"...So... Evelyn, you're the one who knows what this is. Do you know what we can do to get out of this dungeon safely before we get killed by something dangerous?" Yter asks me as I think.
"Well... 'Safely,' no, because there's no way to know where the traps are since they could be anywhere, but we can leave normally. The dungeon might not differentiate between external and internal beings, but it won't exactly stop us from leaving."
"If we can reach wall 1, we can leave through where we entered, which isn't difficult... the problem is, as everyone knows, every dungeon has a point on each 'floor' that expels everyone to floor 1."
"But that point, during the elimination process, gets filled with traps. It was made that way to prevent strong things from escaping the dungeon."
"So all we can do is walk all the way back and pray we don't fall into a trap, and if we do fall into one, we must pray it's not a lethal one."
"But hey, what are the chances we'll actually fall into a trap, right? It's not like we're unlucky people," I say confidently, knowing that while the chance exists, it's not that high since we aren't too deep.
Although, as I say this, I completely forget the fact that the universe hates me and fate does everything it can to screw me over, and for fate to play a prank on me isn't difficult.
"So we just have to try to go back? Evelyn-chan, that could take a few days. Wouldn't it be better to stay here?" Syl'Vyr asks.
"No!! If we stay in one place for too long, the dungeon might send a monster here to try and kill us! Even if we aren't targets, the dungeon is still hunting monsters and partially knows where we are!"
"As long as everyone keeps moving, it will have a harder time tracking us, because it can only tell the general area where we are, not the exact location! So I'd say the range is between 100 and 400 meters! It knows we're here, but not the exact spot in this area!" I say rapidly.
"Then we should go back as soon as possible," Ylya states, getting up from where she was sitting.
"Well... yes, we should, but it's dark, and walking in the dark could be dangerous and..."
"It doesn't matter! You just said the dungeon might come to kill us. It doesn't make sense to stay here resting for 6 or 7 hours, giving the dungeon more time to kill us," she says with a defiant expression, showing she disagrees with me.
'Ah... dammit, it had to be a rebellious girl trying to fuck everything up!!...' Walking in the dark increases the chance of us falling into a trap.
"Let's be rational! It's 'night.' We could easily fall into a trap if there's one! It's better to walk during the 'day' because then at least we can see some of the traps," I say, raising my voice and standing up.
"Who cares?! Now that it's dark is even better for not being found! If we wait until it's light again, our chances of being spotted increase!" she says, stepping closer to try to impose herself and intimidate me.
"But I'm the strategist here! We should follow what I say! You didn't even know about this situation until I mentioned it!" I say, stepping closer too and puffing out my chest to impose myself and show I'm not afraid, even though I am.
"Strategist of your group!! But Yter and I are a duo! We only came with you because the dungeon needed at least five people! But we never said we would obey you!" She steps even closer, stopping right against me, her chest pressed against mine.
"But I'm still the one in charge here! I'm the only one here with the proper leadership skills for this situation! You don't know anything!!!" I take a step forward, pressing her back with my chest, making the two of us flatten against each other.
If she wants to fight, I'll get into this verbal brawl! I won't put myself at risk because of her rebelliousness.
"You cow! You think you can boss me around? If you don't want to come with me, Yter and I will leave on our own!" she says, taking a step forward and pushing me slightly with her chest.
"Y-You clueless idiot!!! Who are you calling a cow? You don't know anything! Without me here, you two would die because you didn't even know about the risk! You should actually be grateful I didn't just abandon you and run off with Eve and Syl'Vyr!" I say arrogantly.
They only know about the danger thanks to me. They wanted to come alone before, and if they had found three others who didn't know about this, everyone would have died.
"You want me to be grateful? I didn't ask for your help with this! It's obvious you're a weakling and that's why you're in the strategist class! Because you don't have the power to truly lead from the front, so you stay in the rear like a coward!"
"You think knowing a few things makes you special? Anyone can learn that kind of stuff if they try," she insults me, pushing me back with even more force, making our chests flatten as I break out in a cold sweat from nervousness, but I hide it.
