Romance Game: Embrace of the Inhuman

Chapter 314: The Inevitable Battle

As they continued on their journey, the environment changed.

Lin Qianxuan and his companions finally stepped into a hot, crimson region.

They even saw the sudden appearance of a giant castle in the distance.

"There's nothing around here, who built this castle?" Xiao Ke wondered aloud.

"Maybe it grew naturally," Ashley joked, looking at Lin Qianxuan carrying Xiao Ke on his back.

Reaching this point smoothly had lightened her mood considerably.

"I think it's more like a model thrown over here by a designer." Lin Qianxuan made a small joke to ease the tension, saying, "Let's go, it's time to face the final monster."

"It's time to end all of this," Edwin said seriously, "The evil dragon's crimes will be ended by me!"

"Then you can go alone," Ryan replied.

"Alright, we!" Edwin corrected himself.

Ignoring the two bantering NPCs, Lin Qianxuan walked straight towards the castle.

The path was incredibly wide, with a river of molten lava below, and the massive building ahead seemed like a giant beast ready to devour everything.

In comparison, they seemed very tiny.

But Lin Qianxuan wasn't too afraid.

He wasn't the traditional hero from fairy tales, armed only with courage, facing a villain with an enormous power gap.

In fact, he seemed more like the final boss.

After all, with all his cheats, if he got serious, the whole world would collapse.

"I feel something's off, it's too quiet," Xiao Ke suddenly said after walking for a while.

"The evil dragon isn't in the castle?"

Edwin hypothesized.

"No, I can feel its terrifying aura," Ryan shook his head.

"I can also see its vast life force,"

Ashley said, magic illuminating her eyes as she observed the immense aura covering the entire area.

"If it hasn't sensed us, perhaps we can secretly rescue the princess from the castle, then leave," Edwin suggested.

"That's a good idea, provided you didn't say that in front of it....."

Lin Qianxuan held Xiao Ke in both hands, looking at the huge pink dragon head emerging from beneath the path.

Its head was as big as a house, and even all of them combined weren't as large as its eyes.

At this moment, its eyes were filled with uncontrollable ferocity and struggle.

"Peiya?" Lin Qianxuan raised an eyebrow.

"Teacher.... I can't control it....." Peiya spoke.

"Teacher?" Edwin was full of disbelief.

The dragon's teacher is Qianxuan?

"Looks like we have to fight."

Lin Qianxuan also sensed the world's corrective force coming into play.

The evil dragon is destined to face the hero.

And destined to be defeated by the hero.

Well, to be precise, to die at the hero's hands.

Even the hero is destined to die at the dragon's hands once.

This is the plot of the story.

And the price of the strange artifact!

He never thought the princess wasn't Peiya, but the evil dragon!

"You guys rescue the princess, leave the rest to me," Lin Qianxuan said to Ashley and the others behind him.

"Can you really do it?"

It was Edwin speaking, but Ashley had already run off upon hearing Lin Qianxuan's words.

"When haven't I been able to?" Lin Qianxuan said to Ryan, "Take him and go, don't disturb my fight!"

Ryan nodded to Lin Qianxuan and then immediately pulled Edwin away.

Edwin still had a lot of drama, gritting his teeth, "We're partners, how could we let him face the enemy alone..."

He said that, but his feet didn't show any sign of stopping.

Once everyone had left, Lin Qianxuan held the Hero's Sword, facing the giant dragon's head, and said, "Pop quiz. If you fail, I'll give you extra training when we get back."

"Roar~! Bellow~!"

The scorching and violent dragon breath spewed out, covering the entire path, instantly melting and vaporizing the road surface made of some special material.

Lin Qianxuan was enveloped in a faint blue glow as the power of the Frost Stone completely neutralized the dragon breath's attack.

He didn't even need to dodge.

Whoosh~!

The sword flashed, striking the tough scale armor, forcing Peiya to jerk her chin up and interrupt her breath attack.

"Your charging is too obvious, and after realizing the attack is ineffective, you should change strategies immediately," Lin Qianxuan commented while swinging his sword.

Boom~!

The immense power shattered the air, as the giant dragon's massive front claws, capable of flattening houses, swept towards Lin Qianxuan like swatting a bug.

Before the claws could even reach, the wind pressure was already there, and Lin Qianxuan's eyes gleamed slightly as he leveraged himself, dodging in advance.

Boom~!

A nearby tower was instantly crushed, and countless debris and building remnants crumbled into the molten lava below.

Just its physical power had already reached the Dao Realm level.

The dragon breath's lethality was even greater, instantly vaporizing the path, with unimaginable temperatures.

Bang~!

The path was struck, shattering the sturdy supporting bridge pillars below, while Lin Qianxuan unleashed a sword strike from a distance, a remote Qi Blade hitting Peiya's scale armor without leaving a trace.

He had learned this skill from a swordsman along the way.

It worked well against other small monsters, but ended up being almost useless against Peiya.

As Lin Qianxuan battled Peiya,

On the other side, Ashley had already led Edwin and Ryan to the princess's location.

She easily dispelled the magic array that restrained the princess and then stepped into the room where the princess was held.

Princess Victoria of Terrance Kingdom looked anxiously at the newcomers.

"Your Highness, we've come to rescue you. Our friend is fighting the evil dragon, please come with us quickly....." Ashley said.

"Alright! I understand!"

