Official Career Storm

Chapter 1266

"Political Commissioner Wen is coming for an inspection?"

"To maintain order."

There are too many people attending the music festival, and with the holiday, many parents have brought their children here to play, so safety is the top priority.

Otherwise, Wen Ru, as the commissioner, wouldn't come here in person.

"Commissioner Wen is quite responsible."

Wen Ru ignored his sarcastic comment, looking around him: "Alone?"

"I arranged to meet a friend; they're not here yet."

"Girlfriend?"

"Are you very concerned?"

"Of course I'm concerned. I also want to see what kind of woman can keep you bound."

Song Guanchao chuckled, took out a cigarette, and was about to light it when Wen Ru took it away.

"There are a lot of people at the music festival. Don't smoke if you can help it."

Song Guanchao didn't say anything and put the cigarette away.

"Is your girlfriend still on the way?"

"Mm."

"Isn't it boring?"

"Just say what you want."

"If you're bored, I can keep you company."

Wen Ru lifted her chin, and following her gaze, there was a small grove over there.

Wen Ru fluttered her eyelashes seductively: "Do you want to? I'm in uniform."

"..." Song Guanchao's eye twitched, "You should focus on your work."

"Then after the festival ends, can I accompany you?"

"...No need."

"Oh, I forgot, you have a girlfriend."

Wen Ru said, "Is your girlfriend good in bed? Does she use her mouth on you too?"

Song Guanchao frowned, wondering what was with this woman, discussing such things constantly.

"You carry on with your work, I'm leaving."

As Song Guanchao turned to leave, Wen Ru said, "My period's late."

Song Guanchao turned his head, frowning, and scrutinized her with suspicion.

Wen Ru said, "I'm not lying to you, it's really late. So, if you want, you don't need to take precautions."

Song Guanchao chuckled but said nothing, then turned and left.

He wasn't sure if what Wen Ru said was true or false.

If it's really late, it means there's a high chance she could be pregnant!

As for who the father is, does he even need to ask?

Song Guanchao rubbed his forehead.

This woman truly knows how to play mind games.

Song Guanchao returned to the parking lot, sitting in the car waiting for Wu Qiangwei.

The time passed quickly, and before he knew it, it was dark.

In the distance, the stage had performers coming on to sing.

The stage was surrounded layer upon layer, and the music and the cheers of the crowd could be heard clearly for miles.

Song Guanchao smoked one cigarette after another, and finally, around six o'clock, Wu Qiangwei's WeChat message came through.

She had finished work and was on her way over.

By nearly 7:30, Wu Qiangwei finally arrived.

"Have you been waiting long?" Wu Qiangwei had changed clothes.

Probably to fit the music festival atmosphere; she wore skinny jeans, a pure white camisole, and a pink checkered shirt over it.

A denim baseball cap was perched on her head.

The youthful exhilaration was right in his face.

"Not long."

Song Guanchao looked at her face, grinning foolishly nonstop.

Wu Qiangwei resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

She found that in front of Song Guanchao, she couldn't help but act a bit childish.

She took a mask out of her pocket and put it on, saying, "Let's go."

Song Guanchao didn't say anything at that.

She's the Mayor, with Wen Ru here, and possibly other officials too.

Although being recognized wasn't a big deal, if they were seen together, inevitably some would talk.

Though she wore a hat and mask, her tall, curvaceous figure still made for a striking view.

In the music festival's lights, as they walked, eyes were constantly drawn to her, desires unabashed, taking her in from head to toe.

They walked toward the stage, but the crowd was too dense to get in, so they had to stand on the outskirts.

Wu Qiangwei glanced at the time, looked toward the stage, and said, "It's about to start."

"What's about to start?" Song Guanchao didn't quite get it.

Wu Qiangwei shook her head, didn't speak, just kept staring at the stage.

At this moment, her phone buzzed.

She took it out, seeing a message from Fan Jie.

"Qiangwei, I'm about to go on stage."

"There are too many people, I can't see you, but I know you're here."

Song Guanchao leaned forward and saw the two messages.

Damn, this Fan Jie is really something when it comes to romance.

He's actually going to sing on stage?

He looked at Wu Qiangwei's face, trying to discern any change in her expression, but couldn't see anything with the mask on.

Just then, the crowd erupted in cheers.

A new band was coming on stage.

Song Guanchao wasn't into celebrities or music, and didn't recognize any of the band members now appearing on stage.

Though they were dressed quite stylishly and cheekily.

And among them, wearing ripped jeans, a sleeveless denim jacket, and sunglasses, was Fan Jie.

"What band is this?" Song Guanchao asked.

Wu Qiangwei shook her head: "I don't know."

"Hey, is that Fan Jie?" Song Guanchao feigned surprise.

"Mm."

"Quite flashy."

Wu Qiangwei didn't respond, but found it amusing inside.

His sour tone could be heard by anyone.

Soon, Fan Jie on stage began to sing.

After three or four songs, the atmosphere among the audience was fully animated, incredibly lively.

When another song finished, the band took a short break, then Fan Jie suddenly grabbed the microphone and said, "This last song is dedicated to a female friend of mine."

As soon as he said that, a commotion arose from the audience below.

Fan Jie continued, "She is my college classmate and my eternal moonlight..."

Damn!

Song Guanchao clenched his teeth so hard they nearly cracked.

This guy, seriously, what a load of crap!

He hadn't even spoken to Wu Qiangwei much in college, but now she's his eternal moonlight.

Ridiculous, truly ridiculous!

But some women fall for that.

Who knows if Wu Qiangwei does.

Fan Jie said a lot, bringing many women in the audience to tears, leaving the accompanying boyfriends speechless.

After finishing, Fan Jie sang a love song.

Once he got off the stage, Song Guanchao finally breathed a sigh of relief.

However, soon after he left the stage, Wu Qiangwei's phone rang again.

It was from Fan Jie.

"Qiangwei, how was my singing?"

"Pretty good."

"That's good. By the way, do you want to come backstage to meet my bandmates?"

"No need."

"Alright then." Fan Jie didn't press further; her coming tonight was already a good start.

Being too eager would only backfire.

"I'm done here. I'm coming to find you. Where are you near the stage?"

"On the south side."

"What are you wearing?"

"Jeans, checkered shirt."

"Got it, I'll be right there."

Song Guanchao noted all of this, feeling more than a bit jealous.

Their conversation seemed so natural.

Unlike him, talking to her felt like reporting to a boss.

"He's on his way," Wu Qiangwei suddenly said.

"Oh."

"What do you plan to do?"

"Plan for what?"

"Weren't you telling me to be careful about him?"

"Just watch me."
