Chapter 89: Upgraded


Aaron took a deep breath to calm his mind.

First, he withdrew the Alchemist Scroll and activated it.

The scroll vanished from his hand, and in his stats panel, a new occupation appeared: Alchemist.

However, leveling it required 1,000 experience points per level. For now, he decided to hold off.

Next, he turned his attention to the two purple-glowing items.

Ring of Archmage

- Mana Regen: +0.5/sec

- Storage Space: 10 cubic meters

- Runes Inscribed:

- Invisibility (Tier 3): Activates with 1 mana point. Only Tier 5+ wizards can detect it.

- Shield (Tier 3): Absorbs up to 300 spell power damage. Takes 3 days to recharge after breaking.

Aaron's eyes lit up. This ring solved his mana recovery problem, a major breakthrough. The invisibility rune was a bonus, especially since Tier 5 wizards were rare in the Verdia Kingdom.

The shield intrigued him. He needed to learn more about spell power scaling, but the protection was reassuring.

He examined the ring closely. It was made from unknown materials, engraved with mysterious runes, and embedded with three stones, white, black, and red. Unsure of their purpose, he slipped the ring onto his finger.

Instantly, he felt a wave of comfort and security. His mana recovery accelerated, and the shield activated, giving him peace of mind against sneak attacks.

Wand of Necromancer

- Dark Spell Amplification: ×2

- INT Boost: +30

- Engraved Rune: Death Ray (Tier 3)

- Restriction: Requires 100 INT and CON to wield.

- Failure to meet this causes vitality erosion from dark particles.

Death Ray (Tier 3):

Consumes 150 mana. Erodes 50 years of life energy from the target. Usable 3 times per day.

Aaron took a deep breath. This wand was powerful, but its requirements were too steep for now. He stored it back in the inventory, reminding himself to always check item stats before equipping anything.

Great Wizard Robes

- Functions: Self-cleaning, temperature adjustment, auto-repair

- Limit: Damaged if hit by spells exceeding 100 spell power

Aaron changed into the robe. It was white, soft, and temperature-regulated keeping his body cool and comfortable. He stored the remaining robes in his storage ring.

Box of Enchanted Arrows

- Quantity: 1,000

- Material: Magic metal

- Effects: Penetration + Light damage

- Specialty: Highly effective against undead

Aaron smiled. These arrows were a timely blessing. If high-tier undead attacked again, he'd be ready.

Finally, he examined the spells. All were learnable, except Death Ray.

He hesitated, then stored them for later.

With 840,000 experience points remaining, Aaron began planning his upgrades.

First, he considered the Plant Breathing Method. Each level increased attribute points, making it a valuable investment.

Currently at Level 5, raising it to Level 10 would cost 45,000 XP.

But before that, he checked the Loot Skill.

LOOT (Passive) – Level 5 (Max)

- Effect: 60% chance to drop items, equipment, scrolls, or potions from enemies Level 1+.

Aaron was stunned. As he didn't expect that level 5 was the maximum level it could be upgraded to. Even though it was maxed, a 60% drop rate was still incredible.

He then upgraded Plant Breathing Method to Level 6,

spending 6,000 XP. But it didn't advance further likely blocked by his current realm.

Still, he gained +10 attribute points, in all stats except Intelligence.

Total XP spent: 15,000

Remaining: 825,000

Aaron looked at the remaining experience points.

Upgrading his Knight Realm to Level 31 would cost 550,000 XP, a steep price, but well within reach.

He thought carefully. Such an upgrade would elevate his power significantly, and with the looming threat of the Gray Wolf Pack, not to mention future expeditions into the Savannah Mountain Range, he needed strength more than anything.

He also had enough XP to raise his Mage Level from 11 to 31, but he knew it wouldn't help much. His wizardry knowledge was still lacking, so for now, the Knight Realm took priority.

Without hesitation, he upgraded from Great Knight Realm to Earth Knight Realm.

Warm energy surged through his body, nourishing every fiber. His stomach region, where Knight Energy was stored, began to shift, the seed of energy slowly grew into saplings.

His physical strength soared to a new level.

With 275,000 XP remaining, he upgraded his Mage Level from 11 to 21, spending 55,000 XP.

As the upgrade completed, his eyes closed involuntarily, and he entered his Sea of Consciousness.

Unlike before, it had expanded from 1 cubic meter to 10.

The runes, once surrounded by faint blue particles, had now condensed into liquid-like drops.

He didn't know what it meant, but it felt mysterious and powerful. His spell power had clearly increased.

He didn't dwell on it. With abundant mana and XP, he began learning spells, spending 10,000 XP in the process.

Now, 210,000 XP remained.

Next, he turned to his Alchemy Profession.

- Level 1 → Level 2: 1,000 XP

- Level 2 → Level 3: 10,000 XP

- Level 3 → Level 4: 100,000 XP

He upgraded all three tiers, leaving him with 99,000 XP.

At that moment, Aaron felt a strange shift in his consciousness.

His mind was suddenly flooded with memories, not his own, but those of a mysterious figure practicing alchemy over and over again, refining herbs, adjusting flames, measuring powders with uncanny precision.

Each motion, each technique, felt familiar, as if he had lived them himself.

He could see the color of herbs changing, smell the bitterness of failed brews, feel the heat of bubbling cauldrons.

It was overwhelming, and yet, it all made sense.

When the sensation faded, he opened his eyes, and a quiet confidence settled in his chest.

He knew, without a doubt, he could now craft potions of Tier 1, Tier 2, and even Tier 3 with ease. If course he would require a potion recipe.

from the plant Breathing Techniques, 45 points for 9 level from 21 to 30 and for 31 level additional 10 attributes points. Same for const and dex.)
