The Gretin could tell that there was something very wrong with Evon. The way Evon was looking out into space and the strange way she spoke to herself only told them that she was trouble! The mother Gretin sent a silent message to her children to get ready to run the moment she gave them the signal! The mother Gretin moved to stand in front of the smaller ones, but this only made Evon finally turn to look at them properly. Evon looked at the Gretin like she was only seeing them for the first time, and she frowned slightly as she studied them! There was a curious look in her eyes, and she leaned forward as she spoke.

"What are you? Are you real? I don't think I've killed anything like this before. No, I have, a long time ago. Hehehe. But that was a long time ago. Can they make me complete? Are they the ones I'm looking for? Yes. No. Yes. They aren't. Well, maybe I shouldn't kill them then, I don't have time to do that. But it'll be fun. That's true, it'll be fun. But it'll be messy. That's true, it'll be messy. Should we just leave? We should leave. Let's go. No, wait, did you not see how that one looked at us just now! Was that fear? No, it wasn't fear, it was anger! Oh, she is angry at us! How do you know it's a she? I can tell from my heart! You don't have a heart! Hehehehe! That's true! But look at that woman! She looked at us like we were evil! She thinks we're demons! But we are! No, she's a good person. She gave us something to eat, and she even helped me with my training. But she wasn't there when I was being attacked by the Avaran! YOU ALL THINK I'M CRAZY! I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU! I'LL FORGIVE YOU! I'LL SAVE YOU! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL SAVE YOU! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!"

Slam!

Evon slammed her spear into the ground, and the world of Frinada shook as a wall of shadows exploded into reality!

DOON!

An insane pressure suddenly spread over the region as a massive wave of power poured out from Evon, and Evon's maniacal laugh became something loud and twisted as a black substance began to cover the sky and wrap everyone in the region in its shadowed embrace! The female Gretin shouted out to all her children!

"Dig! Follow me underground!"

The Gretin all began to dig as they tried to return underground to hide, but it was already too late! It didn't matter how fast you were; so long as you were within Evon's line of sight, you could not escape her Arcane Art! Evon's shadows burst out from her in a wave of pure power that tore through the fabric of reality to impose Evon's will over the world, and the Gretin all cried out as they were consumed by the shadows!

"I'LL BE COMPLETE! MAKE ME COMPLETE! COMPLETE! COMPLETE! COMPLETE!"

[Earth, Riverdale]

Ba-Dump!

Jason was currently driving through the streets of Riverdale on his bike, and his hands tightened around his bike handles as a strange feeling passed through his heart! The shadows all around Jason rippled like a moving river, and Jason narrowed his eyes when he saw this! Jason immediately spread his senses to see if he could follow the feeling back to where it had come from, and he was able to follow it for a few seconds before it was suddenly gone! One second, Jason had been tracking the power source, and in the next second, it was almost like nothing had even happened!

'What the hell was that?'

Jason asked this question to the system, and the system brought up a prompt in response.

[The system did not sense anything unusual in the user's vicinity. It is likely the user picked up an instinctual occurrence outside the system's sensory capabilities.]

Jason hummed when he read the message, and he couldn't help but wonder what sort of power would be outside the system's sensory abilities. Jason looked at the shadows again, and he couldn't help but think that this was somehow connected to the [Lord of Shadows] Arcane Art that he currently held. Jason remembered the system telling him that he could sense whenever someone else with another Attribute from the [Lord of Shadows] Arcane Art was using their power, so it was likely that this was what happened. Jason asked the system if it could track any Arcane Art user around them.

[The system is not capable of tracking the movement of Arcane Art users due to the fact that Arcane Arts do not require mana to be activated, and therefore they do not register on any of the system's sensory techniques. In order to properly locate an Arcane Art, the user must track it down himself.]

Jason clicked his tongue when he read this, and he tried to search for the feeling again, but he was unsuccessful for the second time, and he realized that whatever had happened was gone now. Did an Arcane Art user pass close to their world or something? Jason didn't know the answer to this, and he finally decided not to focus on it for now. Jason spread out his senses, and he decided that he would remain that way in case any Arcane Art user was coming to Earth. This way, Jason could ensure that no one would catch him off guard. Jason asked the system to tell him what the other Attributes of the Arcane Art [Lord of Shadows] were. Jason knew that he held only one-third of the full Arcane Art, so he decided that it would be smart to at least know what the other two were in case he ran into their wielders. The system sent back a prompt explaining things.

[Other than the [Wandering Shadows] Attribute, the [Lord of Shadows] Arcane Art is divided into the [Shadow Hands] Attribute and the [Land of Lost Shadows] Attribute. The system does not have a detailed breakdown of the capabilities of these two Attributes, but from the system's preserved data, the system believes that the [Land of Lost Shadows] is the strongest Attribute of the [Lord of Shadows] due to its ability to rewrite reality. The [Shadow Hands] is the second strongest as it gives the user a very wide range of attacks, while the [Wandering Shadows] is the weakest due to its lack of any attacking features.]

Jason hummed when he read through all this. Jason knew that the Wandering Shadows wouldn't be the strongest since it was only built for travel, but Jason didn't think that all the other Attributes would surpass it by such a wide margin. Jason could already guess what the other two Arcane Art Attributes would be like just from reading their names, and Jason knew that if he ever met any of the other wielders, it would be a difficult battle. Especially the [Land of Lost Shadows]. Jason didn't know exactly what the system meant by rewrite reality, but Jason could guess that it was not going to be something easy to handle.

'Should I leave Earth for now and fight them somewhere else? If the Arcane Art user is tracking me down, that might be the best option. It won't be an easy battle, especially if the wielders have other strong magic abilities that they can use with their Arcane Art like me. The Arcane Art doesn't need any mana to be activated, so they'll be able to preserve all their mana for their other abilities.'

Jason frowned when this thought passed through his mind, and he turned a corner on his bike and swerved around a car that was in front of him. Jason knew that having an Arcane Art was like a cheat code that allowed you to still fight even when you didn't have any mana at all, but that doesn't mean that the wielders would be people without strong abilities. But even though Jason was worried about what facing an Arcane user would be like, Jason also knew that he had an advantage. Jason had a lot of abilities and skills in his arsenal, and he also had his subordinates to support him! Jason didn't like being overconfident, but as of right now, Jason knew that he was one of the strongest people in this Primordial Domain.
