Hunting MILFs in a Trash Eroge

Chapter 30: Fanged Rabbit

Damien blinked, his brows arching in surprise.

'A hidden quest?'

The concept of hidden quests existing within the system surprised him a bit, making him wonder whether there were more hidden quests like this.

His chest thrummed with excitement. The system never disappointed him—it always had another card hidden up its sleeve.

'An inventory?' he thought quickly, focusing on the new tab.

[Inventory (C-rank)]

[Level: 1]

[Description: You can store up to 10 items in the system inventory. This number can be increased as the skill levels up. Cost: 20 mana, Cooldown: None]

The words filled his vision, every line like a gift wrapped in gold. A slow, dangerous smirk carved across his lips as his thoughts darkened with satisfaction.

'Just what I needed.'

His gaze flickered toward the trees surrounding the clearing.

He felt quite glad he decided to purchase a suitable weapon from the system first before going to hunt the beasts.

With this inventory, he wouldn't need to drag carcasses through the dirt or leave anything behind. He could store them neatly, without waste, without exposure.

The thought of activating it now gnawed at him, eager to test the ability immediately. But Damien forced himself to hold back.

He didn't have infinite mana, so he couldn't be too careless with how he used his skills.

Already, the faint tug of depletion pulled at him. He could feel it, the hollowness beneath his ribs where mana flowed.

That one command—[Inspect]—had shaved away thirty points of his total pool. His body was still recovering, mana slowly dripping back into him like water refilling a cracked jar.

Using [Inventory] right now would demand another twenty. In total, he would be down by fifty, nearly an eighth of his entire mana reserves gone in an instant.

So it was better he saved it, especially since he would be going to hunt beasts.

With a low exhale, Damien slid the silver blade back into its sheath, the leather swallowing the metal with another soft shhhk. The daggers felt heavy but right in his hands, just perfect.

He hooked them securely to his side, his eyes gleaming faintly as he lifted his gaze once more to the forest ahead.

His boots pressed softly against the soil as he walked, making sure to keep his guard up with each step.

The first few minutes passed in silence, and he didn't meet any beast, neither was he attacked.

Then—

Rustle!

Damien froze.

The sound was sharp, deliberate, coming from the thick bushes to his right.

His instincts flared like a sudden blaze, his muscles tightening, his eyes narrowing. Without hesitation, he reached for his new weapons.

Swish!

The silver daggers slid free from their sheaths with fluid ease, gleaming even in the dim light of the forest. His stance lowered, every nerve sharpened, every ounce of his being focused on the sound.

The rustling grew louder—branches snapping, leaves parting—until finally, the creature revealed itself.

A rabbit.

But not like the timid, harmless ones he had seen on Earth. No, this one was different. Much larger, its body robust and stocky, built with sinewy strength beneath its fur.

Its coat was a mottled mix of brown and white, shaggy in places, sleek in others, blending almost seamlessly into the woodland backdrop.

Its eyes glowed with a wild, feral intensity—fierce, unyielding, like a predator rather than prey.

And then there were the fangs.

Two long, jagged white fangs jutted down from its upper jaw, gleaming faintly with saliva in the muted light.

They were sharp, menacing, completely unlike anything belonging to a normal rabbit.

With every small shift of its jaw, Damien could see the razor edges, designed to tear through flesh just as easily as they could shear leaves.

His lips curved slightly upward.

'Fanged Rabbits…' he thought.

They were quite well-known within the village, and thr forest was mainly filled with them.

But "common" didn't mean weak.

They were Omnivores, unlike the cute rabbits back on Earth. These things would eat roots and berries one day, then could decide to hunt other animals for food the next.

They could also hunt human beings, as their fangs were know to be sharp enough to cut through human flesh.

They were nimble, fast, dexterous—able to dart across the forest floor like streaks of lightning.

But they were also valuable.

Their meat was tender, sweet, coveted by both villagers and traders. Hunters often sought them out not just for the experience, but for the coin their carcasses could fetch in the market.

Damien's eyes gleamed at the thought, hunger and calculation mixing in equal measure.

'I can definitely get some good cash if I sell its meat,' he thought, the corners of his mouth twitching into a sharper grin.

The rabbit, however, twitched in unease.

Its nose wrinkled as it sniffed the air, its ears flicking rapidly, its beady eyes locking on Damien's form.

Something about his gaze—the way he looked at it, not like prey, but like a man staring at his next meal—made the beast shiver.

It froze, the fur along its back bristling. For all its speed and ferocity, the rabbit felt, for just an instant, something primal: danger.

And Damien… only tightened his grip on the daggers, his anticipation growing.

The rabbit's ears twitched violently as its instincts screamed danger. Its body lowered, its back legs coiled like springs, ready to launch it back into the safety of the bushes.

It wasn't used to this kind of gaze, to this oppressive aura radiating from a human.

Subconsciously, the beast began edging backward, preparing to bolt into the shadows where it knew it could vanish like smoke.

But Damien wasn't about to let it escape.

His eyes sharpened, the grin on his lips spreading in a predatory curve. The instant he saw the twitch of retreat in the rabbit's muscles, he moved. His body tensed, his legs coiling with raw energy before releasing all at once.

[Minor Speed Boost]!

He immediately activated one of his skills.
