The Machina who were watching the fight from inside the air carrier couldn't even see Jason move at all! Jason suddenly vanished from one end of the air carrier and appeared behind the soldiers, and all the soldiers suddenly fell to the ground and died! The blood on Jason's Qi sword slowly evaporated, and Jason turned towards the dead soldiers and put his hand out before releasing a blast of mana. Inside the air carrier, General Braga grit his teeth in anger when he saw his men rising from the dead! General Braga swore he was going to kill him if it was the last thing he did!

"Sir, the criminal is approaching the entrance hatch! I think he is trying to get inside!"

General Braga frowned when the soldier announced this, and he stood tall and spoke in a confident tone.

"Let him come. I want all soldiers to prepare for battle. Deal with the resurrected Machina and return their souls to the River of the Afterlife. I will deal with the criminal myself."

General Braga watched as Jason tore a hole straight through the entrance hatch and dropped down into the ship in one move, and General Braga narrowed his eyes before he turned and began to walk out of the command center. General Braga's second in command began to yell out orders through the comms for the soldiers to get ready!

Deeper inside the ship, Jason landed right in the middle of a wide area filled with multiple ladders that led up into exit hatches, and Jason raised a brow as he saw that he was surrounded by more than thirty Machina who were all pointing their guns at him. Jason slowly stood to his full height and spoke calmly.

"Okay, how about we all calm down and talk about this—"

TWOON!

All the Machina immediately fired their plasma guns at Jason! The entire room was lit up from the intense, bright light of the ray guns as the Machina fired continuously, and it wasn't until they were already running low on magical power that they finally stopped firing and allowed the smoke in the room to slowly clear out. The Machina waited with bated breath to see what had happened with Jason! They knew that even though they didn't kill him, they would have at least seriously injured him! Not even an SSS-Rank could escape a barrage like that without a serious injury!

"Sigh~ I can't even reason with you fuckers."

A calm voice suddenly came from within the smoke, and the Machina all took steps back in shock! The smoke finally cleared out, and they saw Jason standing there without a single injury on him! There was a strange glowing red shield around Jason's body that had absorbed all of the attacks, and the Machina could only wonder where the hell Jason had gotten the shield from! The Machina couldn't see the large rune on Jason's back that he had activated the moment they attacked him. The rune was called [Vanira's Ward], and it was a Third-Rank Rune that worked by creating a cocoon of protection around whoever the rune had been drawn on! The only downside of the rune is that the protection created is only as strong as the mana that you supply to it, so those who have weak mana cannot use it properly! But for someone like Jason, who had extremely powerful mana, it was the perfect defence!

Jason cut the mana supply to the rune and it shimmered out of existence before he immediately activated another skill!

[Black Fog] has been activated!

The entire region suddenly erupted in a blast of black smoke that filled the room, and the Machina began to fire erratically as their vision was cut off! But none of them could land a single hit on Jason! The Machina that Jason had resurrected suddenly jumped down from the hole in the roof and into the black mist, and Jason put his hands in his coat pockets and calmly walked out of the mist as the sound of plasma guns and desperate screams began to echo from behind him!

Down on the ground, the Machina forces were being held back by Jason's Rooks, but the Rooks were slowly being pushed back by the sheer number of weapons the Machina had. The Rank II and III Rooks were doing well against the Machina, but the Rank I Rooks were only on the same level as A-Ranks, so they couldn't do much against the S-Rank Machina. The only reason why the Rank I Rooks were still in the fight was because of the 500% boost they had to their defences. Gina was flying through the air quickly, and there were multiple air carriers following behind her and firing at her! Gina had left the Skyking behind since she knew she could fly faster than it, and she was currently drawing the attention of most of the air carriers to give the dragons a chance to attack. Three dragons appeared from the left and slammed into three air carriers to force them away from Gina before the dragons unleashed a wave of fire at close range that melted the engines and sent the air carriers to the ground. Gina quickly dashed to the side, quicker than the air carriers could follow, and formed multiple massive wind arrows before shooting them towards two air carriers! The arrows slammed into the plasma rifles on the carriers and destroyed them, and created an opening that allowed more dragons to attack from behind! Gina grinned, and she quickly flew to the side as another massive carrier opened fire on her from behind, and she laughed as she flew upwards and forced the carriers to follow after her! Gina spun in a sudden spiral while releasing a constant flow of mana from her body, and the wind around her immediately followed her commands as it began to spin in a tight circle. And it wasn't long before a massive tornado quickly formed in the sky and swallowed everything in its path!

At the centre of the battlefield, the Varigans were watching the intense battle taking place around them with shock plastered on their faces! The Varigans were no strangers to battle, and they were used to having to fight against opponents that were far stronger than them. But what they were seeing now was nothing like what they had been experiencing with the Pharynx! The sheer firepower and destruction that was flying back and forth between Jason's Legion and the Machina put everything they had ever seen to shame! Every one of them knew that they would have died a long time ago if they didn't have this shield around them. A group of Pawns from Jason's Legion appeared from the shadows and grabbed some more Varigans to take them away! The Pawns had completed more than fifty trips already, and they took close to three hundred Varigans across the battlefield each time, so there were only about a thousand Varigans left for them to transport!

Crack! Crack!

More stray blasts from the Machina army slammed into the Aegis shield, and the Varigans felt sweat pooling on their necks as they heard the shield cracking! Inside one of the large Zen Mechas, Haruto glanced to the side slightly to watch Rei, and he couldn't help but notice the way her hands were shaking. Even though they were already prepared for battle in case the shield broke, it was obvious that none of them wanted to die here. The Varigans had only just been granted their freedom from the Pharynx, and for a brief moment after the monster died, they all had wild dreams of finally seeing the world and getting to grow old! But now, all those dreams looked like they were about to be shattered by this one battle.
