According to rumors, all the Sage Tokens in Blue-Wave City were controlled by a single force.
The Palace of the Four Cycles.
This monopoly alone was enough to choke countless demon cultivators to death. Without a token, even the most talented geniuses could only watch the Training Trial Secret Realm open and close—without them.
Ethan sat quietly in the lobby of Peaceful Haven Inn, his fingers lightly tapping the edge of the table.
At that moment.
"Servant, three rooms."
A cold, restrained voice rang out.
Ethan lifted his gaze.
A group of cloaked figures entered the inn, their auras tightly restrained, disguises flawless. At a glance, they looked like ordinary fox demons wandering into the city.
But Ethan recognized them instantly.
Black Demon Sect.
The same group he had encountered at Netherfall Pass.
"They're finally here."
His eyes swept over Kara and the others, an imperceptible smile flickering across his lips.
Long ago, he had quietly left a mental imprint on one of them. As long as they stayed within a certain range, their movements were no secret to him.
The Black Demon Sect had come to Blue-Wave City disguised as fox demons for only one reason.
The Training Trial.
Since they had arrived, it meant one thing—they were confident they could enter the Training Trial Secret Realm.
Which also meant…
They likely possessed Sage Tokens.
Kara led her group into the inn.
Her fox ears twitched subtly, her tail swaying with a natural rhythm. The disguise was perfect—charming, harmless, and utterly convincing.
Morwen followed behind her, stopping at the counter to speak with the inn's waiter.
"Come," Morwen said calmly. "We need three rooms."
"Of course," replied a rat demon attendant, bowing respectfully. "Please follow me, honored guests."
Kara nodded and ascended the stairs, her gaze sweeping briefly across the lobby.
She took everything in with a single glance.
Not many strong presences.
During her brief inspection, she sensed only one Demon Lord in the entire inn—an Inferior Demon Lord, roughly on par with her own strength.
That was acceptable.
It meant they didn't need to remain on high alert every moment.
After entering the Demon Territory, their nerves had been stretched taut for far too long. A place like this allowed them to relax—just a little.
"Master," Morwen asked quietly as they climbed, "what do you think of this inn?"
"It's fine," Kara replied calmly. "We'll stay here."
"I've checked. There's only one Demon Lord present. No one else poses a threat. No one should be able to see through our disguises."
"We can cultivate peacefully here and wait for the Training Trial."
Morwen nodded in relief.
Under the rat demon's guidance, they arrived at the third floor.
"Three rooms have been prepared for you," he said, gesturing politely.
Kara inspected one of the rooms briefly, then nodded. "Not bad."
"If you need anything, just call for me," the rat demon said, bowing again before retreating downstairs.
Once alone, Kara gathered everyone inside her room.
With a gentle wave of her hand, the door closed silently.
"Everyone," Kara said, her voice steady, "I've already checked this inn. There are no powerful demons here. It's suitable for temporary residence."
"Blue-Wave City was built on a blessed land at the western border of the Demon Territory. The spiritual energy here is rich and stable—excellent for cultivation."
"From today onward, all of you will enter secluded practice. Wait quietly for the Training Trial."
"No trouble."
"No exposure."
Her tone sharpened slightly.
"Above all, do not reveal our identities."
"Understood," everyone replied in unison.
"This Training Trial," Kara continued, "will be jointly organized by the demon sects of Blackspire Mountain, with the Heavenly Demon Sect as the main authority."
"We'll communicate through the Demon Clan's unique channels. Only after the Heavenly Demon Sect gives the signal will we act."
"Everything depends on their command," several young commanders answered solemnly.
The Third Elder of the Black Demon Sect stepped forward slightly. "Sect Master, which one of us will serve as liaison with the Heavenly Demon Sect?"
"These," Kara said, producing two bronze, mirror-like spiritual weapons.
"They are our communication artifacts."
"Previously, Morwen and I handled contact with the Heavenly Demon Sect."
She tossed one mirror to the Third Elder.
"I'll keep one. You take the other."
The Third Elder caught it, his eyes flashing faintly. "I will follow your instructions."
"Morwen and I will share one room," Kara added.
"The remaining two rooms can be distributed freely."
The others nodded and quietly withdrew.
Once the room emptied, Morwen closed the door and poured a cup of tea for Kara.
"Master," Morwen said softly, "the Palace of the Four Cycles here is extremely powerful. It controls most of the major demon clans in this region."
"Their chief palace master is a Perfect Supreme, with dozens of Ultimate Supremes beneath him."
"They monopolize the quotas. Even if we have Sage Tokens… will we really be allowed into the Training Trial Secret Realm?"
Her concern had been growing since she learned the full strength of the Palace of the Four Cycles.
Yet Kara seemed unconcerned.
"Don't worry," Kara replied calmly. "Since we're here, we'll definitely enter."
"Although I'm only an Inferior Supreme, the people sent by the Heavenly Demon Sect this time are no ordinary figures."
"There will be no issue allowing us—and the other demon sects—to enter the Secret Realm."
Morwen's eyes brightened. "I see… No wonder Master instructed us to obey the Heavenly Demon Sect completely."
After a brief pause, Morwen hesitated. "Master… it seems the Third Elder still doesn't fully trust you."
Kara let out a cold laugh.
"That's nothing new."
"When my master passed the position of sect master to me, those old fools resisted at every turn."
"After my master abdicated and entered seclusion, they made things difficult for me whenever they could."
"But strength speaks louder than words."
"Now that I has stepped into the Supreme Realm, the Third Elder and those old men can only mutter strange remarks from time to time."
Morwen lowered her gaze. "Master… is it because we carry human blood?"
"Yes," Kara answered bluntly.
"Cruel, but true."
"Those who aren't pure demons are never welcomed in Blackspire Mountain."
"Neither you nor I are pure demons."
She paused, her voice lowering slightly.
"I can't even truly be considered a demon."
"My master picked me up and adopted me. I have lived in the Black Demon Sect since I was a child."
"Although many people in the sect had opinions about me, they didn't dare to say anything in front of my master."