Victoria didn't hesitate and immediately trusted Ashley and the others, then followed them to escape.

"Princess, where is the dragon's treasure chamber?" Ashley suddenly asked.

Ryan, who was beside her, also looked over with curiosity.

He had come here for the dragon's treasure as well.

Victoria pointed to a distant place and said, "It's over there, but can your friends really defeat the dragon? We should escape, if you want treasure, I can give you a lifetime of unimaginable wealth when we return to the kingdom…"

"There's something in the dragon's treasure that's very important to me, not something ordinary treasure can measure," Ashley said.

With that, she turned and headed towards the dragon's treasure chamber.

Ryan and Edwin hurriedly followed along with the Princess.

Soon they arrived at the dragon's true lair.

Literally like a mountain, jewels and gold glittered, surrounded by various magic crystal stones, treasure swords, and exquisite armor.

"It's really rich!" Edwin exclaimed in shock.

"Let's just grab something and leave, I doubt Qianxuan can hold on for long," Ryan said.

Though he longed for the wealth, he still had his sense of reason.

Ashley's gaze swept past the coins and jewels, casting a spell to probe the magical fluctuations within.

Among a heap of magic items, she didn't see the so-called cross.

"Impossible, it should be here!" Ashley frowned.

"Hey? A holy artifact!"

Suddenly, Edwin, who was stuffing coins into his pocket, paused and retrieved a cross pendant from a piece of nearby armor.

"Can I have it?" Ashley asked.

Seeing the determination on her face, Edwin said, "Please do not excessively disrupt the order of the world with it. The power of the angel can resurrect the dead, but it also disrupts order. Overusing it might get you punished by the Celestial God."

Then, Edwin handed the pendant to Ashley.

Ashley had been prepared to fight Edwin for it, but now, having obtained it so easily, she was a bit surprised and developed a slight affection for Edwin, this NPC.

"I'll try to endure listening to your boring joke next time." Ashley said with a smile, gripping the cross tightly.

"I really didn't expect to hear the words 'boring' from your mouth," Edwin replied helplessly.

Having got what they came for, the group quickly left the treasure chamber and retreated outside.

Then they saw roads so damaged they couldn't stand on them and buildings everywhere consumed by dragon fire.

BOOM~!

With a loud bang, the dragon, which Peiya had transformed into, was knocked back by Lin Qianxuan, crashing into a tall tower.

"This isn't what I imagined," Edwin said.

"It seems the dragon really is Qianxuan's disciple," Ryan added.

"Your friend seems quite powerful…"

Victoria's eyes were shining with amazement.

"Of course, this is a hero who can wield the Holy Sword…" Ashley said.

"ROAR~!"

With a roar of fury, Peiya completely abandoned resisting the world's correction and began to comply with it, engaging in an official battle with Lin Qianxuan.

Her massive wings flapped, and her shadow blotted out the sky as she charged at Lin Qianxuan.

BANG~!

BANG~!

The two of them clashed in mid-air, and waves of air spread out. Lin Qianxuan was struck by the dragon's tail and forced back fiercely.

"It seems to be enraged. Let's hurry and go!" Edwin exclaimed.

"How do we go? Where do we go? There is magma everywhere here…" Ryan said helplessly.

"I know floating magic, we'll fly over!" Ashley said.

Then, she chanted a spell, and the four of them began to float away over the magma.

Peiya seemed to notice this and immediately turned to head towards them to stop it.

The world's correction still wanted to keep the Princess.

Lin Qianxuan obviously wouldn't allow that to succeed.

On the blade in Lin Qianxuan's hand, light continued to flash.

At some point, he had already broken through the limit of an artifact being able to impart only three abilities.

He had already liberated from Peiya's constraints on the Dao Fruit and formally made it his own.

"Mr. Lin, I can't hold on any longer!" Xiao Ke said.

"That's just your illusion, add a few hundred more abilities and it's no problem!" Lin Qianxuan replied.

Then he slashed fiercely, clashing with Peiya's Dragon Claw.

CRASH~!

The collision released enormous power, pushing the four of them swiftly away from the magma with the gusts of air it created.

With a mighty effort, Lin Qianxuan forced Peiya back.

Swoosh~!

Swoosh~!

The giant dragon flapped its wings, Peiya glaring furiously at Lin Qianxuan, the man who had released her pet, her anger no longer containable.

Instinctually, light flickered across her body.

She also invoked the power of her Dao Fruit.

These enhancements appeared on her scale armor, her claws, her eyes, her dragon tail, and even the organ from which she breathed dragon fire!

"Congratulations, you have transcended the limit!" Lin Qianxuan said with a smile.

This Dao Fruit, which could previously not be used on oneself, could now be.

Limbs are also 'artifacts', eyes are also 'artifacts', everything about the body can be considered 'artifacts'.

Even the body itself is a massive 'artifact'.

She could not apply it to herself before because she was constrained by another force.

Now she had finally lifted that constraint.

This meant she would be able to wield her Dao Fruit more freely.

Truly possessing the power to oppose miraculous items!!

"ROAR~!"

The berserk roar echoed, the sound waves shattering surrounding structures and stirring the magma below.

Then, the giant dragon suddenly charged at Lin Qianxuan.

"Let me see just how strong your Dao really is!"

The light on Lin Qianxuan's body also shone, not only with the power of [artifact] but augmented by other innate powers as well.
