Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 182: Invaders

After the orc entered through the crack, an army of orcs followed after him. After them came out more of the short grey skinned people.

These people were from a race called the Xnodals, Xnodals were a physically weak race but had incredibly powerful mental energy.

Because of that they were very skilled in professions like alchemy and formations. However they weren't very good at combat.

Because of that, their race was easily conquered by the orcs. Fortunately, although the orcs were physically powerful, they had weak mental strength.

That made them terrible at the secondary professions so the Xnodals were quite valued by their masters.

Even more so than races like the Aqvols which were basically miners and war slaves. After an army of a thousand orcs, each no weaker than rank 3 came across.

One of the orcs brought their leader a massive chair. He sat down and looked around.

" This mist will keep us hidden for now." He waved his hand gently through the air. " This is a weak world, it laws are young, they will not pose much of a threat to us.

It's unfortunate the limit of it power is merely the projection realm, otherwise he could've brought a single manifestation realm lord and conquer it in a single day.

Well no matter, I will be enough." The orc said with pride. He turned to look at one of the Xnodals, the oldest looking of them.

This was the only rank 4 Xnodal around, infact although their world was matured and could even support sovereigns.

The strongest expert their race has ever managed to produce in the last five hundred thousand years was a manifestation realm( rank 6), their current king.

So it could be imagined that a rank 4 was quite a high valued member of their race yet he was acting as nothing more than a servant.

The Xnodal was discontent but there was nothing he could do, he was too weak to change anything.

He bowed to orc but said nothing. The orc's deep voice boomed in his ears. " As by the orders of the lord. You are to go and open gates in other parts of this world.

Allowing our armies to invade from all directions. However limit the signal as much as you can, we do want those other leeches finding out about this huge piece of meat.",

The massive orc licked his lips. The Xnodal scoffed secretly. ' Ironic of you to talk about leeches, you useless lumb of muscle brain.'

He thought but outwardly he bowed to the orc with a flattering smile. " Understood my lord, it will be done." Mental energy covered his body, his subordinates followed suite.

This was a technique that allowed them to be invisible, of course it couldn't hide them from those with a stronger soul sense than his.

However he doubted anybody in such a young world would be that strong. He bet the strongest person was merely a rank 3, perhaps a few of them if they're talented.

If he knew of the waves, his thoughts would be different. The Xnodals spread out in every direction.

However what nobody noticed was a metapede hidden beneath the pool of lava. If the orc wasn't so confident in his own strength and used soul sense to check the area, he would've noticed it.

Although the metapede wasn't technically a spiritual beast, they were one of the smartest demonic beasts in existence.

It knew these strangers were bad, their scents differed from that of this world. However it also understood it was weaker than them.

So it sunk even deeper, it planted ore was growing rapidly under the effect of the pure lava. It wouldn't be long before it grows into the next rank.

Until then, it was going to spare their lives and bide it time. Just like that, a few weeks passed.

The Xnodal leader reached the dunes of the Sahara. With him were two younger Xnodals.

He looked at his ring, there were barely five major teleportation talisman left. He had used 9 of them to get here.

It should be mentioned that a major teleportation talisman can take you over 20 000 kilometres.

I'm his world, four would've been enough to cover an entire continent but he had to use nine here, on top of running for a large portion of the distance.

However the most baffling thing was that he could feel that the this world was stretching. To be more precise, it felt like space was unfolding like a piece of paper.

" What a strange world." He muttered, as a scientist, this phenomenon was intriguing but unfortunately he didn't have time to study it.

After walking a few kilometres into the endless desert they stopped. In order to open a world gate, you had to find a weak point in the world barrier, that's why they couldn't open a gate just anywhere.

Right where they stood is where the space felt less solid. The barrier here was weak enough to punch a hole through and forcefully open a gate.

World gates were different from mere spatial cracks though they looked similar. World barriers were permanent and had a more severe limit on who can pass through.

Wheres the limit for passing through a spatial crack was if the space on the other side could support your power.

The three of them stood in a triangular formation. He looked at his two juniors and smiled.

" You know what to do "

" Yes sir"

" Yes sir"

All three drew an array below their feet, they stabbed long metallic poles on the sand. The poles were densely covered in arrays.

Then they started chanting, their mental energies poured into the poles like invisible waves.

The poles vibrated, the space between them bent and twisted. They continued, beads of sweat falling down their grey skin like rain.

The task was mentally draining even to the leader, not to mention the two weaker Xnodals.

As the three were doing their thing, they didn't notice the sand shifting around them. Wind picked up and blew the sand away.

Inside one of the pyramids, a couple was having steamy time when they suddenly stopped.

Wind blew sand through the window and the man took a deep breath. The woman looked at him, " What's wrong?" She asked with worry.

He looked at her with a grim face, " The sand whispers of invaders."
