As the name suggested, the Wing Demon Sect was a sect founded by the Wing Demon Clan.
They were born with wings, their skeletons light, their muscles compact and explosive, their reflexes and agility far surpassing ordinary demon clans.
From the moment they opened their eyes, the sky was their domain. Clouds were footholds, wind was a path, and gravity was merely a suggestion.
Speed was their pride.
Reaction was their foundation.
Yet even so—
Milo still could not truly capture Ethan's movements.
The speed he had cultivated through bloodline, secret techniques, and countless life-and-death battles was rendered laughably insignificant before Ethan.
"Damn it… too fast!"
Milo gritted his teeth, forcibly shifting his gaze again and again, chasing Ethan's afterimages.
But what he saw was only a thin streak of light flashing back and forth through the blood-red mist, closing in relentlessly.
His pupils strained. His vision lagged behind his thoughts. A sharp pain stabbed into his temples as his eyes were pushed beyond their limits.
What kind of monster was this?
Everyone here was at the pinnacle of the Ninth Turn Mahayana.
So why—why was the gap so terrifyingly large?
This question echoed in the minds of every remaining demon present.
"We can't retreat anymore—stop him!"
Luca roared violently.
Light-blue radiance surged from his body as mysterious bloodline power circulated, forcibly repairing his shattered meridians and cracked core.
"Your Highness, I can't beat him—no one can beat him!" Roslyn shouted, her voice tight with fear.
"That man doesn't even look injured! The Mad Demon Sect's sect master was killed the moment he made contact!"
Luca's heart burned with rage.
Useless trash.
But rage would not save him now.
"No matter what, stop him for me!" Luca barked coldly.
"As long as I recover, I still have a chance!"
"If you fail, we all die here tonight!"
His words were absolute.
He was already forcing his bloodline to mend his injuries. As long as he could recover enough to activate the ancestral pattern again, he still had a final trump card.
Even if Ethan could not be killed—
Escape would still be possible.
Time.
All they needed was time.
"Elder Roslyn," Milo said suddenly, stepping forward, "you protect His Highness."
"Leave Ethan to me."
"If you survive… remember to avenge me."
Before anyone could respond, Milo took a single step forward—leaving the protection of the Heavenly Net Demonic Pearl.
The moment he entered the red mist, the murderous tide surged violently, gnawing at his flesh like countless invisible blades.
Milo tore his robe apart.
His upper body was exposed, muscles tense and carved like steel. Dense demonic patterns spread across half his body, flowing and rotating like living runes. His aura rose sharply, climbing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
He was alone in the crimson mist.
Milo formed a seal with one hand and pressed it firmly against his heart.
His expression twisted in pain.
Crack-like streaks of pale blue light spread from his chest, as though his heart itself were fracturing.
Bang Bang bang.
Each heartbeat thundered like a war drum, burning with the power of his essence.
He was not merely burning blood.
He was burning his soul.
"With my blood," Milo murmured hoarsely, "I pay homage to my ancestors."
"Bloodline Forbidden Technique!"
Boom!
A terrifying momentum erupted outward.
The air shattered. Space trembled violently as a dark-blue demonic barrier unfolded around him, forcibly isolating him from the murderous tide.
For a brief moment, even the crimson mist recoiled.
Milo stood within the barrier, long hair whipping wildly in the violent currents.
His eyes were calm.
Calm to the point of madness.
This was the pinnacle of his life.
Even if it meant death.
Even if his soul would be erased.
He felt no regret.
Facing a monster like Ethan, dying in battle was not disgrace—it was honor.
The strong died beneath the stronger.
Such had always been the law of this world.
"Ethan," Milo said steadily, his voice unwavering, "even if I die today, I will not let you cross this line so easily."
With blood and soul burning simultaneously, his perception reached an unprecedented peak. Ethan's movements—once elusive—were now barely traceable.
"If you wish to kill His Royal Highness," Milo continued, "you must first pass through me."
The next instant—
He vanished.
A blue afterimage tore through the night sky, faster than lightning, ripping apart the crimson fog in a straight line.
Boom!
Milo punched forward.
At that exact moment, Ethan appeared in the path of the fist.
Their timing overlapped perfectly.
Yet Ethan's expression remained utterly calm.
He leaned slightly to the side, the fist grazing past him by less than an inch.
Milo's pupils shrank.
"So fast—!"
He twisted his wrist violently. Demonic energy exploded outward, forming a spiraling wind vortex sharp as blades, howling toward Ethan.
Ethan sneered faintly.
He took one step back.
Then—
He crossed his arms.
Boom!
The Celestial Jade Physique Scripture roared to life.
Original Power surged like a raging dragon, flooding every inch of his flesh and bone. His physical body reached absolute extremity.
Golden arcs danced across his skin, crackling sharply in the air.
Ethan flicked his wrist.
Just one motion.
The blade-like whirlwind shattered instantly, dispersing into nothingness.
"…What?!"
Milo's face drained of color.
Fear surged into his heart for the first time.
This was not resistance.
This was suppression.
Absolute suppression.
The strength Ethan had shown earlier—was it merely the surface?
A horrifying thought rose within Milo's mind.
Perhaps… Ethan still had not revealed his true limit.
"What kind of existence are you…?" Milo whispered bitterly.
"Why do humans—born so weak—keep producing such monsters across countless eras?!"
The injustice of fate crushed him.
But fate did not answer.
After blocking Milo's attack, Ethan turned into a bolt of lightning and rushed toward Luca.
