Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 90: Spacial Barrier

What excited him even more was that he was finally going to regenerate his arm. Although he had learnt to function without it he still very much missed it.

It didn't take long for the trait to be absorbed, then he closed his eyes and waited. He expected to feel an itch as his arm regenerated but no itch came. ' Does it regenerate so fast I can't even feel the itch.'

He wondered then opened his eyes and his greatest fear was staring directly at him. The arm was not regenerating at all. ' What's happening?'

He couldn't understand what was happening at all. ' Status.'

'The trait is there so what's the hell is happening? Why isn't my arm regenerating? Could it be.' A possibility struck him, what if the trait perceived his current state as the normal one.

It made sense, after all when he absorbed it he didn't have an arm so his current body was the natural one to it.

That thought shattered all of his hopes. That meant he would have to wait until his next evolution to regenerate his arm, if he would even be able to.

' How long is that going to take?' it would've been better if he didn't think about it but after getting a glimpse of hope, waiting sounded like it will be hard.

He tried his best to dismiss those depressing thought. He made a promise, no more slacking. He was going to dedicate all of his time to hunting.

Unlike before, he was going to actively look for and hunt high rank creatures, but not too high lest he put himself in danger but high enough.

After making his decision, he moved. His body cut through the water like a torpedo. There was no time for leisurely swims.

However he then face another problem. His senses were severely limited in this ocean. Not only his sight, all of them including smell, hearing and even soul sense.

He could barely see 30 metres away and could smell essence or sense other auras from atleast a hundred metres away.

But this meant hunting was going to be hard for him, the things living here seemed to be doing just fine so they saw and sensed him before he sensed them allowing them to easily avoid him.

So he sealed his aura, while this did bring a few prey to him who thought he was the prey, it was still only a few, not enough to satisfy him.

Then the vessel spirit taught him something new. A way to manipulate his aura to appear not only less threatening but also as an easy prey.

This was a technique invented by it holder Gold to appear submissive to demonic beasts in order to lower their guard before killing them.

Ved's expression was priceless, the vessel spirit made it sound like a powerful ability of heroes but wasn't this something only a cunning, sneaky coward would come up with?

Ved's bloodline disdained using such a sneaky and cowardly method. Fortunately he was using it as bait instead of sneak attacks so it was barely within what his pride could allow as long as he released his true aura before the battle began.

But he had to admit, the ability worked wonders. A few hours after he tried it, he was attacked by a rank 3 anglerfish, which was a surprise because anglerfish live in very deep and dark regions of the sea.

He didn't think he was that deep, it didn't take long for him to end it life but he had to admit, it was very strong for something of it rank and grade.

It body was ridiculously huge and it teeth could bite through anything. He was almost certain they could pierce through his scales so he avoided them like a plague.

He continued using this method of fishing. He made sure his aura could only attract creatures from rank 2 and above, he didn't want to kill rank 1 fish.

Mostly because they gave him very little points, he would have to kill way too many of them to even make a dent on his evolution points.

And that was certain to have a huge negative impact on the ecosystem. And just like that three years passed.

During these three years Ved had hunted almost none stop. Only stopping to sleep and then going back to it like he was possessed.

And because of that, his evolution points had grown significantly. He was very close to his next evolution now, infact the only reason it even took him so long is because hunting in this ocean was hard.

It depended on how many prey were willing to come to him, fortunately it was not a few.

' Status.'

Name: Ved Zhakrii

Species: Juvenile Sea Drake (25 years/ 2300 years) ( 14.3m/15m) Peak Sky grade

Rank: 3

Abilities(3/3): Traits assimilation, Soul force, Aspects integration

Traits(8/8): Poison secretion, Herculean strength (460x), Aquatic, Flash (340x), iron scale ( 30 000x), Web Secretion, Electric Discharge, Regeneration

Evolution points: ( 38.7/ 40)

He was close, he was very close to his next evolution and this excited him greatly but then came another problem.

He was yet to find an aspect worth integrating. Honestly he already knew which one he wanted but that type of prey didn't really hang around much on the sea.

He made a promise to himself that before evolving he will integrate that aspect. However he didn't even know how many aspects he could integrate per evolution so he asked the system.

( Answer: Host can integrate a maximum of three aspects per evolution. Note- Aspect should not completely alter every or most physical aspect of the host original body.

Aspect cannot replace already existing body aspects of host.) Three seemed like enough. Ved relaxed and continued swimming but then he collided with something.

But there was nothing infront of him. He outstretched his hand and it touched something but there was still nothing infront of him.

He swam up and surfaced above the ocean then outstretched his hand again and it was still there but he still saw nothing. Meaning it wasn't because of the ocean that he couldn't see whatever this was. ' What the hell is this?' he wondered.

Unbeknownst to him, thousands of kilometres away, two people were sitting on top of a mountain peak that stood hundreds of metres above the sea, watching him.

" Interesting." one of them said it a deep masculine voice.
