Chapter 511

"Forget it… Now that you know my identity, you should release me quickly and break the release my disciple."

Kara spoke calmly, her expression already restored to its usual composure.

She decisively changed the topic, clearly unwilling to dwell on the embarrassing matter any longer.

Ethan glanced at Morwen, who was still unconscious on the bed, then looked back at Kara.

"Your disciple doesn't know your true identity," he said lightly.

"When the final reckoning comes, if she chooses to stand on the demon side, what will you do?"

The words fell softly, yet they struck straight at the core.

Kara fell silent.

For the first time in a long while, her thoughts stalled.

This was not a question she could answer easily.

"…Junior brother, you don't need to worry about this," she finally replied, her voice steady but slightly restrained.

"I will handle it properly."

Ethan smiled faintly.

"When the time comes, if Senior Sister Kara can't bring herself to act," he said calmly, "leave it to Junior Brother."

Before Kara could respond, Ethan flicked his fingers.

A thin strand of divine power, imperceptible to ordinary cultivators, slipped silently into Morwen's body.

Kara's eyes narrowed instantly.

"What did you do?"

"It's nothing," Ethan replied casually.

"A precaution."

Then, without waiting for her reaction, he raised his hand again.

Another thread of divine power entered Kara's body.

Her pupils contracted.

"You can think of it as a time bomb," Ethan said indifferently.

"If I discover that Senior Sister has developed other intentions, or if your disciple truly stands with the demons when the time comes, I will detonate it without hesitation."

There was no threat in his tone.

Only an emotionless statement of fact.

Although he had already searched Kara's memories, Ethan had no intention of gambling everything on trust alone.

This world was too cruel.

Too many so-called loyalties were eroded by time, power, and temptation.

Precautions were necessary.

Kara did not speak.

She understood perfectly what Ethan was doing.

And strangely enough, she did not feel anger.

Instead, there was a faint sense of reassurance in her heart.

She finally understood why Master dared to entrust the Azure Origin Dao Sect to this junior brother.

Caution, ruthlessness, and clarity of purpose—none were lacking.

"I'm relieved," Kara said quietly. "Master can rest easy handing the sect over to you."

Ethan did not reply.

He waved his hand, undoing the restraints on Morwen's body.

"Junior brother came to the Demon Territory for the Sage Token," Kara continued.

"Wait patiently. I'll find a way to secure one for you."

"There's no need," Ethan shook his head.

"Senior Sister is already being targeted by Luca. Your situation is dangerous enough. It's better not to expose yourself further."

"I have my own way to obtain the Sage Token."

With those words, his figure blurred.

The space rippled once, then returned to silence.

Ethan had vanished.

After confirming that Ethan was truly gone, Kara sat silently for a long time.

Then, she let out a soft breath and allowed a rare smile to surface.

"In such a short time… he's already grown to this extent," she murmured.

"Ultimate Supreme."

"With his combat strength, there are probably only a handful of Perfect Supremes in the entire northwest Demon Territory who can suppress him."

"Especially since he possesses a divine weapon…"

Once that divine weapon was unleashed, even Perfect Supremes would have to avoid him temporarily.

Kara shook her head with a wry smile.

"If we had known this back then, why would Master and I have spent a hundred years laying down that plan?"

"All that scheming… now it feels almost unnecessary."

But after a moment of reflection, her expression grew serious again.

"No… that's not right."

"Even if Ethan is powerful, Blackspire Mountain is still a den of demons."

"The Demon Supreme has already stepped into the Perfect Supreme realm. After the training trial, the large-scale invasion of Skyreach Territory is inevitable."

"And that old monster would never act without preparing something far more dangerous beneath the surface."

She clenched her fingers slowly.

"At the Demon Ancestor Altar, dozens of Demon Sects were present."

"Because they know I'm not one of them, they deliberately concealed many things."

"There must be plans I still don't know."

Kara closed her eyes briefly.

She could leave now.

She could return to the Azure Origin Dao Sect with Ethan.

But if she did, all those hidden conspiracies would remain buried in darkness.

And when they erupted, countless lives would be lost.

"No," she whispered. "I can't leave yet."

"I'll remain as the Sect Master of the Black Demon Sect."

"I'll continue gathering intelligence from Blackspire Mountain."

"Only when the enemy is fully exposed… will it be time to end everything."

A short while later, Morwen stirred.

Her eyelashes trembled, and her vision slowly cleared.

The first thing she saw was Kara's familiar silhouette.

"Master…" Morwen murmured. "I'm awake…"

"You're fine," Kara said gently. "How do you feel?"

"I'm okay," Morwen replied, sitting up abruptly. "Master, are you injured?"

Kara coughed softly.

A trace of blood appeared at the corner of her lips.

"I'm fine," she said calmly, wiping it away. "Just minor injuries."

Morwen's expression tightened.

"What about that man?!"

"He's gone," Kara replied.

"We exchanged a few moves. He was strong, but he had his concerns. Seeing that he couldn't defeat me quickly, he retreated."

"As long as you're safe, these injuries mean nothing."

She coughed twice more, deliberately weakening her posture.

Morwen clenched her fists.

"Master, please rest."

"I'll go check on the rest of the sect."

"Wait," Kara stopped her. "Morwen, remember this—do not tell anyone about what happened tonight."

Morwen frowned.

"Why?"

"I can't fully determine that man's identity," Kara said gravely.

"But I suspect he may be connected to Blackspire Mountain."

"He came for the Sage Token."

"Master is worried… that someone within the sect has already betrayed us."

Morwen's eyes widened.

"…You mean people from our own sect covet the Sage Token?"

"Not just the Black Demon Sect," Kara replied. "Other Demon Sects as well."

"Think carefully—besides our allies and fellow sect members, who else knows we possess a Sage Token?"

Realization struck Morwen like a hammer.

Her expression darkened instantly.

"You're right…!"

"These people shout loyalty on the surface, but secretly collude with other Demon Sects."

"They're traitors!"

Morwen clenched her fists tightly, murderous intent surging.

Kara watched silently.

Because whether it was the Black Demon Sect or other demon sects.
