Chapter 529: The Powerful "Contract Worker"_1

"Fuck! Damn it, punk! Who the hell are you? How dare you kick the door of our White Tiger Gang?!" In the room, a boorish man weighing about three hundred pounds, dressed in pajamas, was lying on the bed, glaring at Lin Feng, who had kicked the door open.

Lin Feng didn't respond. He just glanced at the furnishings, realizing it was a double room with two beds. The quilts on both beds were messed up, indicating two people were staying there. The three metal lunch boxes that had just been delivered were still on a side table, apparently untouched.

Lin Feng strolled over, opened the three lunch boxes, picked them up, brought them to his nose, and sniffed.

No anomalies!

It seems the assassin's targets were himself and Wu Mei.

"Fuck off, you lunatic! You kick open my door and sniff my breakfast? Could you be any more perverted?!" The sturdy man on the bed was infuriated by Lin Feng's bizarre behavior. He leaped up from the bed, itching to grab Lin Feng and teach him a lesson.

"A'hu, what the hell is going on? Who is he?" Just then, a middle-aged man in a bathrobe walked out of the bathroom and asked coldly.

"Boss, I have no idea who this guy is. He seems a bit crazy. I'll kick him out right now!" The burly man looked nervous when he saw the middle-aged man emerge from the bathroom. With a forced smile, he replied, then turned back to shout at Lin Feng, "Damn it! Are you insane? If you're sick, why not just stay at home instead of causing trouble out here? Let me tell you, I'm a member of the White Tiger Gang in Jiangzhou. You're messing with the wrong people!"

"I didn't intend to cause trouble. What happened earlier was just a misunderstanding. Sorry to bother you." Lin Feng shook his head and spoke softly. He had come over, partly to verify if he and Wu Mei were the assassin's targets, and partly because he was worried the assassin might have been deranged enough to poison all the seafood rice, potentially saving these two seemingly innocent men.

But since their food wasn't poisoned, Lin Feng didn't want to say any more and prepared to leave.

"Damn it, you think you can just walk away like that? You broke our door and messed with our breakfast! You think you can just leave?" The burly man was almost driven mad by Lin Feng's actions. Although the White Tiger Gang wasn't a major gang in Jiangzhou City, it still controlled a few streets. He was used to lording it over others. Moreover, with their gang leader present, Lin Feng's behavior—coming and going as he pleased—was a blatant disregard for them!

Could anyone dare to ignore the White Tiger Gang? Absolutely not. Even the Qingzi Sect had invited the White Tiger Gang's members to participate in their events. That showed their status!

Lin Feng also felt it was inappropriate to leave just like that. He had been a bit too impulsive kicking the door. Lin Feng glanced at the broken door bolt, then turned to the burly man and said earnestly, "There's always a free breakfast buffet on the ship. I'll have someone send a new breakfast over for you. As for the door, I'll pay to have it repaired. How does that sound?"

"Damn... If I break your arm and then call a doctor to fix it for you, how would that sound?" Hearing Lin Feng's words, the burly man let out a cold, sarcastic laugh.

COUGH, COUGH... That sounds fair, but you want to break my arm? With your strength, it'd be a bit of a stretch. Lin Feng looked at the burly man and smirked without saying a word. He knew the other man in the room was the one who called the shots; this brute was just a henchman or bodyguard.

Wu Mei watched Lin Feng with concern. Although she knew Lin Feng was strong, seeing the White Tiger Gang's burly man—nearly two meters tall and built like an iron tower—she subconsciously worried Lin Feng would be at a disadvantage.

"A'hu, hold on. Let's find out what's going on first." The middle-aged man frowned, looked at Lin Feng, and stopped the burly man's advance, speaking in a deep voice.

As the Gang Leader of the White Tiger Gang, Zhang Yi was not as impulsive as the burly man. Seeing Lin Feng's peculiar actions, his first reaction wasn't anger, but curiosity about why Lin Feng was behaving so strangely.

Seeing Lin Feng's neat attire, handsome appearance, and the beautiful Wu Mei standing outside the door, Zhang Yi certainly didn't think Lin Feng was merely a lunatic.

"Boss..." A'hu couldn't understand why his boss would want to talk further with a weirdo like Lin Feng. To him, Lin Feng was clearly nuts. Hmm, if Lin Feng wasn't a lunatic yet, A'hu wouldn't mind beating him until he became one.

"You, be quiet for now." Zhang Yi stopped A'hu from speaking further. He narrowed his eyes at Lin Feng and inquired, "May I ask your name, friend? And which path do you walk, hero?"

Zhang Yi's speech carried a slightly archaic tone, the way traditional figures in the underworld spoke. So-called 'honor among thieves'—this was the customary way people on the path conversed.

Subconsciously, Zhang Yi regarded Lin Feng as someone not to be underestimated. After all, anyone who could kick open that heavy room door couldn't be an ordinary person. That solid metal door bolt, at least two centimeters in diameter, had snapped, with only half of it remaining. That wasn't the kick of an ordinary man.

"My name is Lin Feng. I'm currently, shall we say, a contract worker for the Qingzi Sect," Lin Feng said with a self-deprecating smile.

Strictly speaking, Lin Feng was indeed a contract worker for the Qingzi Sect. He had an oral agreement with Young Master Dragon: a ten million settlement fee, ten boxing matches, and two million for each win. It was, in essence, an employment contract.

"Contract worker?" Zhang Yi was a bit puzzled by this novel term Lin Feng used. However, he quickly recalled that the Qingzi Sect had invited various gangs and societies to participate in a large-scale boxing tournament. So, this Lin Feng was probably a fighter invited by the Qingzi Sect!

"You barged in just to sniff those three boxes of fried rice?" Zhang Yi glanced at the three open meal boxes and asked in a deep voice.

"Yes." Lin Feng hadn't expected Zhang Yi's mind to be so sharp. He'd immediately connected it to the three boxes of fried rice, unlike that reckless A'hu, who only blamed him for barging in and causing trouble.

"I've been on many cruises, but I've never had breakfast delivered to the room. I was just wondering what was going on. So, there really is something wrong with this food?" Zhang Yi's expression turned grim as he asked again.

"There's nothing wrong with your three boxes." Lin Feng shook his head with a smile. He inwardly cursed his own lack of experience in such matters. If he had reacted a moment slower earlier, he'd probably be the one lying on the floor by now!

Hearing Lin Feng's words, Zhang Yi's expression became even more complex. Lin Feng coming over like this meant there *was* something wrong with *his* meal. Someone was actually poisoning food on the ship? This was startling news!
