They all got out of the testing room with their faces filled with smiles as they headed towards where many adventurers were.
They got inside the place where there were a lot of people. The place was crowded with both male and female, some carrying swords and some carrying mage stuff.
When Akirion and the girls got in, after less than ten steps, all eyes went for them.
A sudden big pounding noise sounded in Akirion's chest as he felt all the tension from the eyes and noise fade a bit.
'What the—what's wrong with them? Why are they getting quiet? They are acting as if they never saw visitors before.' Akirion thought as he stopped, his eyes searching for the unknown in the middle of the crowd since he knew no one.
Fear flooded him, but a sudden ray of hope appeared to him as he heard a female voice coming from the other side of the crowd.
"Hello, would you mind opening the way? No one is going to see this place if you keep on standing there. This is a workspace for registration. If you've got nothing to do here at the counter, then find a space to chat with your friend!" A blonde-haired girl yelled, her voice louder than the noise of the crowd since they lowered their voices when they glared at Akirion and his friends.
"Come on, Amina, why are you supposed to destroy our lovely spot?" one of the adventurers said as he looked at her.
"Lovely spot, my foot. Move, move, move away! " She was carrying a broom, pointing at the adventurers who were closing the road to the registration tables.
'Amina, huh? Okay then, what are we doing here? We should head to her since she's talking about registration.' Akirion thought, his gaze searching for her behind the crowd; he thought of telling his friends that they should head to the Amina person.
"Guys…!" He got cut by Elina, who suddenly said,
"Yes, let's head over there!"
Akirion got taken aback. "Huh," his mind raced, unable to join the dots. 'How did she know what I was going to say? ' he thought, his eyes widened as he saw the girls heading to where Amina was.
He followed the three girls that led the way. Suddenly, the girls stopped on the way.
Akirion didn't see that he was still moving, his mind lost in thoughts as he thought of a way to defeat a monster if they encounter a strong one again.
'This time I should be fast; draining my energy is no longer a good choice.'
He thought, his eyes open but not concentrated on the road. He then woke up and looked forward, where he saw some people in front of him.
"Coming through, sorry, coming through," he said as he easily passed by the boys that stood in front of the three girls. Akirion realized that the girls were no longer in front of him.
He turned back and saw them standing behind some boys who were standing like bodyguards.
"Hey guys, let's go. Why are you still there?" Akirion asked as he got surprised by their enthusiasm that faded since they showed a lot of it.
Suddenly, a woman's voice said, "Hey you guys, stop whatever you are doing before I kick you out of here." Amina yelled at the boys who were standing in front of the girls.
They easily opened the road for the girls, but Akirion didn't understand Amina's words; he was left confused as he thought of what he was doing that would get him kicked out.
He looked behind and saw the boys that were standing in front of the girls now away from the road.
"Oh, did she…. Wait, why are those guys glaring at me?" he asked, his face molding, hiding his smile.
Amina now spoke to the newbies who were standing near the desks instead of registering or asking, since the girls had already reached Akirion. "Hey, you guys, stop standing over there; I'm waiting for you if you need my help."
"Ohh, okay." Akirion said as he looked at her with a warm chuckle.
They went to the counter and found Amina standing in front of her counter since she was clearing the road a while ago.
"Hey, I suppose you are new here, aren't you?" Amina asked, her face filled with a smile as she showed happiness towards the newbies.
"Yes, we are!" Elina responded.
"Okay, would you like me to fill you in on what we do here, or are you ready to register?"
"Yes, fill us in, please; it will be better for our understanding." Elina replied, her face looking happy.
"Okay, let's have a seat." Amina pointed at a place where seats were found.
She took them to the right side, where there was a place to sit, a couch for those who will be waiting for something.
They took their seats and gave their ears to Amina.
"Okay, so we are making a good living for those who can fight. It's either you use magic, swords, or more to fight; we don't care. As long as you complete your task, then you'll earn your money."
Akirion and his friends nodded as they understood the first line.
She continued, "I guess you guys have heard about dungeons before."
A sudden denial response came from Emily, "No, not really, but yes, today, I guess." She panicked; her mind and tongue raced. She was thinking while talking at the same time.
"It's okay, I'll explain. A dungeon is more like a mansion for monsters, crafted by the user, and it's magical too. They started appearing ever since monsters started appearing too, creating trouble for us, earth dwellers. These dungeons are filled in this Elysian Kingdom, in the jungle, but they are expanding, coming to the city, coming from the East, where the Xylonian Empire is located." Amina continued her explanation.
Akirion asked as he heard something familiar, "Ohh, the Xylonian Empire, where monsters were first discovered?"
"Oh, seems like you were well informed." Amina praised his question.
"Nahh, it's just my research, discoveries due to my curiosity, that's all."
Amina nodded, and then she said, "Okay, let me continue. The dungeons can only be destroyed after killing the boss, and that's when you guys get in since you are our best fighters. You guys will destroy the boss, and then the dungeon will collapse; after that, you will be winners since it collapses after the death of the boss."
"Mhh, sounds like a game!" Akirion said as he put his left thumb on his chin.
"Yes, totally, so if we fail to destroy the boss, we can go back home, rest, regroup, and then attack again?" Elina fired her question.
A boring answer came from Amina: "Unfortunately no. If you get in, you won't be able to get out until you win over the boss."
"Oh, that's scary," Emma said as she looked away from Amina.
Amina agreed with her, "Yes, that's the only scary part, but we can help those who failed to get out after a day. If we can't locate you guys and the dungeon that you took remains standing, we will launch a rescue team for you guys. Isn't that good?" She smiled, showing the pureness of her point.
Akirion scratched his head trying to think of a suitable response. "Ahh, I think it is, but…"
Elina added, "Yes, but the whole day, it's kind of hard to put it in my head since I know how strong those things can be." The others nodded, their eyes on Amina.
"I feel where you are coming from, but it's bad that I can't help in changing our terms and policies. So that's bad. I hope that you won't mistakenly find a dungeon that has a higher level than you guys can handle since those things can be different."
"Different, huh?" Akirion asked, his voice low, barely above a whisper, trying to get information from Amina since he already knew.
"Yes, there are many strong ones that we've discovered now, for example, the browns, greens, oranges, yellows, and whites. And they are different in the colors of their aura and smell, and some can talk and some cannot, so for newbies, you should get the dungeon with a brown gate."
"Brown gate?" Elina asked.
"Yes, simple as that, dungeon gates are differentiated by the boss, so everyone is always, almost, safe."
"Almost, huh." "Akirion?" he asked, his eyes narrowed.
"Yes, there can be some mistakes, but it's rare." She cutely smiled, assuring those four that it's completely rare.
She then asked, "So are you guys ready to make money? "
"Ahh, I still have a question." Emily raised her hand.
"Okay, ask?"
"How do we get paid, since the contract said, money first not later! money first,"
"Ohh, seems like you thoroughly read your contract!"
"Yes, I did."
"Your pay depends on how hard or simple your mission is, and mostly, we use your ranks to help you choose your suitable dungeon."
Akirion asked his question, his eyes narrowed as he glared at Amina, "Ohh, so if I pass a low-level dungeon, I'll get that money, and if I level up, I'll get more money after completing more tasks?"
"Yes, and there's one more thing after completing your task. Get a crystal from a monster that you killed, and if you have time, some dungeons have some valuable crystals, and that will help you to get more money."
"That's good to hear."
"So are you guys ready to be our members by registering?"
"Let's head to the dungeon."
