The old man started to have a warm and swelling feeling in his head. His also had a swelling feeling in his eyes.

“How do you feel?” asked Wang Yao.

“I have a warm and swelling feeling in my head,” said the old man.

Warm and swelling feeling?

Wang Yao stopped massaging.

He checked the old man’s pulse. His held his fingers on the old man’s pulse for some time.

Then he waited next to the old man’s bed for about an hour. Afterwards, he checked the old man’s pulse again. After making sure the old man was fine, he started to massage the old man’s head again to stimulate the acupuncture points and meridians in his head cautiously.

The old man still had a warm feeling in his head. Now the feeling became stronger, like waves, one after another. However, this time, he also had a prickling feeling in his head.

Shush!

The old man took a deep breath.

“Are you alright?” asked Wang Yao.

“My head is aching,” said the old man.

“Really?” Wang Yao stopped massaging immediately.

“Where about?” asked Wang Yao.

“It’s a bit hard to say,” said the old man.

“I’ll press your head gently, tell me if you feel pain,” said Wang Yao.

“Okay,” said the old man.

Wang Yao gently pressed his finger on a spot of the old man’s head.

“Is it here?” asked Wang Yao.

“Yes, you are right,” said the old man immediately.

This was where the thrombosis was.

Pain was not always a bad thing.

Wang Yao reckoned the pain was a good sign, but he chose to stop treating the old man. Instead, he sat next to the old man’s bed to check his pulse every half an hour. He kept doing that until noon.

The old man’s wife had been standing next to the bed as she watched Wang Yao treat her husband. She stood up to prepare for lunch, and was about to kill a rabbit for them to eat.

“Tell your auntie we won’t have lunch here. I have to take someone to the airport,” said Wang Yao to Pan Jun.

“Okay,” said Pan Jun.

He went out of the room to speak to his uncle’s wife.

The old woman came back a moment later.

“Dr. Wang, you’re not going to have lunch here?” asked the old woman.

“No, Ma’am, thank you. I have to take a friend to the airport later. I appreciate your invitation,” said Wang Yao, smiling.

“Sorry to keep you busy for the whole morning,” said the old woman.

“Don’t worry about that,” said Wang Yao.

After he made sure that the old man was fine, he left the old man’s house. He left behind part of the decoction he brewed for the old man, and told the old woman about the precautions of taking the decoction.

“Ask him to take the decoction on time. Warm the decoction before he takes it,” said Wang Yao.

“Okay,” said the old woman.

“You need to take care of yourself too. Don’t work too hard.” Wang Yao could tell that the old woman was not fit. She had a kyphotic posture, so she slumping over a bit.

“Okay,” said the old woman.

“We are leaving now. You should go back into the house, it’s quite cold outside,” said Wang Yao.

He and Pan Jun left the village in his car. The old woman didn’t go back into her house until she the car was out of sight.

“What a nice young man,” said the old woman.

“What is the fee for the treatment?” asked Pan Jun in the car.

“Don’t worry it about until I cure your uncle.” Wang Yao shook his hand.

For many, he would charge a lot for treatment. For some, he wouldn’t provide treatment no matter how much they were willing to pay. For the others, he would treat them for free.

Wang Yao had his own standards. But sometimes, he just did what he wanted on a whim.

For instance, the two elderly people he just met reminded him of his own grandparents. He felt close to them.

Everyone wanted more money. The more, the better. However, Wang Yao was quite happy with his earnings.

“Shall we have lunch together?” asked Pan Jun.

“No, thank you. I really do have to take a friend to the airport,” said Wang Yao.

“Okay, you can drop me anywhere convenient,” said Pan Jun.

After dropping Pan Jun at an intersection, Wang Yao went to the hostel to pick Chen Ying.

Chen Ying didn’t bring lots of luggage with her. She just had one large backpack.

“Sorry for being late, I had to see a patient this morning,” said Chen Ying.

“That’s fine,” said Chen Ying, smiling.

Wang Yao’s car was traveling fast on the broad highway.

“What do you think of my hometown?” asked Wang Yao.

“It’s nice, especially Nanshan Hill,” said Chen Yiing. “It was like a cave paradise.”

“Haha!” laughed Wang Yao.

A “cave paradise” in Taoism referred to places where the gods and goddesses lived. Most of the cave paradises were in those famous mountains. However, there was no gods or goddess in the world nowadays.

Nanshan Hill was not special in terms of the view. However, it was filled with good aura, which was very rare. Therefore, Nanshan Hill was not a half penny worse than those famous mountains. It deserved to be called a “cave paradise”.

