Boom! Boom! Boom!
The first wave of fireballs had already cleared her vision, and now twenty more were flying toward her…
She couldn't help but feel impressed since she had definitely miscalculated Rayven's Mana Capacity…
She actually thought that Rayven was already reaching his limit… She didn't expect that the Adept Mage, despite his age, would have such a huge reserve.
"Impressive, young man…" She muttered.
She noticed that Rayven wasn't aiming for precision, he was aiming to pressure her and create chaos.
'He probably wanted to find some opening or something…' Ardania squinted her eyes as she decided what to do…
She raised both hands and activated her next Spell.
"Mana Dome."
Just like that, a large sphere of mana expanded outward, enveloping her completely. The fireballs struck in rapid succession, detonating against the dome with a powerful impact…
At first, it wasn't too much… But as the fifteenth Fireball hit, her dome was already about to be destroyed…
As the 20 Fireballs hit her dome, it was already cracked and was about to be destroyed…
It must be remembered that as an Archmage, her Mana Purity was already on a completely different level. Her Mana Purity was at most 90 to 91% already. Once the purity reached 90%, it was already considered at the peak of humanity, closest to the apex…
For Adept Mages like Rayven, his Mana Purity shouldn't even reach 80% and the difference in the purity would be so huge.
But for some reason, Rayven's Spells were still capable of damaging her 90% plus purity, which should be impossible in normal cases.
'This kid is terrifying… If he ever attended the academy, it would surely destroy all the arrogant mage students.' Ardania thought as she was already thinking of how to recruit this young man to attend the next academic year… Or perhaps, visit the Academy using a special recruitment process to get him paired or challenge the current students.
To be honest, she knew that the current mages right now were completely bound by tradition… They were all just following the set of Spells taught by their families… No one was exploring other paths or being creative…
Every year, they just kept producing the same Fire Mages, Water Mages, Stone Mages, Scout Mages, Appraisers, and some other safe path for Mages.
However, from Rayven's arrangement of Spells, she could already tell that he wasn't following a basic Mage Path. She couldn't help but want to pit him with mages of similar age…
'Well… That can be done later.' She mused as she looked at the Fireballs coming at her.
Apparently, the young man wasn't stopping at all.
"Fireball."

"Fireball."

Three more launched, aimed at the upper arc of the dome.
Ardania responded.
"Mana Disperse."
It was another Tier 1 Spell that was literally just a blanket of mana that would try to dismantle other spells.
The dome collapsed outward, scattering the incoming fireballs midair. The energy from the Fireball exploded harmlessly, but the force pushed Rayven back a step.
"Mist Shroud."

"Gust Step."

He vanished into vapor and repositioned again, circling to her left.
Ardania didn't cast Pulse Reveal this time as she waited for him…
Still, Rayven emerged with another spell already forming.
"Mana Flick."
[ 1 Gold Coin deducted. ]
It was a weak spell, but it was still quite faster than Fireball…
The burst struck her shoulder again… It was still harmless, but enough to test her stance.
"Arcane Bind."
Threads of mana lashed out again and it was faster this time. This Tier 1 Spell was not a powerful one, but it could really trap Rayven…
Rayven reacted.
"Scout's Recall."
[3 Gold Coins deducted.]
He then disappeared, reappearing a few meters away… Apparently, he had already placed an anchor point where he could return anytime…
Of course, even if Ardania was an Archmage, she didn't know about this Spell.
As soon as Rayven disappeared from her clutches, she was momentarily stunned, confused with the sudden escape… It happened in an instant, so she knew it wasn't just a fast movement Spell, but perhaps, it was a trick…
'Did I try to capture an illusion? Is he staying there the whole time?' She could only guess this much since this was her first time encountering the Scout's Recall Spell.
Still, the battle wasn't over yet…
Ardania raised her hand.
"Gravity Pulse."
Finally, she used a Tier 5 spell.
It seemed really unfair but she decided that it was enough since she wanted to ask Rayven about that illusion or trick he did just now…
Soon, the air around Rayven thickened instantly. His limbs felt heavier and his movement slowed. Now, he would certainly not be able to escape…
Rayven gritted his teeth.
"Stone Skin."
[3 Gold Coins deducted.]
The Spell was activated once again but it was not doing much to protect his body…
"Gust Step."
[1 Gold Coin deducted.]
He forced his way through the pressure, barely clearing the area where the Gravity Pulse was strongest.
Ardania didn't follow.
She simply raised her hand again and used another Spell.
"Arcane Lance."
A concentrated bolt of mana surged forward and Rayven tried to dodge.
However, even if he was now out of the Gravity Pulse's core, his body was too slow.
The lance struck him square in the chest.
His Stone Skin cracked and the impact threw him backward, slamming him into the chamber wall.
Thud!
Rayven groaned, rolling to his side.
He had spent more than 70 gold coins, but he wasn't really an opponent…
Still, it was a good experience…
Ardania lowered her hand.
"That's enough."
Rayven didn't argue and nodded…
"Thank you for the lesson, Miss Ardania…" He weakly said as he sat up slowly while catching his breath.
Ardania then walked toward him with a satisfied look on her face...
"You lasted longer than I expected... You did really well."
Rayven appreciated her kind words and smiled... "I used everything I had."
