F-Rank Puppeteer!! But I’ll be Queen, and I’m not a narcissist!!!!!

Chapter 52: Demon King

I look at Marie, who has an extremely irritated look on her face. I quickly get up off the ground to try and explain.

[Marie's Favorability -15 (Total = -10/100)]

Immediately, I'm frozen, seeing how she went from positive to negative at an absurd level, gaining -15 points all at once. She walks away from me and starts down the hall, extremely furious.

"...A-Ah..." I try to say something, but she's already gone. I can only sigh in disappointment it seems like everything is going wrong today.

First there was Esther being stingy. I really didn't expect her to cheat after the competition ended after 24 hours. Of course, I'm not sad or upset that she did that.

I'm bummed that I lost money... Let's face it, I know Esther, I didn't expect her to do that, but it also wasn't impossible considering her personality.

What truly upsets me is losing the money I would have used to get stronger and improve Eve. That's truly disappointing and sad, because I need the money and since I lost the competition, I won't be earning anything.

"Haaa...I wonder what the Demon King is up to." He doesn't show up much in the game outside of the dialogue where he gives tasks, missions and assignments to each candidate for the throne. I'd like to know where he is.

I actually don't know much about him outside of a basic character card.

"Y-You freak [Celestial Cataclysm]" An elite angel uses sacred magic against me, and I, completely defying logic, grab something non-physical and redirect it as if it were nothing.

"Little Angel will have to do much better than that if you can't even scratch my armor, how do you plan to kill me?" I say mockingly as I appear in front of the angel, holding its wing to keep it from fleeing.

"L-Let me go, d-don't you know who I am? I...KYAAAAA" The angel screams in pain as I pull its wing, ripping it off and leaving it with only one.

"You're a girl, aren't you? Not trying to discriminate, but do you really think you should be on the battlefield?" I say, not discriminating against the angel's gender, but stating the obvious, since female angels tend to focus on barrier and healing techniques, not magical combat.

"P-Please let me live a-and I..."

"Shh, Little Angel, I hope you understand one thing we're at war, this is the battlefield, and deaths are natural. But you and your foolishness surprise me."

"Do you really think you could kill the enemy commander?" This foolish angel thought it could kill me alone.

"I don't think you understand what it means to be the Demon King." I grab the angel by the neck and start falling from the sky, aiming for the ground. The angel desperately tries to escape, but I accelerate, hitting the ground and brutally decapitating the angel, forming a small crater.

Its neck was shattered by the impact and my hand. I shake my hand, cleaning some of the blood that covers my armor, while looking up at the black sky, seeing the angels retreating for now.

"Seems they've decided to retreat. What cowards, they attack my territory and then retreat when I come to solve the problem myself." I'm tired, not physically physically I have magic and stamina to fight for several more months without even breaking a sweat.

I'm tired of this stupidity, angels trying to come kill me as if they could do such a thing. If it were at least the King or Queen of the Angels, I'd understand, since they are strong.

But sending mere angels, even if they're elite, is to underestimate what it means to be the Demon King. It seems the angels don't understand that [Demon King] is more than just a title.

Being the Demon King automatically gives a huge increase in power, along with several other benefits that are difficult to surpass.

Certain titles come with benefits, like the [Hero] title currently held by Grace D'Aragon, who is a heroine. This title is like a shield that protects her as long as she doesn't do anything extreme.

Just like her title, my title can be said to be one of the titles with the greatest sequence of benefits. Only a Demon King knows how truly powerful it is to have this title.

And that's why it's so annoying the others don't understand how powerful a Demon King is, and that's why they try to kill me using stupid tricks.

"I wonder who won that test I did." I have confidence in Esther, she's brilliant, much more than she shows to others, just as she is powerful, much more than she lets on.

She's a strong candidate for the throne, being one of the closest to achieving that position in the future, followed by Marie, who also has extremely high power.

Next is Lucien, the third strongest candidate for the throne. Among these 3, the next Demon King will likely emerge.

'Ah yes, there's also her...Evelyn...' Honestly, for a long time she was at the bottom of the barrel for me. I do have "love" for her since she is my daughter, but love alone is useless.

If she's a failure, she doesn't deserve my love that's how demons are. However, things have changed recently and she entered the competition in an interesting way.

"I wonder, would she really have a chance to win?" I don't have much hope in her, but if she manages to succeed, I'll be happy for her.

"Maybe...I should throw Evelyn into the battlefield." This seems like an interesting prospect. She doesn't know the terror of the battlefield.

She may not like me, but to a certain extent I've protected Evelyn so she wouldn't have to go through anything extreme. All the others have already participated in the war, with only Evelyn never having been forced to do so.

And that was my method of protecting her she was too weak, and if sent to the battlefield, she would have died, and I didn't want to see my daughter die, so I never demanded that of her.

But now she has shown her own path and strength, and with that, maybe it's a good experience to send her to the battlefield, so she can learn to kill, command, and make difficult decisions.

"Demon King, I bow to your grace to report an incident." A servant appears, bowing to me, briefly glancing at the angel's body on the ground, then looking at me.

"Speak." I say with authority, adjusting my armor.

"The damage to our troops...exceeded 40%." As soon as he says that, I click my tongue.

'Those angelic vermin are really getting on my nerves.' They're lucky, very lucky that my troops still don't have a proper means to invade their continent.

'That's why I need humans.' Humans are good builders, have a gigantic number of them, and can easily be bought if there's something valuable. A peace and alliance between demons and humans will give me the resources to finally invade the angelic continent.

"Hmm...go back and tell the members of each division that we'll have a meeting in two days." I need to return to the castle and finish some things before seeing each of them to decide what to do.

'Maybe...I should sell one of my daughters?' Political marriages are very useful it's literally a disguised sale as a marriage. I have three beautiful daughters who would easily attract many.

Even Evelyn, who has a reputation for being a failure, would be highly coveted for her beauty, and there's the factor of royal lineage. Many demons and humans would love to gain proximity to the Demon King's family.

'There are also the 3...Lucien, Augustus and Laplace. There are many girls who would love a marriage...and of course, there's that option...' Marriage between them.

It happens that there is a rule that can be broken if one of them marries the other. The rule is as follows: each candidate for the throne must never meet the family of one of the progenitors.

This means that my children can only know me as family, but they must never know the person I impregnated and their family. This rule is made to prevent inequality.

Since some of the women I impregnated were from ridiculously influential families, while others were from smaller families, and this would create a disadvantage for some and an advantage for others.

But if one of them marries another, this rule can be annulled because both families need to appear due to tradition and rules among the nobility.

'Yes...a marriage between them would also solve this...' I have some good options here. I can sell one of my children in a political marriage, or force one of them to marry another.

"Well...I'll decide that later." For now, this will be left for future plans, after all, even these plans have their flaws.

A political marriage means sharing power with another family. If it's with a demon, it's still acceptable, but a political marriage with a human would be full of annoying bureaucracies.

And of course, a marriage between them has the problem that the families will appear, and that means that since they are known, the power of these families will naturally increase, as they were once partners of the Demon King.

"Politics is so annoying, I can't wait to retire and enjoy my life away from this irritating place." I murmur as I start flying back to the castle.

I can't wait for one of my sons to take my position, so I can disappear from here and throw all the responsibility onto the new Demon King.

It may be cold-hearted of me to throw all my work onto a novice, but I don't care. They're the ones who want to fight for the throne...although I didn't really give them a choice, since the rules force them to fight for the throne, but still, they're the ones who have to be ready to inherit the position.