It was less than a two hour drive from Lianshan town center to Haiqu airport. There were not many cars on the road at noon. Wang Yao was driving fast. It only took him an hour and a half to get to the airport.

“Thank you for your hospitality over the past few days,” said Chen Ying.

“Haha, that’s nothing.” Wang Yao waved his hand. He had only showed Chen Ying the hills.

“You don’t have to stay here with me,” said Chen Ying.

“Never mind,” said Wang Yao.

He had a chat with Chen Ying in the waiting area, and didn’t leave until the ground staff announced time for boarding.

“Thank you,” said Chen Ying again.

“You are welcome,” said Wang Yao.

Wang Yao felt a bit embarrassed as Chen Ying kept thanking him. Actually, he couldn’t completely understand what was on Chen Ying’s mind now. For Chen Ying, Wang Yao was an amazing person, a really capable and talented person, more capable than anyone she had ever met. Therefore, she highly respected him, and for some reason, she was even a bit intimidated by him.

She had witnessed how Wang Yao controlled the rain and wind on the Great Wall. It was raining heavily on that day, but Wang Yao’s clothes were completely dry even though he was standing in the rain.

It was Wang Yao’s ability, his true ability.

He was close to a sort of god.

“I wish you a safe trip,” said Wang Yao.

He didn’t leave until Chen Ying had disappeared at the end of the corridor.

He took a detour on his way back. He went to the beach on a whim.

In winter, it was very windy on the beach. There was only a handful of people on the beach.

Wang Yao stood on the beach listening to the sound of wind from the ocean.

The sands underneath his feet were soft.

It was very windy and the waves were high.

Wang Yao stood quietly on the beach. He slowly released his Qi to communicate with his surroundings.

Walla-walla! A wave surged forward.

Wang Yao slowly pushed his palm forward. His Qi split the wave into two.

He pushed his palms forward in turns. One hold after another appeared in the waves.

He looked around and found there was no one nearby. Then he took a big breath.

His Qi was like a running river.

He did an air-splitting fist.

He used all this strength.

Pop!

A loud sound appeared in the air, like a gunshot.

Bang! The wave was split into two.

Following the direction of Wang Yao’s fist, there appeared a crack on the surface of the sea. The crack was about 10 meters long. It only lasted for a few seconds. It was soon filled with water.

At the moment Wang Yao punched out, the wind around him stopped, as if all of the air surrounding Wang Yao was evacuated.

“Good,” said Wang Yao in low voice.

He had never used all of his strength, even when he was on Nanshan Hill.

He looked at the waves in the sea, and followed the rhythm of the waves to do his breathing exercises. He inhaled and exhaled with the waves as they rolled in and pulled out.

It seemed to be a good idea to go to the beach often.

The ocean was different from hills.

The hills were high while the ocean was endless. They were so different.

Wang Yao was practicing medicine and Kung Fu at the same time.

He didn’t leave the beach until it was nearly 5 pm. It was getting dark.

“What are you doing?!”

Suddenly he heard someone shouting in the woods near the beach. It was a woman’s voice.

“Not here, let’s go!” said the woman.

“I want to do it here. I’m excited to do it here,” said a man.

What the hell?!

Wang Yao knew immediately what the two were about to do.

He didn’t get why people wanted to have sex in the woods next to the beach, where it was so cold and windy. People’s tastes are so weird now. Is it that expensive to go to a hotel?

Aye!

Wang Yao made a low sound, which sounded like thunder.

“What the hell?!”

The couple in the woods were startled. They thought they bumped into a ghost. So they rushed out of the woods, but didn’t see anyone.

“What’s going on!?” said the woman.

“It’s not good to have sex outside on such a cold day. It’s not good for your Yang energy. The cold toxin would invade your body. I’m doing this for your own good,” said Wang Yao to himself while walking.

He drove back home after he left the beach.

His mother had set up the table and cooked nice and warm dished.

“It’s so nice to be at home!” said Wang Yao.

“Where have you been today?” asked Zhang Xiuying.

“I drove Chen Ying to the airport today. She left for Beijing,” said Wang Yao.

“Back to Beijing?” asked Zhang Xiuying.

“Yes,” said Wang Yao.

“What about her brother?” asked Zhang Xiuying.

“I will go to Beijing soon,” said Wang Yao after he took a sip of the soup.

Wang Yao chatted with his parents after dinner. Then he went back to Nanshan Hill. He planned to go to the town center again the next day, not to see Li Maoshuang’s uncle, but to see Zhou Xiong’s uncle.

Zhou Xiong’s uncle had stayed in Lianshan for some time. He stayed in the same unit Zhou Xiong used to rent. Wang Yao had gone to see him several days ago. He was stable at the moment.
