The leeches were quite tenacious, he tried using his will to stop them to no avail. He used his martial intent inside him.
However it wasn't powerful enough, the leeches bit through the martial intent like it was a piece of paper.
Realising he couldn't stop them so easily he did something drastic. His spikes lit up, nuclear energy coursed through his veins like blood.
Then he detonated it, not enough to cause him much damage but his internals were not as durable as his outer layer.
He gritted his teeth through the pain but he managed to kill off the leeches at the cost of throwing up blood. He shook off the fox biting his neck.
It took off a piece of him, his blood turned the entire inside of the cocoon red. Before he could react he was slapped by a massive paw.
His scales cracked, ice spikes appeared and pierced his body. He felt his internals freezing.
His blood flow slowed down to a halt, even this thought slowed down. More golden light poured into him.
However no matter how stronger he got he couldn't break the ice spikes. The child of winter floated Infront of him.
" You should've surrendered, it would've been less painful." Ved glared at him with his golden eyes.
Green lightning flickered on his horns. The herald's eyes opened wide with surprise and fear.
" How is this possible? How do you have this?" Ved grinned. The lightning shot out like a spear.
It pierced through the fox's head, the ice spikes shattered freeing his body. The herald roared with rage and fear.
The bringer of doom suddenly appeared and attacked him. She grabbed the child of winter and teleported out of the lake.
Ved flew out following them. " You you, how is this possible, this shouldn't be possible." The child of winter kept repeating the same thing.
Their faces were grim. " Why didn't I think of this?" Ved heard Manas. ' Good to hear your voice, do you have any ideas.'
" Of course, it's so obvious, beings of the void are the enemies of heaven, any abilities with the hint of heavenly aura should be effective against them.
Lightning for one is known as the law of heaven but you have more than that, you have literal heavenly lightning, no wonder he's so scared."
Suddenly they started laughing, both of them. " This is good, after I take over your body I can present the law of heaven to my lord."
Ved growled. " I'll like to see you try." He and Naledi attacked at the same time. He coated his body with lightning.
Unfortunately he couldn't use the second order extinguishing tribulation lightning as he had very little of it.
However using the first order extinguishing tribulation lightning was not an issue as long as he only used it on his hands, it could last him a while.
He ignored the bringer of doom as even with lightning, his attacks were less effective on her than they were at the child of winter.
Countless insects and an army of undead tried to block their was but Naledi easily dispatched them.
He followed behind her and in her path she only left frozen statues that shattered a moment later.
The two Incarnations of the herald of plagues reacted, realising they couldn't stop the beautiful monster they tried to retract.
However Naledi's sword was suddenly covered in a blue aura which extended to the rest of her body.
She had activated her soul force, her speed increased manifold. She turned into a blur and before anybody could react she appeared between the two Incarnations.
They tried to jump away, she outstretched her hands to both sides and tapped them. In a blink of an eye they turned into ice statues.
Ved appeared right next to her. " Did you kill them?" He asked. She shook her head " No I merely froze their bodies outer layer and their thought process."
She didn't elaborate nor did he ask. " Let get to it." She said. He placed both hand on them then closed his eyes.
"I'm going to need you to deal with that ice inside him." She nodded and placed her hand on the child of winter.
He felt her absorbing the coldness out of his heart, literally. The child of winter's heart was frozen solid.
The bringer of doom on the other hand had no heart. The moment Ved realised that he couldn't help but sigh.
Even if he removed the dark particles out of her, she won't survive this. ' Will you let her die little dragon, will you kill her to fulfil your goals?'
He heard the taunting voice of the herald of plagues. ' Kill her? You've already done that and even if you didn't, I would kill her a thousand times over to protect myself or those I care for.'
He wasn't sure if the herald heard him but he still sent a will transmission to the bringer of doom's head.
He started absorbing the dark particles out of them. He directed all of those dark particles to one of his hearts.
The heart started turning black, Ved blocked it from pumping blood lest it infect the rest of his body as well.
He deactivated his ignition immediately after, he felt weaker but his hearts were no longer under any strain.
The more dark particles he absorbed the weaker the two Incarnations got. The herald was still taunting him trying to get to his head.
Trying to make him feel guilty for apparently killing the two Incarnations even though he was the one who killed them.
Disregarding the fact that Ved had no issues with killing, trying to make him guilty for people the herald killed himself was ridiculous.
Instead of guilt he just felt pissed at the herald's stupidity. However before he absorbed the last of it he stopped.
He turned and looked at Naledi. He knew unlike him she genuinely cared about saving their lives.
She looked at him and smiled softly but he could see the sadness in her eyes. " You knew." He whispered.
She nodded. " I promised to save him, I will do just that." Ved shook his head, she was right.
This was saving them from their misery. ' I'm sorry.' he absorbed the last of the dark particles and watched their eyes lose their lights.
