Ethan's eyes fluttered open as he stretched out his palms.
Blue and white flames flickered gently, coalescing into a single light cyan blaze.
Though the color seemed unchanged, the merging of two fierce spiritual fires multiplied the power exponentially, their combined properties a brilliant synthesis of both elemental flames.
His heart quickened with anticipation. The effects of training with innate spiritual fire had already been extraordinary, but what wonders might be unlocked through original spiritual fire nourishment?
Yet Ethan held his resolve. He chose not to begin original spiritual fire body forging just yet. His current cultivation realm set practical limits on how much improvement was possible at this stage.
After he reached the Dharma Body realm, he would return to the spiritual fire, using it then to fortify his body far beyond the present.
Rising from his seat, Ethan stepped out into the chill evening air surrounding his residence.
The vastness of Echo Lake stretched before him, silent and empty beneath the darkening skies. Like an ancient sentinel, the lake bore only ripples of wind.
With practiced effort, Ethan sank to the lake's bed and opened a hidden spatial pocket. There, hidden away from prying eyes, he arrayed a formation to focus his energies, planting it firmly before settling down.
Here, in this secret refuge, he vowed to shatter his limits and ascend to the Dharma Body realm.
Three months passed—
Ethan's eyes snapped open.
Incredulity blurred the first moment. He had expected the Blood Pill's transformation to span years, yet only three months had passed. The secret lay in the power of the Profound Purifying Fire, its mysterious energy hastening the process beyond expectation.
"This originates from the original spiritual fire," Ethan acknowledged solemnly. "It has saved me at least three years."
His gaze sharpened. "Now the next step—condense the Dharma Body."
The concept crystallized in his mind—using the divine fire as foundation, blood pills as core, paired with his own insights forged through cultivation, to construct the indomitable Dharma Body.
For those centered on physical cultivation, the Dharma Body realm was a grand demarcation: a realm where power leapt qualitatively forward, turning mortal vessel into relentless fortress.
"Bring it on!" Ethan's will surged as the blood pill within his dantian emanated vibrant essence and blood. His sea of consciousness roiled, responding to his commands.
Wisps of divine fire wove softly through the air, mingling with his essence and blood to mold a vast humanoid shadow—the embryonic form of the Dharma Body.
What shape it would ultimately take was uncertain; he followed the methods faithfully, forging step by painful step.
But strength drawn from his own blood pills was insufficient.
Ethan summoned the potent blood essence harvested from the sternum, he had gotten from the demon sealing cave elders.
The grandeur of that essence flooded into the shadow, imbuing the Dharma Body with life and resilience.
Time passed beyond measure.
His eyes opened again.
Not fully formed, the Dharma Body remained incomplete. The blood essence from the sternum, though powerful, was not abundant enough to complete the process.
"It requires far too much essence and blood to condense fully," Ethan mused, a frown knitting his brows.
Suddenly, behind him, a colossal figure unfolded—ten times his own size.
The Dharma Body had taken form much denser and more solid than before, though still far from completion.
He emptied his system inventory, releasing treasures—heritage elixirs, ancient herbs, rare spirit plants. All the precious essence and blood from these relics streamed into the Dharma Body, an offering of life and power.
Days flowed into weeks, weeks into another month.
One deep night, something stirred beneath Echo Lake. The surface roiled wildly, transforming as if molten lava surged beneath serene waters.
At the lake's darkest depth, Ethan's eyes snapped wide open.
The bloody Dharma Body—now fully condensed—throbbed with formidable vitality.
The next step beckoned: infuse all his cultivation insights into this perfect Dharma body.
His mind raced, memories flashing—each scene of his cultivation journey from arrival in this world to the present moment played before him like a relentless, intricate slideshow.
Simultaneously, the Celestial Jade Physique Scripture appeared behind him, its divine wisdom and the insights of his physical cultivation flowing in torrents into the Dharma Body.
Water and black liquid surged, cascading into the crimson giant like sacred tides.
"Dharma Body, condense!" Ethan roared, feeling the opportune moment crack open.
Light blazed suddenly throughout the massive figure—radiant, dazzling.
As the glow faded, a three-meter giant stood behind Ethan, though the Dharma Body had gotten smaller in size but the strength of the Dharma Body increased greatly.
It was a perfect reflection of himself—only its hues shimmered in transparent, glossy colors.
"With the Celestial Jade Physique Scripture's insights, combined with water element, strange fires and demonic energy within, my Dharma Body is now indestructible—immune to all poisons."
Ethan grinned fiercely. "Let's call you the Celestial Prism Dharma Body."
He surged upward from the lake's depths, standing alone against the great sweeping night sky.
Stretching wide his arms, his giant Dharma Body mirrored the gesture.
The wind howled fiercely around them, carrying the weight of his newfound power.
Breathing the air, Ethan felt akin to a god of war commanding the cosmos.
"Is this really the Dharma Body Realm?" he whispered reverently.
"The strength… over a hundred times my prior level at the Divine Fire Realm. Coupled with this mighty Dharma Body, I feel capable of challenging those in the Mahayana Realm!"
His fists clenched, muscles relaxed yet primed.
"Holy shit. It's done."
The powerful aura radiating from him pulsed like a living storm.
Yet Onyx Orchid's voice, full of surprised admiration, echoed in his mind.
"Damn, it's done. You have such a strong aura. Why do you still feel like a demon? How come you know the techniques of the demons and posses demonic energy? What kind of monster are you? This Dharma body is still invulnerable to all poisons. How awesome!"
"Old boy Ebon Azure was right," Onyx Orchid chuckled wryly. "You truly bear the bearing of an emperor."
Ethan laughed, shaking his head. "Give me less of that poisonous milk!"
With a final wave, he descended into the calm depths of Echo Lake.
Silence enveloped the water once more—the chaos quelled, the power quelled, the storm stilled.
In cultivation, stagnation meant decline.
Though the Dharma Body Realm marked a profound peak, for Ethan, his journey had only just begun—
He continued to refine and push his limits.
Three more months flowed onward.
One radiant noon, Echo Lake trembled once again.
Women laughing, splashing through the water fled swiftly to the shore, startled by the violent trembling beneath the surface.
There, emerging with graceful power, stood Ethan himself.
Clad in simple azure robes, long hair flowing in the breeze, his handsome features shone perfectly in the daylight.
A young disciple gasped in awe.
"Look! Senior Brother Ethan!" she exclaimed.
"Really? Senior Brother Ethan! It's been nearly a year since he disappeared! Who knew he'd been secluded beneath Echo Lake the whole time?"
Another, breathless with excitement, blurted, "Senior Brother Ethan, I love you! Marry me!"
Ethan cast a brief glance at the eager disciples gathered zealously.
Yet with serene detachment, he allowed no distractions.
His eyes fell, then he turned silently and departed Echo Lake.
