Forsaken Starfall

CHAPTER 137 -

Fyar stood motionless in the middle of the white sand expanse reflecting the purple light from the sky. The desert night wind blew the hem of his clothes. In front of him, two crystal-scaled monsters ran fast. Their claws gripped the sand and left deep hole tracks.

I have gained new knowledge about neutralize now. My physique is fast and there is a new skill. I should be fine. Fyar muttered inwardly.

Their distance was getting closer. The sound of the monsters' growls was heard clearly. Fyar did not shift even a bit. His eyes focused on following the target's movement.

"Arean," Fyar murmured softly.

Instantly a thin transparent dome appeared covering a five-meter radius around Fyar's body. The air inside that circle vibrated softly. Dust particles floating inside it stopped moving.

The three monsters entered the range.

"Neutralize."

The blue light shining between the monsters' scales suddenly dimmed. Their originally savage movements became heavy and slow. The monsters' leg muscles looked tense and stiff as if held back by a heavy weight.

Now!

Fyar darted forward. His right hand moved fast to his left waist.

Sring.

The sound of metal friction was heard sharply when a long Katana was pulled from its sheath. The metal blade reflected the Aurora light from the sky.

Fyar ducked low avoiding the first monster's slow scratch, then swung his Katana upward with full power. The sharp blade tore the monster's soft stomach part. Thick blue liquid sprayed out wetting the white sand and Fyar's sword blade.

Without stopping, Fyar twisted his body to the side. His left hand already gripped a pistol and aimed straight at the second monster's face.

Bang.

One shot popped. The bullet penetrated right in the middle of that monster's eyeball. The creature's head jerked back. Blood mixed with clear slime spurted from its eye socket.

Suddenly a whizzing sound was heard from the left direction.

Fyar immediately jumped back. He rolled fast and took cover behind a giant crystal pillar protruding from the ground.

Clang. Clang. Clang.

A barrage of sharp crystals struck where Fyar stood earlier. Ice shards and sand scattered.

As I guessed my body feels lighter now. Going up almost ten levels is indeed not a joke. Fyar muttered inwardly.

Fyar leaned his back against the cold crystal wall. He wiped the blue liquid stain on his Katana blade. His breath was regular. In the distance, the third monster was seen reloading crystal thorns on its back for the next attack.

Above, Hasya watched with his body leaning forward. His eyes widened and his hands gripped the edge of the silver owl's saddle.

What kind of power is that. Can he really neutralize anything? And also what happened to him? It is like something happened to him. Hasya muttered inwardly.

Beside him, Cyhas looked amazed. Her hands cupped in front of her chest and her eyes did not shift from Fyar's figure down there.

"Fyar..." Cyhas murmured softly.

"He is strong right, Cyhas," Hasya started the conversation. He turned his head slightly with raised eyebrows.

"Honestly I have never seen power like that. And I understand why he tried to lie to me about his sub class."

Hasya's smile disappeared. His eyes stared at Fyar's back with a different sharp gaze.

This kid is dangerous.

If 'they' know Fyar has the ability to neutralize magic, he will be hunted. Dissected. His power taken.

Hasya rested his chin on his hand, a thin smile slowly carved back, this time colder.

But if I polish him correctly...

Fathir... I might have just found a mad dog that can rip your neck. He muttered inwardly while crossing arms on chest.

In another sector of that desert.

"Come on BITCH come on come on!!!" Rasie shouted with a face full of spirit. Her eyes bulged wide toward the monster in front of her.

The girl gripped her greatsword handle tightly. Her arm muscles tensed and bulged.

"Fire!" Rasie exclaimed loudly.

Bright red fire instantly wrapped her whole body and sword blade. The white sand under her feet turned scorched black. The air around her expanded and waved because of high temperature.

The monster in front of her roared. The creature lunged forward and slashed its claw coated in thick ice. Rasie swung her fire sword welcoming that attack.

A hard collision happened.

Rasie's fire devoured the ice layer on that monster's claw until it melted and evaporated. Thick white smoke billowed blocking the view.

Rasie utilized that moment. She bent her knees and jumped high into the air. Her body position was right above the monster's head. Her fire sword lifted high behind her head.

The monster looked up. Its back shone dazzlingly bright. A clump of crystal bullets glided fast toward Rasie who was floating.

Rasie's eyes widened in focus. She twisted her body in the air to dodge. The crystal bullet missed thinly and only scratched the tip of her red hair a little.

Rasie landed with a hard thud on the monster's right side, then immediately lunged forward again. Burning footprints were left on the sand. She stabbed the tip of her sword straight forward.

The burning blade penetrated right into the monster's left eye. The hissing sound of burning flesh was heard loudly. The smell of scorched meat instantly pierced the nose.

Rasie pulled her sword roughly. She jumped back away to keep a safe distance.

....

The monster stood stiffly in front of Illya. Its pair of bright blue eyes shone without blinking. The purple aurora light from the night sky reflected on the surface of the sharp crystal scales all over its body.

Illya stood about five meters from the creature. She took a long breath. Her lips moved, chanting a spell in a low voice. Instantly, both of her hands were enveloped in a glowing green aura.

The monster lowered its body. White sand scattered as the creature dashed fast toward Illya.

Illya did not move at all. She waited until the monster's snout was only a few centimeters in front of her face. When the distance was very close, Illya jerked her hands upward.

The ground beneath the monster vibrated. A pointed spear made of earth and hard sand shot up with high speed. Its sharp tip pierced the monster's belly directly and came out through its back.

Whoosh.

Illya's body vanished instantly.

Illya reappeared on the left side of the monster. Her right hand was raised high to the sky. In the air, a wind vortex gathered and solidified, forming a long spear that was transparent yet sharp.

Illya lowered her arm quickly.

The wind spear glided heavily, splitting the air. The whistling sound of wind was heard clearly before the weapon struck the body of the monster that was still impaled.

Warm blue liquid sprayed out. The monster's blood drenched Illya's face and clothes. A thick, fishy smell was immediately felt.

The monster roared loudly in pain. While twisting its heavy body, the crystal spines on its back stood upright and shone with a dazzling blue light.

Clang. Clang. Clang.

The monster jumped powerfully and managed to free itself from the earth spear. In the air, the monster fired dozens of sharp crystals toward Illya.

Whoosh.

Illya moved her body again before the crystals touched her skin. The crystal spikes fell and hit the stretch of sand that was now empty.