Eve and Syl'Vyr look like they want to intervene, seeing my discomfort, but Yter puts his hand on his dagger, showing that if the two of them do anything, he will attack, which makes Eve put her hand on her sword and Syl'Vyr grip her staff as if they're about to fight.
The atmosphere grows tense while we're having this stupid argument instead of just deciding what to do.
"Now you're attacking my class? At least I have a brain to think about the future! You brain-dead moron! Look at the situation we're in, and instead of listening to someone who knows things, you want to do everything yourself!" I take a step forward, pushing her back more.
"Brain-dead? You pretentious bitch!!" She shoves me for real now, with her hands, making me hit a tree. Eve draws her sword while Yter draws his dagger, showing clear murderous intent directed at each other.
"Don't call me a bitch!!" I shove Ylya, who trips on a tree root and falls to the ground. Yter lunges at me while Eve intercepts him with a kick that sends him flying into a tree, which crumbles.
"YOU THINK YOU CAN PUSH ME AND HUMILIATE ME LIKE THAT?!! I'LL KILL YOU!!" Ylya jumps on top of me, knocking me to the ground while pinning my hands! Syl'Vyr uses earth magic, destabilizing the entire area, which gives me room to push Ylya off and reverse our positions.
"Y-You wretched girl!! This is no time to fight!!! I'm right and I know things, you should listen to me and not keep arguing!!" I climb on top of Ylya, trying to keep her pinned, but she stands up with me on top of her, holding my hips so my feet don't touch the ground, showing the difference in our strength.
She runs while holding me and slams me against a tree. I hear a dry crack as my body shudders. It hurts a little, but it's not a big deal because I have 95% pain reduction, which helps a lot.
I feel like part of my spine bone cracked. Even though my body seems like flesh and blood, I'm still a living marionette, so very strong impacts create fractures. Fortunately, I know it will restore itself over time.
But this shows that Ylya is much stronger physically than I thought, since she managed to damage me despite my SSS+ vitality, even if it's minuscule damage.
"Shut up!! You're so arrogant and..." I say angrily, but then everyone stops when we hear a strange click and a sound like a whip, followed by a shattering noise like glass. Yter, who was about to try to strike Eve, stops and looks at me and Ylya.
His expression quickly changes from neutral/angry to fear, and I see Eve quickly try to perceive what's happening, but unfortunately, she doesn't have time to act fast enough.
I look down, and Ylya does too, and we see a red circle spinning on the ground. It's full of strange symbols, and the symbol has several eyes.
"O-Oh shit..." I murmur in shock, and immediately a red glow occurs, covering everything within the area of the circle. The last thing I see is Eve and Yter trying to run towards us to help.
And then suddenly, the two of us are in a completely different forest. This one has black trees with blood-red vines and creepers.
The leaves of the trees are very dark red, while their trunks are completely black like charcoal. I smell a strange odor, like a sweet mixture of cinnamon, honey, and something more unpleasant, like rotten meat and carrion.
The ground beneath is utterly dark, not black, but a color so dark it seems black, giving the place an even more gloomy aspect.
"..." Ylya, still holding me by the waist, looks around, realizing we've fallen into a teleportation trap, precisely what I had warned about before, and precisely a dangerous trap.
"..." She looks at me with growing dread while I also become terrified at being so far from Eve and Syl'Vyr.
Ylya grips my hips tighter, as if trying to cling to anything still connected to the previous location, while I look at the ground, seeing the same circle, but now dull and faded.
"Y-You stupid idiot!! We fell into this trap because of you!!" I push her face away to make her let go of me, plus this stupid position is strangely way too suggestive, and her hand is gripping me firmly in a very intrusive way.
"..." She finally lets me go, and I drop to the ground as she takes a step back, falling on her backside with a look like she's about to cry. I also feel like crying because this is almost a death sentence, but I hold back the urge because I must return from here alive. I refuse to die in this place.
