The rising sun marked the beginning of a new day as the darkness faded away. We slept on the remaining mattresses salvaged from several houses here, while Abi volunteered to stay up and keep watch through the night.
Daisy once again slept peacefully in my arms. This time, she woke up several times from nightmares, but whenever I held her tightly, her sobs and fears gradually subsided, and she was able to sleep soundly once more. Watching her sleep so peacefully made my chest feel lighter, as if a significant burden had been lifted from her heart.
After breakfast, we finally decided it was time to part ways.
"Time really flies…" I whispered.
"Yeah… I feel sad having to part with Daisy," Key replied with a pout.
"Hey, we still have to report all of this first," Axxel interjected.
"Oh, right. You're correct," Key answered with a bittersweet smile.
"Don't worry, we'll definitely revisit you in Nuzantra's capital, right?" Axxel added.
"Yes, you don't have to hesitate. Besides, I've reopened my shop," I replied with a small laugh.
"Oh! That means I can buy a legendary weapon, right?!" Axxel exclaimed excitedly.
"Sorry, that's not possible."
"Eh? Why not?" Axxel sulked.
"My children forbid it."
"Eh…? What about mythical ones?" Axxel asked again.
"That's also not allowed. I'm only permitted to sell uncommon-tier weapons."
"What about rare ones? Not those either?"
"That… is also not allowed."
"Why are your children so strict?" Axxel grumbled.
"Because those weapons are too overpowered, and they say they're not suitable for the current era."
"…"
Suddenly, Axxel's expression changed, as if he had just realised something.
"Wait… you have children?!" he shouted in disbelief.
"You know… the adoption system, right?"
"Ah! That one… I thought you actually had children, haha," Axxel said with an awkward laugh.
"How could I possibly have children that big when I've only been here for half a year?"
"…"
"Well then, see you again," Axxel said.
"Daisy, take good care of yourself, okay? Listen to what she says," Key told her gently.
Standing beside me, Daisy nodded and smiled. I then chanted a teleportation spell. A golden magic circle appeared beneath Axxel and Key's feet, and a light enveloped them before their figures vanished in an instant.
After the two of them were gone, I briefly considered using teleportation myself to arrive faster, but I was worried it might startle Daisy or cause problems. So instead, I sent Abiyasa ahead to Bhorneo's capital to inform Rama, while Daisy and I would travel on Langit and make our way there by land.
Five days passed swiftly on our journey to Bhorneo. During those days, I felt my bond with Daisy grow deeper. We ate together, slept together, and even bathed together in the river. We played in the water several times, and smiles began to appear more frequently on Daisy's lips, as if she had started to move on from the painful events that had happened to her.
On the third day, Abi managed to find us, saying he could never leave his mistress alone. And so, for the remainder of the journey, our group grew a little larger.
When we finally arrived in Bhorneo, I went straight to Lemurian, where Rama was. The anxiety that had been so clearly visible on Rama and Raisya's faces vanished the moment they saw us arrive.
"Grandma!" Rama and Raisya shouted together.
"I've heard about the situation from Abiyasa. But are you all right, Grandma?" Rama asked with concern.
"Yes, I'm fine. I'm sorry for worrying you."
"Thank goodness you're safe," Raisya said with a sigh of relief.
Their attention then shifted to the small girl standing beside me.
"You must have heard already, but let me introduce her. This is Daisy. Starting today, she will be part of the Oberyth family. And Daisy, this is Rama and Raisya."
"Oh, so this is my new aunt!" Rama exclaimed excitedly.
Hearing that, Daisy looked confused.
Smack!
Raisya smacked Rama on the back of the head.
"Idiot, don't confuse her," Raisya scolded. "Don't mind what he said, he's just an idiot. Anyway, I'm Raisya. Nice to meet you."
"Dai…sy," Daisy replied shyly.
"And this is Abiyasa."
"Greetings, Young Master, Young Lady," Abiyasa said, bowing politely.
"Nice to meet you too," Rama and Raisya replied.
After that, Rama invited us inside. There, he and Raisya wanted to hear my report directly. I recounted the entire chain of events. When I finished, both of them fell silent, deep in thought.
"…"
"Grandma, may I report everything directly to the royal court?" Raisya asked seriously.
"Yes, you may."
