Wizard: Start with Biological Transformation to Grind Experience

Chapter 14: Soul Law

The cultivation of the Soul Law, although unlike the Knowledge Law which requires exhausting vast Classics and exploring the Truth of the universe, nor like the Spirit Law which depends on Talent, accumulated meditation, and mysterious enlightenment, is equally not an easy process. It is even more abstract and difficult due to its unique trait of "seeking inward".

It resembles a long and profound self-philosophical speculation and spiritual practice.

Its core lies in constantly forging and repeatedly questioning one's own soul essence, like a most demanding craftsman examining a piece of uncut jade, requiring the Wizard to scrutinize every past choice, every experience, every emotional fluctuation, searching for "flaws" and "imperfections" in the soul, and attempting to understand, compensate, and even transcend them.

The reason for this is because the fundamental purpose of cultivating the Soul Law is precisely to make one's soul more resilient, purer, and more complete.

Life is long, and along the way, even the most wise and powerful beings will inevitably make mistakes, leave unredeemable regrets, experience thoughts of irreparable return, grieve for long due to certain losses, or have their spirits distorted by certain obsessions...

Each occurrence of these negative emotions, unfinished matters, wrong choices will leave an invisible "mark" or "trauma" on the soul level.

In ordinary times, these "hidden wounds" on the soul may be deeply concealed, neither showing mountains nor oceans, almost having no impact on daily spell casting or power usage.

However, when the Wizard attempts to take that crucial step, to ascend to the Realm of Rules, trying to merge their will and existence into the cold, vast, and objectively operating Rules of nature, these hidden cracks become fatal weaknesses.

Rule Power, like the vast universe's will, requires the fusion to have a soul container that is sufficiently resilient, sufficiently perfect, capable of bearing its grandeur and majesty.

A soul full of wounds and with flaws, in the moment of merging with the Rules, is akin to a cracked porcelain being thrown into a high-pressure environment, most likely to be directly torn apart and assimilated by the vast and ruthless will of the Rules, resulting in failure to ascend, or even the outcome of soul annihilation.

Therefore, the cultivation of the Soul Law is essentially a process of continually "checking for omissions and filling gaps", repairing one's soul to make it become "flawless".

As to how specifically to proceed with this inner practice, different Wizards have completely different paths and Magic Techniques. One relatively common and widely used method is to enter the world for training.

Many Wizards seeking soul ascension choose to seal most of their power and memory, journey to the ordinary Human World, and start life anew as an ordinary person. They may change identities, experiencing lives as farmers, scholars, craftsmen, soldiers, merchants, and more, repeatedly reincarnating and experiencing in the mundane world.

The purpose is not to pursue power or dominance, but to face various possible situations, experiencing joys and sorrows, loves and hates in this constant repetition and seemingly ordinary cycle of life.

They attempt to find scenarios corresponding to the hidden soul wounds in these "simulated lives", and respond in different ways, thereby compensating for past regrets, resolving years of obsessions, correcting past mistakes.

Every successful repair of a soul "flaw", every place in the heart becoming harmonious and clear, makes the soul essence more solid, and the understanding and level of the Soul Law advance one step forward.

This process is repeated until the Wizard, through countless introspections and trials, finally constructs their ideal "perfect" soul state, without lingering unresolvable regrets, without trauma troubling the heart, reaching a state of "no entanglement in the heart, clear and transparent thoughts".

Only then can the Soul Law approach its completion, laying the most solid foundation for impacting the supreme Realm of Rules.

Lynch's gaze moved down, landing on the constantly scrolling message panel in the system interface.

Among the relatively stable skill level notifications from daily cultivation, several particularly eye-catching new messages appeared, like a few boulders thrown into a calm lake, stirring significant ripples:

[Soul Law Skill Level +1326]

[Soul Law Skill Level +3]

[Soul Law Skill Level +2868]

[Soul Law Skill Level +2]

These experience points far exceed the results of daily cultivation, and they were generated after he returned to his homeland on the Ancient Ruins.

Among them, just helping and housing the descendants of the Yuri Family, Alse, this single matter accumulated tens of thousands of skill levels intermittently. Subsequently, the unexpected reunion, conversation, and even brief consciousness confrontation with Lanice also brought significant gains.

Lynch understood in his heart that the commonality of these events is that they all touched upon those deep or shallow "regrets" and "unfinished matters" in his past life that were once shelved or hidden.

The downfall of Yuri and his family is a debt and powerlessness to his old friend; the complex and unspeakable relationship with Lanice is an emotional entanglement inadequately handled in youth. All these were "marks" or "hidden wounds" once left on his Soul Map.

Now, he returns to his old place, no longer merely immersed in memories and introspection, but faces the "roots" of these issues directly with strong power and a fearless attitude — he protected the Bloodline of his old friend, granting new hope; he met his former admirer frankly, directly confronting that complex affection.

When he no longer avoids but chooses to compensate, respond, and reinterpret these past events with actual actions, it is as if using the most fitting manner, he directly smooths out the corresponding "wrinkles" and "cracks" on the soul.

This liberation and sense of completion on the soul level brought by "facing directly" and "action" is far deeper and more effective than mere meditation and contemplation, hence the skill level of the Soul Law sees such significant elevations.

Looking at those striking notifications on the system panel, Lynch gently exhaled a breath, a hint of realization and confirmation flashed in his eyes.

"It seems returning was indeed the right decision."

He realized that if he only followed the traditional method, sealing himself in a quiet room, repeatedly reviewing, examining, and questioning himself in his mind, attempting to reconcile with the past through pure "thinking", this process is undoubtedly slow and inefficient, possibly even leading to dead-end traps.

What truly efficiently heals soul trauma is not superficial intellectual reflection, but facing the root of problems directly, compensating, changing, and transcending through actions. This return journey is the best evidence of his realization.

"Where should I go next?"

Lynch looked around at the broken ruins, pondering silently...
