Becoming a Billionaire after Divorce

Chapter 110: Hundred Days Anniversary with the Three Little Ones! (Extra asking for monthly votes!)

The three chattered away before finally settling on hot pot.

It wasn't for any particular reason, except that their very first meal with Uncle had been hot pot. In a way, it was bringing things full circle. It had a rather romantic feel to it.

Eating hot pot in this scorching weather seemed a bit out of season, but with air conditioning now standard in hot pot restaurants, it was no longer a problem. Hot pot had become a year-round activity suitable for any gathering in the nation.

The meal was quick. After settling the bill, Sun Dasheng asked, "Where to next?"

It was still early, just past six o'clock.

"Let's take a stroll on the Bund. It's been ages since we last went there," Li Sili suggested.

"Okay."

"Sure."

Fang Sihan and Yun Yuqing both voted in favor.

"Uncle, what do you think?" Li Sili looked up and asked.

"I have no objections. Let's go."

There was some traffic on the way, so by the time they arrived at the Bund, it was just after seven o'clock. Night was falling, which was perfect, as this was the most beautiful time to be there.

Standing on the Bund promenade and looking across at the Pudong New Area on the opposite bank was breathtaking. The light shows from the towering, ultra-modern skyscrapers seemed to pull you instantly into the future, giving off the vibe of a science fiction novel.

The Bund was crowded with people taking photos and checking in, and among them were many foreign faces. It was clearly a must-see spot for tourists visiting Shanghai City.

While the three women were happily engrossed in taking pictures, a commotion suddenly erupted nearby. Tapping into the classic Chinese love for watching a scene, the three women dragged Sun Dasheng over to see what was happening.

As they neared the crowd, they heard a man roaring, "Li Meijuan, what do you mean, 'just a game'? Who calls kissing a stranger a game?"

"Wang Qiang, are you even a man? Making a fuss over such a little thing! So I kissed an international friend, so what? Why are you so shocked? Do you have any of the magnanimity or sense of duty a Chinese man should have?"

The foreigner apparently understood Chinese, because he chimed in, "To the lady's boyfriend, I apologize. We were really just playing a game with no ill intent."

"Yeah! The challenge is to kiss a hundred strangers in twenty-four hours. They weren't targeting you! It's not like I cheated and cuckolded you, so what are you so angry about?" the woman added, now acting as if she were the one who had been wronged.

Sun Dasheng listened, dumbfounded.

Good grief. Are these foreigners trying to pull a "hundred-man slay" on our turf? How is this any different from what those devils did in Nanjing back then? Aren't they all just insulting us Chinese people? And this woman… forget that she's shameless. She's actually standing there righteously defending their disgusting behavior.

Sun Dasheng scanned the crowd. Most people were just watching the drama from the sidelines, as if it had nothing to do with them. A few looked angry but seemed powerless to do anything.

As for the man at the center of it, the one who had just been cuckolded, he was already on the verge of exploding after his girlfriend's accusations. The foreigner's comment pushed him over the edge.

"Son of a bitch!" he yelled, swinging a punch at the foreigner.

However, he was too thin and frail, no match for the tall, powerfully built Black man. His opponent was not only in better shape but also seemed to have some training. With a single shoulder throw, he slammed the man hard onto the ground.

It looked like every bone in his body had been shattered. He lay on the ground, unable to get up. The man's body was weak, but his spirit wasn't. Lying there, he still managed to howl, "Son of a bitch!"

The crowd of onlookers was divided into several factions:

The sympathetic ones:

[This man is so pitiful. His girlfriend cheated on him right in front of his eyes. They were still holding hands when she kissed someone else.]

[Damn, these foreigners are so arrogant. Do they still think China is as easy to bully as it was a hundred years ago?]

[It's a good thing our country hasn't opened its immigration policies. The world outside is full of all kinds of monsters and scum, and plenty of them.]

The indifferent ones:

[This guy is so spineless. If it were me, I would've just broken up on the spot.]

[Who gives a damn? It's not our problem. Just enjoy the show.]

[What his girlfriend did was wrong, but he shouldn't have thrown a punch. The moment you resort to violence, you're the one in the wrong.]

And the indignant ones:

[Are we just going to stand here and watch? Let's all jump in and teach this guy a lesson!]

[Yeah, isn't there a single man with guts here? Let's get him! How dare he look down on us on our own turf?]

[Exactly! Are we really going to let some Black guy bully us in our own country?]

But for all their shouting, no one made a move.

Just a bunch of empty talkers, Sun Dasheng concluded.

He then looked at the man on the ground. Seeing the man's helpless agony, his desire to fight back but his powerlessness to change his fate, a surge of frustration filled Sun Dasheng's chest.

This whole mess has nothing to do with me, and I certainly don't need to get involved. But... in this society, someone has to step up when it's needed, right?

"Chinese Kung Fu?" the big Black man sneered, giving a thumbs-down gesture.

That remark completely ignited the rage in Sun Dasheng's heart.

He took a step forward.

The three women behind him seemed to notice. Li Sili and Fang Sihan moved to grab him, not wanting their uncle to get caught up in such a messy situation. However, Yun Yuqing stepped in front of them, blocking their path.

They both looked at her, confused. Li Sili, watching Sun Dasheng walk toward the center of the crowd, said anxiously, "Yu Qing, why are you stopping us? We should be stopping Uncle!"

"Yeah, Yu Qing, move! I'll go stop Uncle," the straightforward Fang Sihan said urgently.
