The Smiling Death

Chapter 177: Strong Foe (2)

"Ha… we're not done…"

The masked man dusted off his shoulder. Then lifted his sword again.

As if saying:

Come. Continue.

A huge aura started to radiate from his body.

[Terra Burst]

Amon frowned.

The ground cracked beneath them. A torrent of rocks and soil blasted upward. The trio somehow dodged it by jumping high.

"Was he holding back…?"

Arnold's eyes narrowed. The masked man shifted his sword. And with his thumb, flicked something on the hilt.

Click.

A faint ripple spread.

Aisha's eyes widened.

"That… wasn't him fighting seriously?!"

Dark aura leaked from the blade.

Cold. Heavy. Terrifying.

Amon swallowed hard. He knew at this point.

'Shit… he's a Master Rank. And he's not like Hector. He's actually a lot stronger than him.'

Arnold tightened his grip.

"Get ready!!"

The masked man pointed his sword at them. And in that moment. The world seemed to sink into silence.

He disappeared again.

Amon barely blinked.

And the masked man vanished.

Not teleported.

Just moved so fast he looked like he had disappeared.

Aisha screamed.

"Amon!! Left—!!"

Amon turned.

Too slow.

The masked sword was already swinging toward his throat. Amon's pupils shrank. He raised his arm on instinct.

And something silver-white flashed between them. Something fast and beautiful.

CLAAAAANG!!!

Amon stumbled back.

"What—?!"

The masked man skidded backward.

Amon blinked. Arnold had blocked the strike with his sword.

"Thanks man. I appreciate the help hah." Despite being tired and in direction situation. Amon didn't forget to thank him.

Arnold didn't replied just nodded.

In front of them. Before the masked man could move, numerous small silver sparks appeared surrounding him. They looked like stars. Shining and blinking. Like a small milky way appearing. The number was uncountable.

Arnold's eyes glowed silver bright. It was his ability. Though using this would strain his body, they didn't have a choice. To survive, they needed dangerous attacks.

The hooded figure observed it with cold, calculating eyes. He felt danger from it. He tried to run.

But it was too late.

All those small star-like particles shot at him as if they were shooting stars. They were fast. They were explosive.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Countless stars struck him and exploded. The ground shattered. Smoke and dust spread around them. The sight in front of Amon and Arnold was covered with smoke.

"Did we get him?" Amon muttered. Though he still think this won't be enough to defeat their enemy.

Arnold tensed. His gripped tightened.

Aisha walked and stood beside them. "I think… we didn't."

The smoke subsided.

There in the broken ground was a small dome of rocks and stone. The surface was cracked by Arnold's attack.

"Shit, that's one hell of a strong defense spell," Amon cursed his luck for facing such a strong opponent.

Crack! Crack!

The dome cracked more and broke apart.

Inside it, the assassin was still standing. Though there were some wounds on him now.

"At least he's injured… a little," Arnold muttered with a small chuckle.

Amon shook his head, holding his sword tightly. Shadow wrapped around the blade. Why they have to fight such opponent? Why this Fuck want to kill them?

Amon don't remember doing anything bad to this secret organization. How can he even do anything? He was a peace loving man.

"Hah.." He exhaled.

"Fuck! I'm really annoyed. Let's kill him. I won't fight safe anymore." He had enough if this shitt.

Arnold and Aisha looked at him in surprise.

Even the masked man studied him.

"Tch. Kids these days are full of themselves. Thinking killing me will be that easy." He can't help but replied to Amon's declaration.

It was amusing for him to watch some kids spouting nonsense about killing him. Though one of them – no two of them were really dangerous.

He could guess why his boss asked to kill this two young students. Those two were posses unbelievable talent and powers. They are not suppose to grow like this...or the world might see another two Alistair Luminous.

"Let's do it. I won't lie… I'm really irritated now as well," Arnold agreed with Amon.

"Yeah. I was ready from the start," Aisha said with a huge grin.

The man observed silently and then disappeared again.

Amon already raised his hand and swung his sword with all his might, mana strengthening his muscles.

CLANG!

As Amon predicted, the man actually attacked him first.

"Aaargh!" But Amon was not someone who could handle this much force like Arnold.

'Okay, let's try it again. Just like before.'

But at least this was enough.

He was pushed back instantly.

But before that, the shadow covering his blade shot forward.

The cool, liquid, smoky kind of shadow moved from Amon's blade to the enemy's blade. Fast. Quick.

The assassin's eyes widened. "What's this?!"

He tried to shake it off his blade, but the shadow was already on his arm, then moved to his face. "Shitt!"

His face became covered with shadow. His eyes blinded.

Amon smirked.

Aisha and Arnold were already there.

Aisha's mana-strengthened gauntlet shot forward with full power.

The enemy sensed it and dodged, but at the same time, Arnold's sword swung from the other side.

The blade shining with silver starlight.

Slash!

Splash!

Finally, they had landed a direct hit.

Blood flew through the air.

"Aaahh!" The man screamed in pain for the first time.

Amon didn't want to let go of this chance. He kicked off the ground and dashed again.

His dark eyes met Arnold's. Arnold instantly understood what he was asking.

Arnold, who was close to the enemy, grabbed his left hand tightly.

"What the heck are you doing?" the enemy questioned in anger. His eyes were still covered.

'Tch! Only if my shadow had covered his whole face and made it hard for him to breathe. Tch!' Amon thought dejectedly.

He already got close to the man.

The assassin, who was trying to attack Arnold with his free hand holding the sword, was grabbed by Amon. He was locked by both boys.

'Shitt! Why is this guy so strong!'

Even though Amon and Arnold were trying their best to hold him down, it was damn hard.

Aisha was preparing her lightning spell. Lightning Spear.

"You think this can hold me off?" the man asked with a wicked smirk hidden behind his mask.

SWISSS!

But he didn't know that something was flying from his backside.

"Is that so?" Amon replied with a smile.

The hatchet came back toward them, spinning.

Slash!
