Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 189: Faceoff (2)

Each army chose 5 people. The first fight started. Mfundo faced off against the orc. His spear danced in the air like a snake.

He was smaller and more agile but the orc's skin was too thick. Winds screamed everywhere his spear passed.

However he could only manage to leave shallow wounds on the orc which healed almost immediately.

Naledi sighed, she didn't have much hope to begin with but seeing the disparity between her soldiers and the orcs was demoralising.

She tried to send a will transmission to him but it was intercepted by the orc leader who gave her a warning look.

She frowned, she could only hope Mfundo figures it out himself. The fight continued but it didn't last much longer before he was defeated.

Cathra intervened and pulled him back just as the massive hammer was about to crush his skull.

The orc raised it hammer to the sky and roared in victory. He looked at the human army provocatively, the humans growled in anger obviously agitated by the provocation.

A second human came forward, it was a short petite woman with dark skin and long braids. She was wielding two short daggers and dressed light.

She was obviously the speed type, a bad matchup for the orc. The others shook their heads and tried to stop her.

However she continued. The orc grinned mockingly, not just because of her disadvantaged weapons but because she was a woman.

The orc race respected physical strength more than anything and their females although better at long ranged abilities and have higher mental strength are smaller and overall weaker in battle and therefore less respected.

In a fight, they are most likely to lose even with the advantage of long range attacks. So it was understandable why an orc would look down on her for that, considering she was even smaller and looked weaker.

Her expression didn't change, because of her small statue she had always been underestimated, it wasn't anything new to her.

She held both her daggers in a reverse grip and took a deep breath. The orc waved his hammer creating massive winds around himself.

" Body Art: Iron..." Before he could finish activating his technique, she attacked. " Shadow Art: Hidden Step"

Her body was covered in shadows and she disappeared. Of course those above rank 3 could still see her.

Although her speed was blindingly fast to others and her stealth made it impossible for them to see her.

To people an entire rank above her, she might as well have been moving as fast as a snail while carrying a flashlight.

Naledi smiled."Impressive." She whispered. She always made the effort to keep track of promising people but she somehow didn't know about this girl.

She made a promise to check her out later. The woman appeared behind the orc and sheathed her daggers.

Suddenly two thin lines appeared on the orc's neck. He didn't panic at first expecting the wounds to heal on their own but that did not happen.

Instead he found the wounds were surrounded by thin shadowy lines that prevented them from closing.

Blood fell down his neck creating a red pool on the snow below. Naledi and the other humans had expected the orcs to help but instead, they watched one of their own bleed to death.

Instead of feeling pity or sadness, they looked at him with disdain. Losing to a woman of the sake rank, especially from a race physically weaker was the greatest disgrace to orcs.

She didn't leave, this is how the battles went. You fought until you were defeated. Currently the score was 1:1.

Soon another orc came forward. He introduced himself, she didn't respond. Since coming forward, she had never said a single word.

Her two daggers were coated by shadows. The orc wielded a massive spear, when he waved it, it sent massive winds to her face.

She frowned, realising this was going to be harder. Unlike the last orc, this one was less muscular but taller.

He was both strong and fast. She lunged at him turning into a shadow. She jumped into the air while still hidden by stealth.

Her daggers stabbed towards the orc's neck, just as they were about to land. The orc grinned and looked directly at her.

She was taken by surprise but continued trying to stab him. He shifted his leg slightly, bent backwards and placed his spear diagonally.

It butt managed to block her daggers. She felt the force of the collision travel through her thin arms.

Realising things were bad she tried to jump back but it was too late. She was too close for him to stab her.

So he rammed the butt of his spear on her chest. She felt air leave her lungs and she flew back to her army like a speeding bullet coughing up blood.

Cathra caught her and healed her wounds. She had lost, the score was down to 2:1 and the humans were losing.

Naledi had expected this, what she wanted was for them to waste as much time as possible to allow the others to retreat.

A few seconds later another human came forward. It was a man wearing heavy make-up with a red heart tattoo on his cheek.

The man was dressed in very short woman's pants and a white tank top. His member was very visible through the tight pants.

Naledi's mouth twitched, she knew this shameless pervet, after all he has been hitting on Cat for years now.

" Oh my oh my, dear, what a long sharp and hard rod you have, how sexy." He said in a deep voice laced with a feminine tone that made everybody's skin crawl.

" Now allow me to show you my wooden rod." He pulled out a green wooden spear with a leaf near it spearhead.

The spear had vines intertwining around it shaft. He turned to look at Cat and winked, she shivered and hid behind Naledi.

Naledi didn't like this man either, he made her skin crawl, he was into some really weird things.

She once saw him covered in scorpions because their venom makes him high, he was arrested for torturing himself and moaning while doing it. However she had to acknowledge his strength.

The only reason he was still a rank 3 was by choice, he wanted to purify his essence energy to match the purity level of a legendary grade like his goddess Catheliya.

But he only had a sky grade vessel yet his cultivation speed was still this fast which was a testament to his talent.

Had he not been obsessed with something that slows down his cultivation, he would've been the captain of the army.

The soldiers were so happy when they found out it wasn't going to be him, they threw a party.

Back to the orc, the orc looked at him with unhidden disgust in his eyes. " You..what? What are you?" The confusion in his voice couldn't be mistaken.

The man made an exaggerated pose. " You darling, can call me Mr Sugar or Candypie, whatever suits your taste." The orc's body shivered.

The orc leader Ogaba looked at her questioningly, she closed her eyes from embarrassment.