"In that case, I'll go now. I'll report this incident right away. See you later," Raisya said before leaving the room.
After Raisya left, I continued my conversation with Rama, telling him everything that had happened in Sivanto Village.
"…"
Rama fell into deep thought, his face slightly pale as he stared at the table.
"I see… This is truly shocking and heartbreaking news. Unfortunately, we've lost our partners… and even more heartbreaking that we've lost all the people of Sivanto Village. But I'm grateful to you, Grandma, and to your two companions for saving the sole survivor," Rama said, then glanced at Daisy, who had clung to me ever since we arrived in the city.
We continued discussing a few other matters, including Rama offering us lodging, as the long journey had been exhausting — especially for Daisy's small body.
Once our discussion concluded, Daisy, Abi, and I were escorted by one of Rama's staff to the lodging he had arranged. Before heading there, we stopped by a clothing boutique on Rama's recommendation.
From its exterior alone, it was clear that the boutique was luxurious. Inside, the décor was filled with elegant items, and the clothes on display were stunning and expensive-looking. We bought several sets of clothes for Daisy. After finishing our shopping, we left the boutique and walked for about thirty minutes before arriving at the inn.
The lodging resembled a hotel, but it was built entirely of wood. It had a traditional atmosphere, the scent of aged teak wood filling the air, and the soft creaking of the floors accompanied our footsteps as we walked down the corridor. All the staff wore kebaya for the women and pangsi for the men.
Once we reached our room, Abi gently laid Daisy down — she had fallen asleep during the journey — and I quickly lay down to rest my body and mind.
[The Next Morning]
As sunlight streamed into the room and the chirping of birds filled the air, we awoke from our sleep. After bathing and having breakfast, we headed back to Lemurian.
When we arrived, Rama was already standing outside, speaking with several people.
"Good morning, Rama," I greeted.
"Gra—ehm, good morning to you too," Rama replied with a wry smile. "Have you had breakfast?"
"Yes."
"Good. Then let's not delay. Please follow me," he said, leading the way.
Daisy, Abi, and I followed behind him to a courtyard near the stables. There, several beastmen were gathered, their faces filled with worry.
"?"
"What's going on?" Rama asked.
Panic swept across their faces as Rama approached.
"M-Master Rama, we're terribly sorry… we couldn't carry out your orders," said one of the canine beastmen, trembling.
"What do you mean?"
"W-well… you ordered us to bring out the white horse and attach it to the prepared carriage, but the horse is extremely stubborn and refuses to leave the stable," the beastman explained.
White horse?
I turned toward the stable they indicated and saw a white horse lying down inside.
"Langit?" I murmured.
As if hearing my voice, Langit suddenly stood up straight and began prancing excitedly, as though he had found a treasure.
"I'll handle this," I said as I walked toward Langit.
The beastmen watched in astonishment. As I approached, Langit lowered his head, wanting to be petted. Naturally, I stroked his head and neck before gently leading him out of the stable.
"Sorry for the trouble he's caused," I said, bowing slightly.
Once again, panic appeared on their faces.
"A-ah, n-not at all! It's we who should apologise for failing to handle your horse, Miss," the canine beastman stammered.
"Enough. You may return to your duties. I appreciate your help," Rama interjected.
The beastmen nodded and left.
"Grandma, this is the carriage I promised you yesterday. I know it's not as good as the one you own, but it's the best we have," Rama said.
A white carriage adorned with golden engravings stood parked not far from me.
"Are you sure? This must be expensive," I asked.
"There's no need for you to worry about that," Rama replied with a smile.
"…"
"All right then. We'll be on our way. Give my regards to Raisya and Rasha."
"Goodbye, Daisy," Rama said, waving his hand.
"Goo… dbye," Daisy replied shyly.
Abi hitched Langit to the carriage while Rama kept a respectful distance. No wonder the beastmen — and even Rama — didn't dare approach; their levels were far too low compared to Langit. Rama, the strongest among them, was only around level 100, while Langit was level 300. That kind of difference was naturally intimidating.
Abiyasa, on the other hand, was also level 300, and Langit seemed to recognise him as part of the family, which was why he obeyed when Abi harnessed him to the carriage.
Once everything was ready, we set off for our home by Dewata Lake, in the capital city of Nuzantra.
