"Ho! Maybe? It was probably me." Smoke shrugged.

"Now that you've arrived, I can finally get rid of all of you at once including the rats outside."

The tired and bored look on Smoke's face vanished, replaced by a serious and menacing expression.

The aura around his body intensified, making everything tremble.

Initially, Alex intended to buy time until the three-star agent from the association arrived, but unfortunately for them, that was no longer possible, as he estimated that there wasn't much time left before his HP reached zero.

Everyone would have to give their all to guarantee their lives. It was Alex's first time fighting against a living biological weapon it was truly frustrating. His previous strike would have killed any ordinary hunter.

Alex looked at his HP and MP; both bars had decreased considerably, but thank God they were still above half. He decided to burn everything at once to have some chance.

"What's wrong? Are you trying to run away?" Smoke approached, seeing the thoughtful expression on Alex's face.

"Run away, me? You must be joking. Why would I run from someone as weak as you? I've witnessed the display of four true high-level hunters, and their aura alone was enough to make me tremble but yours feels like nothing more than a breeze to me."

Alex said with scorn.

He remembered the high-level hunters he had encountered before. The weakest among them was the Spider King one could say their battle ended in a draw, although Alex preferred to think he almost won.

Of course, Alex had only been able to fight the Spider King because it had just been born. If it had even one week, or at least two days after birth, Alex would never have been able to face the three-star Spider King.

The other high-level hunter Alex had witnessed was Félix. Even though his class wasn't that of a fighter, his creations alone could annihilate the Spider King, even if it were stronger now.

The third three-star hunter he faced was Tatiana. She was so strong that she could stop Alex from breathing if she wished he discovered that when he saw her fight against the Sword Saint.

And the strongest Alex had ever seen was the beautiful general with gorgeous eyes and pointed ears. Her aura alone was enough to disrupt his blood circulation.

And once again, Alex was forced to fight a high-level hunter. Even knowing that there were both strong and weak ones, as well as non-combat classes among them, a high-level hunter could never be underestimated.

"Really! How about I show you how vast the sky truly is?"

Smoke's voice echoed everywhere; his figure had vanished into the thick mist.

Alex's base Perception was 91 attribute points. Now that Excalibur was equipped, he had around 131 points in total.

He focused his attention to the maximum to locate his opponent. As expected, he detected him moving right behind him.

"Your Highness!"

The maid shouted more than three times before Lucia heard her name being called.

"Sorry, I was distracted."

"What is it? Why are you calling me?"

Lucia's eyes drifted away from the mirror she had been looking into just a second ago. No matter how much she looked at the figure in the reflection, it was still hard to believe that it was truly her.

"Your Highness, His Majesty the King awaits you."

Lucia looked at the personal maid who had been assigned to serve her. They were about the same age Lucia assumed that was the reason she had been chosen.

"Alright, you may take me to him."

"As you wish, please follow me."

Lucia followed the maid through the luxurious corridors, wondering what it would be like to live here with her family. It would be wonderful. She didn't enjoy so many privileges, but she had to admit they had their conveniences.

The long dress Lucia wore swept the floor as she walked. It was blue with white stripes. She had been told it was made from spider silk, hence its absurd resistance. She had tested that theory by trying to tear it unsuccessfully.

"Princess, we've arrived."

The maid stopped beside a door leading to a room Lucia hadn't seen before, though she had passed by it.

"Please, enter."

Lucia hesitantly stepped inside. As she did, a beautiful melody reached her ears. She froze in place, unable to move.

She didn't want to interrupt she decided to stay still, not daring to disturb the King, who played the piano softly before her. The melody touched her heart, washing away all negative thoughts from her mind.

Lucia enjoyed the symphony with delight. She had always wished to learn to play the piano. Besides medicine, her passion lay in playing it. She wasn't completely ignorant of the subject, but to play at such a level was something Lucia could never achieve.

She had always been fascinated by how the piano could guide the emotions of those who listened. That was why she loved it so much not merely for the dopamine, but because her emotions blossomed every time she heard the piano.

After a while, the King stopped playing. Lucia didn't even notice she had started clapping.

The King removed the blindfold from his eyes and gave a very polite bow.

"It gladdens my heart to know that my clumsy attempt to imitate Beethoven is appreciated."

Lucia didn't know what to say in the face of such a bow.

"I just learned how to play. I hope my sin isn't too great for producing such a musical noise."

Hearing the King's words, Lucia's eyes were drawn to a set of books resting on the table.

"Your Majesty plays very well. What you played wasn't noise the Symphony of Fate was beautifully performed."

"I am deeply grateful for the praise, Princess of Camelot."

The King gestured for the princess to join him at the table, which had been previously prepared for both royals.

"Your Majesty said you just learned to play the piano recently?" Lucia asked, skepticism showing in her expression.

"I devoted an entire day to learning the piano. It's quite a refined instrument, I must say. The books imported from the USA were rather explanatory," the King said, handing a book to Lucia.

"I apologize if my skepticism offends you, but it's hard to believe someone could learn to play the piano so well in just one day," Lucia said, glancing at the King's expression.

Unfortunately for her, the King always seemed to wear a composed, unchanging expression on his face.

"I don't feel offended, Princess. Being a three-star hunter allows you to do things that seem unbelievable to most people. Do you find it hard to believe?" the King said, forming a faint smile.

"Your Majesty learned to play the piano thanks to your star level?" Lucia asked curiously.

"Not exactly, but we could say yes."

"Tea or coffee?" the King asked.

"Tea, please."

The King stood and poured green tea for Lucia and himself. He smiled gently when he saw his guest savor the aroma rising from the cup.

"Caxinde tea quite aromatic, with a smooth and pleasant flavor. I tried several others before finally choosing this one for you, Princess," the King said as he resumed his seat.

Lucia frowned slightly; the King's voice sounded again in her ears.

"Please, try it and tell me if it's to your liking."

Lucia picked up the porcelain cup and tasted the tea. Her eyes widened she wasn't a tea lover, but this one in particular was quite pleasant to her palate.

"It's very good. I feel as if it's bubbling in my mouth, if Your Majesty allows me to say so." Lucia rested the emptied cup back on the saucer.

"It's commendable that your taste resembles mine. Please, try the cookies as well; I hope they also suit your preferences."

Lucia took one of the cookies and brought it to her mouth. They were crunchy, soft, and very flavorful. She then expressed her approval, to which the King seemed to smile.

"My servants have reported your restlessness and melancholy. Would you mind informing me about it?" the King asked, his face appearing serious.
