The Tears of a Princess

"Your Majesty, please proceed to the command room urgently."
Félix's voice sounded through Alex's intercom.
"Alright, I'm on my way," Alex said, lifting his hand to his ear as he stood up.
"I'll take my leave for now, Félix has requested my presence," Alex turned to John and Feliciana and said in an apologetic tone.
The three exchanged a few quick words before Alex left the room running.

"You finally arrived." Alex entered the command room and felt the heavy atmosphere that permeated the place.
Alex saw several different figures in the large control room that occupied a good portion of the space; some of the figures were familiar to him, but there were some he had never seen before.
Among the pairs of eyes that gazed at him were those of the beautiful general, whose eyes were unforgettable, Arnaldo the saint of the Sword, Félix, and Felícia, whom he had just met.
Among the unknown figures were 5 new ones. Before Alex could say anything, the general spoke to the screen.
"Alex is here, are you going to speak or not?" As always, the general's words carried no expression, but this time Alex could feel a certain hostility.
It seemed that everyone in the room shared the same hostility, including Félix, who normally had a playful and mischievous air.
Alex's eyes were drawn to the large screen.
"Your Majesty, the King of Camelot. Receive my extended greetings to your comrades."
Alex's eyes widened when he saw the figure on the other side of the screen that fake smile, the hair and white suit, that dignified posture and, most importantly, that voice.
"How are you still alive?"
Alex's eyes alternated between the figure on the screen and the Holy Sword, who shrugged in response.
"It is regrettable that the King of Camelot considered me dead even after witnessing what my anatomy was capable of."
"How did you survive my authority, Celestial Cut? I clearly aimed at your life force, and in this world there is nothing my authority cannot cut regardless of level."
It was not just Alex who paid attention to what Arnaldo said everyone was equally curious. If it was hard for Alex to believe someone survived the Celestial Cut, what could be said of the hunters who truly knew what the Holy Sword was capable of?
"Seeing that the King of Camelot shows a certain interest in this matter, I see no reason not to answer."
The king displayed on the large screen paused, adjusted his posture slightly, and continued speaking.
"Indeed, your authority is powerful, capable of transcending levels and cutting everything in its path, but fortunately for this king, your authority is incomplete sealed, I would dare say and, more importantly, I do not belong to this world."
The king's words made everyone's eyes widen in surprise. Of course, they all maintained their composure, not letting their inner shock show. Alex glanced at Arnaldo, who remained impassive like all the others.
"Sealed, you say? Where did you get such nonsense?" Félix said with a mischievous look in his eyes, accompanied by scorn.
The king merely snorted and said coldly.
"It is pointless to insult the dignity of a king with your rude question. For your information, I can see your true attribute window not the false one he is using now, but the real attribute window."
The king leaned back in his throne.
"That's enough. Let's move on to the main topic. What business do you have with my Hunter Association?" the general asked, taking a step forward and looking at the king seated on his throne through the screen.
"As I stated before, my business is not with the Hunter Association, but with the King of Camelot," the king said, shifting his gaze to Alex.
"Alex is an agent of my Hunter Association. Anything related to him is under my control."
Upon hearing the general's words, the king burst into laughter, making everyone in the room feel the tension intensify.
The king did not bother to give a second glance to anyone except Alex.
"King of Camelot, I recently had the privilege of enjoying the company of a beautiful princess. She is someone truly worthy of a king's time."
The king's black eyes were fixed on Alex.
"Found him," Félix said happily, looking at Alex and the general.
"Well done, Félix. Where is he?"
The king's image on the screen was reduced to a small square as most of the display shifted to a map.
"The transmission is coming from District B-13. He's using multiple VPN layers, bouncing his IP all around the globe, but even so, I can pinpoint his current location based on various collected data."
"Just from the transmission setup, I can determine through the video that the equipment being used is all top-tier only a few people in the country have access to such gear."
"Based on the color saturation, apparent humidity, and the reflection of the view in his eyes, I triangulated his position."
Félix explained and quickly demonstrated how he had determined the king's possible location.
The beautiful general turned to the five three-star hunters in the room and issued her orders.
"Head to the location Félix triangulated, take two high-level mages, and bring back that individual's head as quickly as possible."
The general's words sounded like winter ice even Alex shivered when she gave her command. The high-level hunters exchanged glances and left.
After the high-ranking hunters exited, the general also prepared to leave. She didn't want to put up with the insolence of a monster calling himself a king; she had more important things to do.
She scoffed inwardly whatever he had discovered about the peculiarity of the Holy Sword or Alex being a lucid being would become irrelevant once the monster's head was delivered to her.
As one of the highest authorities in the Hunter Association, this was not the first monster adopting a human form she had dealt with. However, the king's next words froze her in place.
"General, it's no wonder you lost a lucid being in a dungeon. You're sending three-star hunters without even assessing the degree of danger I represent."
The king smiled slightly before continuing.
"I shall enjoy the meal you've graciously sent my way, and as a form of gratitude, I'll share a small piece of information about my majesty."
The king paused dramatically, the camera focusing on his face, and said softly:
"It's not just royalty I have in common with the King of Camelot I am also a lucid being."
"You're bluffing," Arnaldo let the words slip out without even thinking. In this room, aside from Alex himself, who was also a lucid being, the Holy Sword was the one who had spent the most time with one.
"You're free to believe it if you wish," the king said, shrugging with elegance in his movements.
"A monster claiming to be a lucid being, how laughable," Felícia said, her eyes blinking as she tried to read something in the expression visible through the screen.
"Bring him in alive," the general said, lifting her slender fingers to her pointed ears and speaking into her intercom.
The general's eyes were fixed on the screen, staring at the king's figure, now once again projected to cover the entire display.
Apparently, the monster possessed highly confidential information about the Hunter Association. She intended to extract whatever the monster knew with her own hands.
"Why are you still so calm knowing that high-level agents are coming after you? Do you really think you'll be a match for our hunters?" Félix said, narrowing his gaze.
The king didn't answer. He looked at Alex again and asked a direct question.
"King of Camelot, the princess wishes to see you. Would you care to waste a little time to greet her?"
Hearing the question directed at him, Alex didn't know what to say. A princess? But despite the questions, he felt he should accept. He couldn't explain why, but it seemed like the best decision to make.
"Alright, you may bring her."
Everyone in the room looked oddly at Alex, who merely shrugged.
"Your Majesty, you wish to meet a princess? Aren't you afraid she might be a monster?"
Félix said jokingly. Alex simply ignored the looks he was getting and focused on the king, who was giving an order to a uniformed woman who seemed to be some kind of governess.
"King of Camelot, I am grateful for your willingness and time. After you exchange a few words with the princess, I want you to know that I have an agreement to establish with you the reason I reached out despite the risks involved."
With those words spoken, the king rose from his throne.
The camera shifted from the throne to another corner of the same room.
Wearing a beautiful tiara atop her lovely black hair, a graceful figure walked, her dress sweeping along the floor.
When Alex saw the figure on the screen, he nearly choked on his own saliva.
"Sister, is that you?"
The figure on the screen looked at Alex, her eyes overflowing with tears.
"It's clearly you…" the princess said, running her hands over her face and wiping away the tears that stained her beautiful features.
Everyone in the command room was equally stunned.
"Lúcia… sister, is it really you?"
