impulses in control right at this instance."
Kiernan said.
"…Is that so?"
Sozen wiped his lips with a napkin.
It was hard to tell what he was thinking about.
