Lynch hovered in mid-air, his gaze as sharp as a blade, carefully observing the source of the elemental chaos within the island, trying to determine the specifics.
Just then, several dull roars echoed from deep within the island, akin to the cracking of the earth's veins. Immediately after, denser smoke mixed with chaotic elemental lights of various colors shot skyward, dyeing the sky over that area into a realm of chaos.
The rampant elemental energy was like a wild horse unleashed, shooting in all directions, causing the trees below to sway violently. Some areas even began to ignite into flames or condense frost out of thin air.
"Everyone, go this way quickly!"
"Hurry and follow, mind the residual energy currents!"
"Is everyone okay? Do a headcount!"
The chaotic and urgent shouts came from where the smoke was thick. Then, a dozen or so figures, somewhat disheveled, scrambled out of the chaotic area. Among them, some relied on their cultivation to fly through the air, others managed to ascend through the use of magical tools like flying carpets or brooms, each in a different stance, but all without exception bore expressions of lingering fear.
Lynch swept his spiritual power slightly, and instantly took in the situation of this group of people.
Within the group were both Official Wizards and young people dressed in apprentice robes, their power levels varied. The one with the highest cultivation was a middle-aged male Wizard with a steady complexion but furrowed brows, emanating energy fluctuations of a Second Tier Mystic Technique level, seemingly the leader of this group.
It seems these are the stationed wizards and apprentices on the island who encountered an unexpected situation. Without hesitation, Lynch moved silently towards the group.
With his current cultivation at the Domain Peak, his spiritual power was refined to the extreme; to these low-level Wizards and apprentices, his presence blended seamlessly with the environmental background, leaving no trace. Only when he had already approached the group did a sharp-eyed female apprentice inadvertently catch sight of him, pointing in his direction with uncertainty and anxiety:
"Dean Brant, over there… there's a person over there?"
"A person?" The Mystical Wizard known as Dean Brant turned his head fiercely at her words, looking in the direction the apprentice pointed. As he glanced, his body hair almost instantly stood on end—an unfamiliar figure, having appeared silently at a distance no more than ten meters from them!
Such a close distance, and he hadn't noticed at all before!
Dean Brant's face changed suddenly, reflexively raising the Magic Wand in his hand, magical power at the Secret Skill Level surged instantly around him, forming a simple protective force field to shield the apprentices behind him, his eyes filled with vigilance and suspicion as he shouted sternly: "Who are you?!"
Seeing the situation, Lynch immediately raised his hands to indicate no malice, explaining calmly: "Don't be tense, I mean no harm."
As he spoke, his mind moved, and a document, emitting a faint magical glow and bearing the emblem of the Falan high council, appeared out of thin air and floated towards Dean Brant.
"Dean Abbas agreed to let me come," Lynch continued, "to collect some specific materials from your island."
Dean Brant's sharp gaze swept over the emblem and signature on the document, sensing the unique Magic Seal belonging to Dean Abbas on it, finally easing his tense expression slightly, though the astonishment in his eyes remained.
He cautiously took the document, examining it carefully, while involuntarily scrutinizing the unfathomable young Wizard before him once more. Anyone who could hold the personal authorization of Dean Abbas and approach them so silently must have power likely far exceeding his own.
After carefully examining the document Lynch handed over, feeling the unmistakable magical emblem aura unique to Dean Abbas on it, Dean Brant truly relaxed his tense nerves. He put away his Magic Wand, managing a slight apologetic smile, and nodded:
"It indeed bears Dean Abbas's emblem, my apologies, sir."
He paused, his tone carrying a touch of helplessness and urgency as he continued: "According to protocol, we should offer you a guide and fully cooperate with your material collection on the island. However… as you can see, there's a sudden situation on Strange Tree Island, making it temporarily inconvenient to host anyone or ensure safety."
Hearing this, Lynch raised an eyebrow slightly and directly asked, "What happened?"
Dean Brant shook his head, looking puzzled: "I'm not entirely sure of the specifics. Recently, I've vaguely sensed an abnormality in the island's overall elemental flow, growing restless and unsettled. I was just about to report it before today, when suddenly... several areas simultaneously experienced an unpredicted Elemental Burst!"
"Elemental Burst?" Lynch frowned slightly, a hint of doubt rising within him.
Logically, an island cultivated by Wizard Power as a significant resource site for years should have its elemental structure organized to extreme stability, with essential protective and balancing Witch Arrays to ensure no incidents occur easily, let alone such extensive, multi-point simultaneous explosions.
"Is it an invasion by an external enemy?" He speculated subconsciously, but then immediately dismissed the thought. This is, after all, Falan's core airspace, heavily guarded; how could any entity infiltrate it silently to cause such harm? Even among the other three of the Four Great Witch Realms, achieving such a feat would be nearly impossible.
Dean Brant had evidently considered this possibility as well but found it equally baffling. He looked at Lynch, sincerely suggesting: "Sir, if you urgently need these materials, you might have to find another time. I will immediately report the situation, requesting headquarters to dispatch specialized investigation Wizards to handle it."
Lynch shook his head, his gaze sweeping over the still chaotic island below: "I need these materials soon, I can't wait that long." His tone was calm yet carried an undeniable weight, "Since I've encountered this, let me take a look at the situation by the way."
Before Brant could respond, Lynch's gaze swept over the somewhat disorganized group of wizards and apprentices hovering in the air by various means. Their flying carpets flickered unsteadily, and their brooms wobbled, evidently unable to sustain much longer.
"It seems you currently don't have the appropriate vehicle to return to Falan, do you?" Lynch said, "Floating like this is likely not a feasible option."
Dean Brant's face displayed a look of embarrassment and difficulty: "The incident occurred suddenly, we didn't have time for extensive preparation… Moreover, the area where the Flying Aircraft is docked has also been affected by this Elemental Burst, making it temporarily inaccessible."
These individuals, including himself, a Mystical Wizard, lacked the capability to fly for a long time and traverse the thick atmospheric layer below to return to the Main Domain of Falan.
Seeing this, Lynch said no more, only stating lightly: "Let me help you out a bit."
He then placed two fingers into his mouth, blowing a clear, long whistle. The whistle penetrated the clouds, spreading far and wide.
In just a moment, the distant sea of clouds parted as though a giant creature cleaved it, and a Single horned White Whale, a thousand meters long, whose body resembled moving mountains, elegantly yet swiftly broke through the clouds, swimming toward their direction. The enormous presence brought a sense of pressure that seemed to freeze the surrounding air slightly.
Dean Brant and the Wizards and apprentices behind him, seeing this legendary Sky Giant Beast being summoned so tamely, all widened their eyes, their faces full of shock.
"A Single horned Giant Whale!" Brant gasped in shock, then as if recalling something, turned sharply, looking at the calm Lynch beside him with a gaze of disbelief, his voice slightly trembling from excitement:
"You… You're a Domain Wizard!"
It was only at this moment that he truly realized the immense power of the seemingly young Wizard before him. To tame and command such a powerful World Species as a mount, the identity and strength of this person were beyond words. His earlier wariness and somewhat procedural attitude now transformed entirely into deep reverence.
