Ved saw Vermilion about to attack Angelica then he saw Goldi. The rage inside him blazed as high as the heavens.

He roared, the sky shook as the sound wave spread out through the air like visible waves. He flapped his wings and increased his speed.

He appeared Infront of Vermilion like a massive black hill and punched. His massive fist shook the air and headed for Vermilion like a falling sky.

His body was even smaller than Ved's smallest finger. Vermilion couldn't take such an attack head on.

Strong as he was he knew very well he couldn't match Ved in physical strength. He raised his finger and fired the fire beam at the fist then flew back.

The beam of fire did nothing against Ved's scales. Ved looked down at Angelica then at Goldi.

He saw the man who appeared to be the one controlling Goldi's corpse. The desire to kill him grew to overwhelming proportions.

He opened his mouth and was about to shoot a nuclear blast to incinerate the man when he was forced to confront a massive fireball.

" Your opponent is me little dragon." Vermilion's annoying voice reached his ears. Ved growled.

" I thought you were dead, pity." Ved's deep voice cut through the air. Vermilion giggled, " I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm not that easy to kill."

" Let find out." He lunged at Vermilion faster than lightning. Angelica and the others couldn't even follow his movements.

Vermilion dodged his fist but just as he did he saw a massive tail heading his way. He would not be fast enough to dodge this one and he knew it.

He conjured a shield of fire to block the tail but it shattered like an egg. The tail hit him and sent him flying tens of kilometres away.

He crashed on the ground causing it to shake like there was an earthquake. He flew back up a moment later with barely any wounds.

His shield had managed to disperse a lot of the tails power. " You've grown stronger." He said as he wiped the blood on his mouth.

" You have no idea." Ved answered then fired a barrage of nuclear blasts. They exploded filling the sky with blue flames.

Vermilion came out of the could of fire unharmed and flew up above the clouds. Ved chased after him and they stopped a thousand kilometres above.

To tell the truth, as a dragon, at full power Ved would be as strong as Vermilion even though he was an entire grade below him.

That was the difference between races that Ved did not understand before becoming a true dragon himself.

Infact he was also certain that Linglong was stronger than Vermilion. If her bloodline matched the grade of his Vessel, there would not even be a fight between them.

By his estimate she was probably the second strongest being on earth after Naledi, he was not certain how strong the golden monk was but he appeared to be powerful himself.

" Why do we still do this?" He was brought out of this thought by Vermilion. He looked at him with confusion.

" You can't defeat me and it seems I can't permanently kill you so why carry on this charade?"

Ved laughed. " I can't defeat you? That's not for you to decide." Lightning exploded around his wings and he flew at Vermilion.

Vermilion was caught off guard by the bust of speed. He created thousands of flaming weapons to intercept Ved.

However the massive dragon rammed through all of them and reached him in a split second.

He slashed his claws at him, the wind screamed as the claws cut through it. Vermilion managed to tilt his body and fly between Ved's fingers.

However he underestimated the dragon. Ved clasped his fingers together but just as they were about to crush Vermilion he exploded into flames and reappeared a few hundred metres away.

' That's new.' Ved thought. Vermilion frowned. " It seemed I underestimated you." Ved didn't bother to reply but it was true.

Disregarding his upgraded bloodline, just his body alone was different. Unlike before, it was leaner and easier to control.

He could replicate human movements much easier and in some cases even better than humans.

He can stand on hind legs almost as comfortably as on all fours and his fingers can easily grasp things.

Speaking of which, he created a hundred metres long white sword, almost twice his size.

Vermilion used a technique Ved remembered but it appeared much stronger now which made sense.

Flames gathered and condensed around him creating armour. The armour had a golden sheen to it.

It didn't radiate heat in the slightest, if he didn't know better he would've believed it was a red metal armour mixed with little gold.

The moment he donned this armour his aura grew stronger. The surrounding temperature dropped as the armour absorbed it strengthening him.

Flames condensed around his fan but instead of forming a melee weapon they grew into a larger fan of fire.

Ved lunged at him with his sword, Vermilion waved his fan at him. A wave of fire covered the sky turning the world red.

They flew at Ved like a flood, the flames moved erratically and covered a wide range. He had no means to dodge.

He tried to cut through them with his wax sword but it melted in a split second. He frowned.

' These flames are hotter than I remember.' they started effecting him and burning his blood.

He gritted his teeth and retreat but there were too many flames. The entire sky for tens of thousands of kilometres was covered by them.

Ved immediately coated his body with the gel poison which cooled his body a little but it was not enough.

The worst part was that within the sea of flames were creatures of fire that occasionally attacked him.

And he found it hard to dodge or block them as they could appear anywhere including right next to him.

He tried to think of a solution and the only thing coming to mind was blasting the flames with as much lightning and nuclear energy as possible.

Just as he was about to carry out his plan the flames disappeared. " You seem to have brought a lot of friends." Vermilion said mockingly.

Ved turned and saw massive armies flying towards them. ' Shit.'
