A woman's head rolled across the bloodstained floor, coming to a stop among dozens of others. The collection of severed heads stared blankly, eyes frozen in horror, despair, and unwillingness on their faces. The ground was a sea of crimson.
If Aron had been here, he would have recognized the woman. She was the one who had shown him where Mateo was kept. The other heads belonged to guards… and many unfamiliar faces.
"P-please… Please! Spare me, I don't know anything! I was just washing the toilets when..."
Chock
The desperate plea ended abruptly. Another head tumbled down, joining the growing mountain of heads.
The surviving slaves huddled in a corner, trembling and weeping.
"Please, please! I have a three-month-old chil.."
Chock.
Another head rolled across the floor.
--
Sitting calmly amid the carnage was a man in his thirties. A stark black O-shaped symbol was marked on his forehead. His combat clothes were torn, drenched in blood, and his chilling eyes were locked on the headless corpse before him.
Aron had killed his brother, severing his head and spinal cord. D-One never looked at the weeping captives. His entire focus was on the corpse.
Behind him stood two figures.
On his right was a beautiful woman in a combat suit. A scar crossed one of her eyes, enhancing her beauty while sharpening her dangerous aura. A square black symbol marked her wrist.
On his left was a brute of a man, muscles bulging across his entire frame. His face was so hideous a baby might die of fright just by looking at him. His shirt hung open at the chest, revealing an black eye-shaped symbol carved into his flesh.
After a long silence, the brute finally spoke.
"D-One, you should freshen up and rest. You're still injured from the expedition. Leave the rest to us," he said. His voice was calm and soothing, a stark contrast to his terrifying appearance.
D-One ignored him. His eyes remained fixed on his brother's corpse.
"Ana," D-One asked quietly, "do you think I was an unfilial brother?"
Ana shook her head. "No. You did your best. You gave him everything. Right, Levi?"
"Yes," Levi rumbled, nodding.
"My best, huh." D-One's lips curled mockingly.
"You know, he came to me. Said he wanted to follow me on the expedition. I refused. Even Told him harsh words to dissuade him. And now… he's dead. My little brother died because of me."
"It's not your fault," Ana began gently. "You don't have to blame your..."
She cut herself off when D-One raised a hand for silence. He continued to stare at the headless body.
At last, a trembling man approached, holding a rough portrait. He bowed, sweat dripping down his face. "This is the portrait… according to the description I was given," he stammered, sweat dripping from his forehead.
D-One took the drawing, his fingers curling tightly around it.
"Spare this one's life, for now. Behead everyone else without exception. Then burn the building down. Let it serve as a farewell tribute… to my brother."
He unfolded the portrait. A crude likeness of Aron stared back at him.
A chilling, murderous aura filled the room. D-One's killing intent seeped out, suffocating those around him.
"This bastard…" His voice shook with fury. "He took my only family. My brother. My joy. And, he thinks he can live peacefully while I still breathe? It won't happen. It will never happen."
Levi lowered his head, his voice solemn. "What do you want us to do, D-One? Say the word, and it shall be done."
D-One rose slowly, crushing the portrait in his hand. His voice was icy, each word dripping with venom.
"From this moment on, his life belongs to me. I'll make him beg for death. He will crawl… crawl into a hole seeking salvation, but he won't find any.
Because I, D-One, will follow him into the womb of his mother, into the depths of hell itself, if that's what it takes. And rip him out."
His voice grew harsher with each word.
"I'll kill his father.
Kill his mother.
Kill his grandfather.
Kill His grandmother.
Kill his children. Kill every last one of them."
He clenched his fists, trembling with rage.
"I'll kill his dog. His hen. Every living thing in his house. Not even an ant will be spared. I'll burn and bury their ashes, then wipe the landscape from the face of Solara."
D-One's eyes burned with madness.
"I'll make him suffer until he looks to the sky and begs God for mercy.
But even God knows He cannot save him from my grasp. I'll crush him. Crush all his bones. Scatter them on the floor, and then I'll dance on them.
I'll dance to my heart's content. I'll dance and dance.
He'll wish his mother never let his father fuck the fuck that brought him into this world!"
Ahhh!!!
The room was silent. So silent that even the guards who were beheading the slaves tried to quiet their breathing, terrified to draw D-ones attention or wrath towards them.
The once-bustling shelter was now a horror scene, Hundreds of severed heads littered the floor. The only survivor spared was the trembling artist, kept alive for his skill.
The remaining guards were those who had accompanied D-One on the expedition. Though lacking natural talent, they had increased their levels and possessed abnormal strength.
D-One knelt by his brother's body, carefully arranging the severed head onto the corpse. His voice shakey.
"Don't worry, brother. I will avenge you. Until then, let these worthless pieces of scum attend to you." His cold gaze swept over the heads scattered across the floor.
He stroked his brother's face one last time, then rose and strode out of the shelter with Ana and the guards.
Outside, he stood before the building, cold and motionless. Ana and the guards waited quietly behind him.
After a while, Levi emerged, pouring fuel over the shelter. When finished, he handed D-One a lighter, bowing silently.
Without hesitation, D-One lit it and tossed it into the shelter. Flames roared to life, consuming everything inside.
He stood in silence as the fire spread, his eyes reflecting the blaze. A single tear rolled down his cheek as the building, and his brother's pyre, burned to the ground.
I will make him suffer....
