I Got Rich Through My Gambling System

Chapter 51: New Venture

'Drinks, huh… a gambling den with alcohol.'

Leonard suddenly thought of all the times he had gambled and drunk on his last life. It was one of the best feelings he had experienced in life. For some reason, now that it was mentioned, he missed that kind of feeling.

'It's definitely a very good idea,' he thought, smirking to himself. 'If I sell the drinks here… I could also sell them to other shops nearby. The food stalls, maybe even the taverns. That's another business right there.'

But just as he was getting carried away with the thought, an image flashed in his mind.

Gareth.

He remembered that time when he handed him his alcoholic drink. Leonard could almost taste it again. The beer he tasted that time was bitter with a weird aftertaste that stayed like regret.

His face twisted before he even realized it.

"Ugh. That stuff was terrible," he muttered under his breath, shaking his head in disgust. "Those drinks are trash."

The men nearby blinked, confused at his sudden reaction, but Leonard wasn't paying attention to them anymore. His expression had changed completely after a second. It went from disgust to determination.

"That's no problem," He clenched his fist, his eyes gleaming. "I'll make my own then."

A confident grin stretched across his face after saying those words. "Yeah. I'll make the best alcohol in town!" He muttered again with conviction.

Leonard straightened his back, as if announcing it to the heavens.

'System! I want to open a winery or whatever it is called here!'

A familiar chime rang faintly in his mind the moment he said that.

[Congratulations!]

[Mission Completed.]

[You have gained +1 luck]

[You have been rewarded 1x Bronze Mystery Box.]

[30 gold coins have been added to your wealth.]

Leonard blinked in surprise as the system messages flashed one after another in front of him.

"Wait… I accomplished that mission already?" He stared blankly at the glowing text.

For a second, he just stood there, looking dumbfounded. Then, as the realization sank in, a grin slowly spread across his face.

"Hah! That's what I'm talking about!" he laughed under his breath, clearly pleased with himself. "It's the easiest mission I've ever done."

Turning back to the group of men who were still busy laughing and drinking, Leonard chuckled. They didn't know it, but they'd just helped him complete another mission.

"Hey," he called, walking back to them. The men looked up in surprise as Leonard threw four silver coins in the air, one for each of them.

"Catch them boys."

The coins glimmered in the air. The four men scrambled to catch it.

"Huh? For us?" one of them asked, eyes wide.

"Consider it a thank-you gift," Leonard said with a grin. "You guys just helped me more than you think."

The group exchanged looks before bursting into cheers.

"Leonard, you're the best!"

"Long live the boss!"

"We'll definitely come back here again!"

"We'll be your most loyal customer!"

Their laughter boomed across the room again, but Leonard just laughed along and waved a hand. "Save it. Just don't lose it in the next round, alright?"

He left them still cheering as he walked away, shaking his head with amusement. The den was too noisy now as the afternoon struck. People who went to work in the morning were now here, hoping to double their income for the day.

With so much chaos, there was no way they would be able to think straight in the chaos.

Leonard decided to slip outside; the cool but hot air was hitting his skin. The noise from inside could still be heard faintly in the street, but at least it was quieter.

"Alright," he muttered, stretching his arms as he walked a few steps away. "Let's think."

He paused for a moment, his confident grin disappearing just a little.

"But, how do you even… make alcohol again?"

Leonard frowned, scratching his head. He remembered drinking it plenty of times in his past life, but making it? That was another story.

"They're like fermentation of fruits… right?" he mumbled, unsure of it. "Or was it grains? Or both?"

He sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"Damn it, I really don't know. I just know it should taste good when it's done right."

Still, even without knowing the details, a spark of excitement flickered in his chest.

"Well, whatever it is," Leonard said, straightening up again, "I'll figure it out. And when I do, I'll make something that puts every alcohol in this town to shame." He grinned to himself, his eyes gleaming with mischief and determination.

"Fermentation of fruits… then sugar… whatever it is," he muttered as he kicked a small pebble. "How hard can it be? I can just mix stuff, wait, and boom, I can have alcohol, right?"

However, Leonard paused, then frowned.

"No, that sounds like a recipe for poison."

After a moment of silent frustration, he sighed and lifted his head toward the sky.

"Hey, System," he said out loud, crossing his arms. "So what if you help me?"

There was a short pause before a faint ding echoed in his mind.

[Assistance request detected.]

[Can you specify the kind of help you needed, Host?]

Leonard looked at the air in disbelief.

"With making alcohol, of course! You think I know how to make that stuff from scratch?"

For a few seconds, the system was silent as if it was actually thinking about his request. Then, a small chime rang again.

[Alright, understood, Host.]

[Help Processing…]

A new panel appeared in front of Leonard's eyes, glowing faintly with golden text.

[System Fee: 150 silver coins.]

[When you buy this, you'll instantly learn how to brew and ferment drinks—from fruit wines to aged ale. This will include everything you need to know, Host, from picking ingredients, making barrels, controlling flavor and alcohol, and keeping your brews consistent.]

[Don't worry, the process is adjusted to fit this world's level of technology while maintaining the purity and richness of the modern drinks you're used to.

"Damn… what a great offer," Leonard's jaw fell open. "But what is that system fee? 150 coins? Why is it more expensive now?"

[Because this is one-of-a-kind knowledge, Host. This will ensure you're going to succeed, so don't be cheap and just take my help."

Leonard stared at the screen in front of him with disbelief written all over his face.

"You're robbing me in real time!"

[Correction, Host. You are being offered an opportunity for business expansion.]

Leonard just shook his head before, letting out a deep sigh.

"Fine. Fine! You've got me there. Just make sure this is worth every coin I will spend."
